Abstract:
Based on the principle of the modulation and demodulation of Binary Phase Shift Keying(2PSK),a mathematical model for the modulation and demodulation of the 2PSK was built and the carrier signal was designed using the technology of Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS).Then,a model to simulate the hardware circuit of the modulation and demodulation of 2PSK was built, and then analyzed in Matlab and Modelsim.Simulation results show that the model not only properly realizes the function of 2PSK modulator-demodulator,but it also simplifies the hardware circuit and reduces the programming time.

Common-Mode Voltage (CMV) induces shaft voltage and bearing current due to the electrical interaction with the parasitic capacitance of the motor. CMV, shaft voltage, and bearing current are considered the major causes of bearing fault. Motor fault in a traction system poses a risk of accidents. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the CMV and the shaft voltage to ensure the reliability of the bearing. However, some existing CMV reduction methods are based on asynchronized space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM), which will cause unacceptable harmonic distortion at a low switching frequenc

The system consists of two major parts, interrogator and transponder, for magnetic power and data transmission. The power and data can synchronously be transferred from the interrogator to the transponder with 10% amplitude shift keying modulation of mixing both carrier 13.56 MHz and data rate 106 Kbps. Another data can be backward to the interrogator from the transponder with the mixed binary phase shift keying modulation. Simul

Abstract:
Phonon and free-carrier effects in a strained hexagonal (α) {GaN}l-{AlN}msuperlattice (SL) heterostructure (l = 8 nm, m = 3 nm) are studied by infrared spectroscopic ellipsometry (IRSE) and micro (µ)-Raman scattering. Growth of the heterostructures was performed by metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy (MOVPE) on (0001) sapphire. An unstrained 1 µm-thick α-GaN layer was deposited prior to the SL. SL phonon modes are identified combining results from both IRSE and µ-Raman techniques. The shift of the GaN-sublayer phonon modes is used to estimate an average compressive SL stress of σxx ∼ - 4.3 GPa.

AbstractTerahertz (THz) science and technology promise unique applications in high-speed communications, high-accuracy imaging, and so on. To keep up with the demand for THz systems, THz dynamic devices should feature large phase shift modulation and high speed. To date, however, only a few devices can efficiently manipulate the phase of THz waves. In this paper, we demonstrate that efficient phase modulation of THz waves can be addressed by an active and enhanced resonant metamaterial embedded with a nanostructured 2D electron gas (2DEG) layer of a GaN high electron mobility transistor (HEMT)

This paper investigates this challenge through a proposed method that utilizes a high carrier frequency phase-shifted pulse width modulation (PS-PWM) scheme. This method aims to achieve natural balancing without the need for any additional control mechanisms. Moreover, the number of output voltage levels is affected by the phase shift between the carriers of the upper and lower arms. When there is no phase shift, N+1 disc

Phase stabilization becomes crucial to enable phase-shift-based multilevel modulation for high-speed data transmission. We developed a Mach–Zehnder interferometric phase stabilization technique for photomixing, which has proved a promising method for phase-stable continuous THz-wave generation. However, this method faced inefficiencies in generating phase-modulated THz waves due to the impact of the phase modulator on the phase stabilization sys
