Abstract:
A unified collision avoidance system is proposed to improve the efficiency and safety of marine transport, namely maritime avoidance navigation, totally integrated system (MANTIS). The principle behind its operation is to remove the difficulties and uncertainties involved in marine navigation through a system structure that makes marine transport deterministic rather than uncertain. Fundamental to its operation is a strategic interactive expert system that can determine safe and efficient navigation routes for all vessels as part of journey planning and en route collision avoidance. Commercial operators today are required to maintain maximum vessels in-service levels and, with government vessel operators competing for decreasing operating funds, the management of ship maintenance and repair (M&R) has become a highly visible area which can have a significant impact on overall vessel operating costs. As an approach to consolidate, improve, and simply better manage a vessel's state of material condition and M&R requirements, an integrated shipboard Material Condition Assessment Program can be implemented which provides a comprehensive evaluation and assessment of the

The Vessel Surveillance System (VSS), a crucial tool for fisheries monitoring, controlling, and surveillance, has been required to use for the reservation of the current depressed state of the world's fisheries by fisheries management agencies. An important issue in the vessel surveillance system is the classification of vessels. However, several factors, such as lighting, congestion, and sea state, will affect the vessel's appearance, making it more difficult to classify vessels. There are two main methods for conventional classifications of vessels: the traditional-based- characteristics met
