Abstract:
Tvorba vnútorného prostredia v pracovnej oblasti človeka v priemyselných halových objektoch by mala byť založená na úzkej spolupráci profesií vykurovania spolu s vetraním a klimatizáciou.

Abstract:
The two-step reduction of Zn(II) ions at a dropping mercury electrode in 1 M NaClO4 with addition of vetranal was examined using dc polarography, cyclic voltammetry and impedance measurements. Small changes of reversible potential of half-wave, Er1/2, values indicate that the Zn(II)-vetranal complexes formed in the solution are very unstable. A stepwise character of electron transfer in the Zn(II) ion reduction was established. The catalytic activity of vetranal is stronger in the first step of electron transfer than in the second one. The linear dependence of the true rate constant for the forward reaction, ktf, of Zn(II) electroreduction versus relative surface excess, Γ′, of vetranal at a given potential in the reaction plane, Φr, was interpreted in terms of a "bridging model".

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction Older patients may continue to receive potential inappropriate medications (PIMs) at the end of life. Application of consensus-based tools to identify PIMs may result in the identification of candidate medications for deprescribing, with the aim of overcoming the harm of inappropriate medication and improving clinical outcomes. This study aims to describe medication use and deprescribing patterns, and to assess prescribing appropriateness for older people in the last 14 days of life in the hospice setting. Methods Longitudinal, retrospective cohort study of deceased patients (≥65 years) who died between 1 January 2018 and 31 December 2018 in three hospices in a region of the United Kingdom. We identified prescribed and deprescribed medications and assessed medication appropriateness using consensus-based criteria, namely STOPPFrail[1] and criteria developed by Morin et al.[2] Unexpected/sudden deaths were excluded. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS statistics 26.0. Preliminary results Data collection is currently ongoing. To date, data from 69 deceased patients have been collected (mean age 76.1 years). Of these decedents, 62.3% were female and the majority (just under 90%) had cancer reported as the cause of death. During the last 14 days of life, each patient was prescribed a mean of 17 ± 5 different medications. The mean number of medications decreased significantly between day 14 and the day of death from 13.2 ± 4.4 to 9.4 ± 3.7 (P < 0.01). Six hundred and thirty-nine medications were discontinued, with just under 70% stopped in the last seven days before death. 34.9% of those discontinued were prescribed for chronic conditions and 22% were proton pump inhibitors. In most decedents, swallowing difficulty was the reason for medication discontinuation. According to the STOPPFrail criteria [1], 42 (60.1%) of decedents received at least one PIM between day 14 and the day of death. There were 59 PIMs in total for these patients; of these 20.3% were hyoscine butyl-bromide and 16.9% were gliclazide. Using the criteria developed by Morin et al [2], 103 medications were assessed as being of questionable (81.6%) or inadequate (18.4%) clinical benefit. Of these, 64.1% were initiated during hospice admission. There was a statistically significant association between medications of questionable clinical benefit and medication number during the last 14 days of life (P < 0.01). Three of the PIMs were vitamins, considered inappropriate by both sets of criteria. Prescribing of PIMs reduced as patients neared death. Conclusion A substantial proportion of older patients with life-limiting diseases receive PIMs during their last days of life. No systematic discontinuation of inappropriate medications was observed thus guidelines and resources are needed to facilitate rationalisation and deprescribing of drug treatments for older patients in the last days of life. The small sample size makes the relationship between most variables insignificant; however, data extraction is still ongoing in hospices. References 1. Lavan H, Gallagher P, Parsons C, Mahony O. Abstract:

Abstract:
Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. The rate of suicide attempts among veterans in the United States has increased tremendously since 2001, which has left the Department of Veterans Affairs deeply concerned. The purpose of this study was to examine if there is an association between suicide attempts among African American/Black veterans and mental health support, income level, marital status, education level, and unemployment status. This quantitative study used the socio-ecological model to explain the association of the contributing factors to suicide attempts. Descriptive statistics, chi-square, and logistic regression were used to analyze the 2014 National Survey on Drug Use and Health from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality. The publicly available dataset contains 55,271 cases with 6,698 Blacks/African American in the study. The findings of the study show 20% of African American veterans who seek support received it and 80% did not in suicide attempts among African American/ Blacks veterans and mental health support, income level, marital status, education level and unemployment status. The study showed there is a need for greater support for African American veterans through either policy or access to more mental health care. The social change implication is that need to be greater advocacy for support for African Americans who experience suicidal thought seeking support. Providing the support, they need can possibly help save lives.

Abstract:
This chapter examines three moments of political crisis during the period 337‒54. First, the chapter defends the notion that the so-called ‘great massacre’ of 337was orchestrated by, or with the connivance of, Constantius. It then considers the wars between the sons of Constantine in the 330s and 340s. It contrasts the bitter antipathy between Constantius and Constans with the rhetoric of fraternal harmony in Libanius’ Oratio LIX. Finally, the chapter examines the death of Constans, the usurpations of Magnentius and Vetranio, and Constantius’ war in the West from 350‒3. The chapter explores how Julian’s Orationes I and II and Themistius’ Orationes II, III, and IV produced a coherent caricature of Magnentius, and also how they can be used to demonstrate that Vetranio’s usurpation in Illyricum was in defence of Constantius, and that Vetranio willingly laid down power in 350. The chapter also contains some remarks on the usurpation of Silvanus.

Abstract:
The effective and efficient treatment of individual patients subject to scarce hospital resources is an increasingly important and challenging problem for decision makers to address. A recent study by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics listed Registered Nursing among the top occupations in terms of job growth until the year 2022 (American Association of Colleges of Nursing (2015)). This growing demand can be explained in part by the large number of aging baby boomers with multi-morbid health conditions who typically require more treatments and longer length of stay in a variety of healthcare delivery settings (Vetrano et al. (2014)). Given the projected demand growth and reduced mobility of elderly patients, efficient operational research methods have to be developed and deployed for optimizing the process of scheduling the treatment of individual patients in highly resource constrained environments. We will henceforth denote this process as ‘patient scheduling' and provide a problem definition and a review of current approaches in the course of this chapter.
