Abstract:
Purpose Marketers use e-mail in new, potentially more informative, entertaining and lucrative ways – such as embedding video. The purpose of this paper is to examine consumer responses to audiovisual (i.e. text along with a short video) versus text-only messages in brand communication. Specifically, authors seek to uncover the efficacy of marketer-embedded video (vs text-only) in e-mail on the consumer's product interest, informativeness, perceived prestige, electronic word-of-mouth (e-WOM) intentions and willingness to pass the electronic message along digitally or on social media. With the dual coding theory and selective visual attention as theoretical guideposts, the intended contribution is a framework that can explain and predict advantages for multi-modal e-mail marketing communications. Design/methodology/approach Five hypotheses are tested experimentally with a one-factor experiment with two conditions (text-only vs audiovisual). The sample was 240 adult participants. Real brands (Audi and Apple) were used. For both brands, participants were randomly assigned to one of two conditions of the e-mail (i.e. audiovisual vs text-only). The stimuli are identical, with the exception of embedded video in the e-mail body. The videos are authentic brand videos, are approximately 50 s and use a product feature appeal. Participants’ pre-existing brand attitude was measured. Then, five dependent variables (product interest, informativeness, perceived prestige, e-WOM intentions and willingness to pass the electronic message along digitally or on social media) were considered with respect to consumer exposure to e-mail with video and text in the e-mail from the brand versus text-only e-mail from the brand. Findings The results supported the hypotheses that audiovisual messages (i.e. those with text and video) heighten informativeness, product interest, perceived prestige, intentions to spread e-WOM for a brand and willingness to pass along the e-mail along to friends and family when compared to text-only messages. These experimental findings from a one-factor experiment with two conditions (text-only vs audiovisual) are generally consistent for an American consumer technology brand Apple (iPhone) and a German luxury automobile brand Audi (S4). Hypotheses are supported for both brands (Apple and Audi), with the exception of product interest for Audi, which may be explained by the high price of a luxury automobile. Research limitations/implications An implication here for the dual coding theory is that the theory may be extended to consider what happens after the consumer codes the information with both the verbal and the non-verbal subsystem. The finding of interest to information processing scholars is that a video accompanying text communication from a brand to a consumer has an advantage over text-only communication. Brands that communicate with multi-modal marketing communication have better outcomes in informativeness, brand prestige perceptions and intentions of online consumer behaviors, including positive e-WOM for the brand in general and willingness to pass the specific content along in digital and social media platforms. Consumers can become brand advocates by being more inclined to forward the e-mails with the product short video as well as the e-mail text. Practical implications Brand marketers should consider e-mail in an integrated brand promotion (IBP) campaign as a cost advantage; one of the reasons e-mail should have a solid place in the IBP toolkit is due to e-mail's relatively low cost. The main cost comes with administration and production of the video. As a managerial implication for advertisers, embedding ads of a short video format in e-mails is a way to be more effective than plain-text e-mails. Short videos in e-mails are a reasonable idea to include in an integrated marketing communications effort (plausibly due to information processing with both a verbal and a non-verbal system). Brands can use videos in e-mails to enhance informativeness regarding products to enhance product differentiation from competitors. Yet, it is important to raise caution with some concerning disadvantages potentially associated with e-mail marketing and video. The three areas of caution include potential issues of privacy, clutter and technical inhibitors. Originality/value Despite the fact that e-mail is one of the most heavily used communication tools in marketing, there is scarce literature on e-mail and branding. By brands evoking a degree of prestige with embedded videos, consumer willingness to become part of the marketing communications is enhanced, as their e-WOM and willingness to share the branded content increase.

Abstract:
Abstract Background and Objectives We examined whether technology-mediated communication has functional or emotional equivalence to face-to-face (FtF) contact in familial relationships, by scrutinizing the effects of phone, text/e-mail, and video contact on isolation and loneliness. Research Design and Methods We tested whether FtF contact with a relative would mediate the pathway between proximity to family and (i) isolation and (ii) loneliness. We then tested hypotheses that telephone, text/e-mails, and video contact would moderate this mediated pathway. We compared models for younger (<75) and older (≥75) cohorts, expecting to observe moderation effects for text/e-mail and video contact in the younger cohort only. Data were drawn from Wave 2 of CFAS Wales (United Kingdom) study (N = 2,099). Results Proximity to a relative had a significant indirect effect on isolation and loneliness through the mediating variable FtF contact. Phone and text/e-mail contact moderated the effect of FtF contact on isolation for all samples. None of the technologies moderated the impact of FtF contact on loneliness for the full sample. Telephone contact had a moderating influence on loneliness for the younger cohort only. Video calls had no significant moderation effect. Discussion and Implications Telephone and text/e-mail contact have functional equivalence to FtF contact in familial relationships. None of the forms of technological communication have emotional equivalence to the “gold standard” of embodied presence. The study demonstrates the importance of theorizing about the pathways to isolation and loneliness to better understand the likelihood of implementing successful interventions using technology-mediated communication within families.

Abstract:
The paper proposes a smart, reliable and robust algorithm for motion detection, tracking and activity analysis. Background subtraction is considered intelligent algorithms for the same. Mount the web camera focused to the patient. PC should have a unique external Internet IP Address. Android mobile phone should be GPRS enabled. GSM technology is used for sending SMS. It is a client-server technology wherein client captures the images, checks for motion if any, discards the packets until motion is detected. Use background subtraction algorithm to check the motion. The surveillance camera does not move and has a capture of the static background it is facing. It uses image subtraction to determine object motion. It provides more reliable information about moving object, but it is so sensitivity to the dynamic changes such as lighting. Once motion is detected, camera stops monitoring further motion. Instead, it starts capturing the video. Simultaneously, SMS alert is sent to the responsible doctors and also alerting the medical staff with audio speaker in the hospital. Java mail API is used to mail the captured video to the entered e-mail IDs. Once the doctor demands for video, socket is established between the PC and the mobile phone and video (series of images) are streamed to the doctors mobile phone. Save live video of first few seconds at the server end for future use. Activate alert at the remote end.

Abstract:
Telemedicine is an increasingly recognized option for cost-effective management of chronic conditions. We surveyed Sleep Clinic patients about their experiences and preferences regarding different forms of telemedicine. Adult Sleep Clinic patients seen between 2009 and 2011 received a brief survey either by postal mail (n=156) or, for those with an available email address, electronically (n=282). The overall response rate was 28.1% (n=123 responses), with email response rates being higher than postal mail responses. The most commonly reported barriers to in-person physician visits were parking cost (44%), time away from work/school (34%), and cost of gas (26%). Whereas 89% of respondents indicated using telephone and 55% of respondents indicated using email to communicate with providers, none reported experience with video telemedicine. Despite this lack of experience, over 60% reported feeling comfortable or willing to try it. Of those who were uncomfortable about video telemedicine, the two main reasons were that in-person visits feel more natural (48%) and that the doctor might need to perform an examination (24%). More than half of respondents reported willingness to pay a copay for a video visit. Video telemedicine represents a feasible option for chronic sleep disorders management.

A total of 225 public relations practitioners and journalists in South Korea were surveyed regarding eleven types of offline source-reporter interaction (i.e., telephone contact, fax/mail/wire/courier press releases, interviews, press conferences, private meetings, etc.), and nine types of online source-reporter interaction (i.e., e-mail news releases, multimedia press kits, streaming audio/video clips, organizational homepages, Web site pressrooms, online discussion group/forum, etc.). In all types of source-reporter relationships, both parties disagree and inaccurately predict the other's view. However, respondents expect that online media relations offer promise, with both groups predicting less conflict in online source-reporter relationships.

AbstractThe Internet provides access to electronic mail (e-mail), chat rooms, visually represented social interactions, voice and video connections, games, and general Word Wide Web (www or web) surfing. For children and adolescents the Internet has three main uses: information-gathering, entertainment, and interpersonal communication. Many adults fear that youth Internet use will result in negative consequences. Other individuals promote the use of the Internet as supporting positive growth in children and adolescents. This article presents an overview of some of the main areas of concern regarding Internet use as well as its possible benefits. It is hoped that this information will assist school counsellors and psychologists support positive youth Internet use while avoiding negative aspects of Internet involvement.

This mail survey in a midwestern city compared original viewing of the top 20 programs of the 1985–1986 season with rerun viewing. Only a minority of sample households admitted to frequent rerun viewing. The typical rerun enthusiast was something of a television addict, satisfied with current programming. These hard-core viewers, though small in number, were very devoted to network television. These rerun viewers contrasted with a new group of demographically attractive video adventurers who were more eager to experiment with programs and video technologies. Those who grew up with the newer technologies were more likely to experiment.

Abstract:
Changes in the marketing environment of mail-order retailing (e.g., widespread acceptance of credit cards, increased sales of technologically complex high ticket items, and the increasing use of toll-free numbers for inbound calls) have increased sales substantially in this retailing channel. Consequently, opportunities for deception abound. Bloom has provided a model that is useful for diagnosing information problems in consumer markets and suggests potential courses of response action contingent upon form of deception. The authors report an investigation of deception in the mail-order electronics industry and use the Bloom model as a framework for interpreting the results. The findings indicate that, in addition to consumer education about forms of deception in the market, public policy changes are needed to protect many affected publics in addition to consumers.

Abstract:
The recent developments in telecommunications have created low-cost facilities for remote communication and interaction. Academic institutions are investigating the potential of this technology for distance education to create virtual classrooms. In a virtual classroom, students are dispersed geographically and their interaction with the course professor and other students is facilitated via electronic screen monitors that facilitate two-way audio-video interaction. Although this technology is being promoted to reach students who cannot be residents on campus, the dynamics of this technology on education is not well understood. This article reports the results of a study that compares the dynamics of a traditional classroom with a virtual classroom facilitated by two-way audio-video technology. The results indicate the Video-Mediated ( VM) students are not more inhibited to ask questions in class than are their Face-to-Face ( FtF) counterparts. The VM students use e-mail to ask questions while the FtF students ask questions more by visiting the professor's office. Both VM and FtF students rate the way lectures are delivered to be equally appropriate. Finally, FtF students interact with their group members to work on group projects in a face-to-face mode while students in a VM class use e-mail and phone to interact with their group members to work on collaborative joint projects. Although on most measures FtF and VM students do not differ substantially, both VM and FtF students perceive FtF interaction to be more appropriate for resolving conflicts on group projects. We also investigated outcome measures between the two FtF and VM groups. The Face-to-Face students did as well as Video-Mediated Students on midterms but the overall performance that consists of midterm grades, assignments, and group projects was better for FtF students than for VM students. Implications of the findings will be discussed.

Abstract:
This Business Communication Final Project (BCFP) is made for PT. Mandiri Sekuritas, one of the biggest securities company in Indonesia. The background of the study is the fact the most of the Online Service product’s members are passive, or also called as “sleeping clients”. This problem can affect the AR (Assets Ratio) of the company because they are passive traders. Thus, PT. Mandiri Sekuritas needs to make a promotional video. The video will be uploaded in big websites such as YouTube and e-mail. The video is divided into two parts: The first part is dedicated to the people who are new to stocks and the second part is dedicated to the existing members of Mandiri Sekuritas but rarely do anything with their account. In the video, I highlight two things: the importance of joining stock investment and the importance of being active in stocks trading. By making this video, I want to tell all people especially those who are at young age that investment is important for their future and Mandiri can answer their needs very well. Also, those “sleeping clients” can realize that being active will bring them many benefits and that the company cares for them.

Results of the study support video modeling as an effective job skill teaching tool. Significant skill acquisition in composing a professional e-mail occurred across all participants. Seventy-five percent of participants concluded the study at mastery level. Implications of this study are immediately impactful on the ASD community as a new evidence-based transition tool can be made readily available. Use of this tool to acquire the professional e-mailing skill will add to the job-seeking skill set and may increase the likelihood of achieving gainful employment.

Abstract:
In March 2015 Australia became the 50th country in which US video streaming company Netflix had set up a local operation to supplement its planned global expansion in 200 countries. Newcomers Presto and Stan also joined in to further add to the extraordinary rate of growth of all forms of video traffic in Australia, now over half of Telstra’s Internet business. So who is Netflix, and how well might it expand its business in addition to those customers in Australia who are already using virtual private networks (VPNs) to access and pay for their programmes? The company began as a DVD on-line mail rental service in the US over fifteen years ago, but its management always saw the huge potential to use the Internet as –“direct mail on steroids”– for the on-line delivery of movies to homes. Whilst Netflix commendably offers more choice of programmes for Australian viewers, an examination of its business model could hardly support the notion that the established commercial television networks now face a fundamental existential threat. Nor should the notion of “mass digital connectivity” be taken for granted – not only because Australia still has so far go to reach ubiquity of the connection of homes to high capacity broadband, but also because of the serious lack of affordability of direct user pay services for so many Australians. The most likely future scenario is the on-line streamers will be welcomed by a growing number of paying customers, but as a complementary sector to the strong network television incumbents.

Abstract:
Abstract Context.—Digital technology is commonly used for documentation of specimens in anatomic pathology and has been mainly limited to still photographs. Technologic innovations, such as digital video, provide additional, in some cases better, options for documentation. Objective.—To demonstrate the applicability of digital video to the documentation of surgical specimens. Design.—A Canon Elura MC40 digital camcorder was used, and the unedited movies were transferred to a Macintosh PowerBook G4 computer. Both the camcorder and specimens were hand-held during filming. The movies were edited using the software iMovie. Annotations and histologic photographs may be easily incorporated into movies when editing, if desired. Results.—The finished movies are best viewed in computers which contain the free program QuickTime Player. Movies may also be incorporated onto DVDs, for viewing in standard DVD players or appropriately equipped computers. The final movies are on average 2 minutes in duration, with a file size between 2 and 400 megabytes, depending on the intended use. Because of file size, distribution is more practical via CD or DVD, but movies may be compressed for distribution through the Internet (e-mail, Web sites) or through internal hospital networks. Conclusions.—Digital video is a practical, easy, and affordable methodology for specimen documentation, permitting a better 3-dimensional understanding of the specimens. Discussions with colleagues, student education, presentation at conferences, and other educational activities can be enhanced with the implementation of digital video technology.

What does the Song Show? Popular Music on Soviet Television. Part 2. 1980s (by Dariya Zhurkova) continues to analyze the problems of popular songs’ adaptation to the rules of television shows. This part of the research is based on the example of “The Morning Mail” - a popular TV program in 1980s. The article traces the arrival and development of music video clips on television. Moreover, the article discovers the main role of television in creation of the cult of civilizational benefits and of the institute of “stars”, despite the fact that the processes actually ran counter to the official policy and ideology.

There are few occupations where people do not work together to achieve goals. Yet much of the education that students receive is individual, faculty-directed learning. Within all areas of education the need for teamwork is being recognized. This is particularly so in computing disciplines, where it is assumed that after graduating many students will join development teams. In addition, the availability of better communications systems such as e-mail and desktop video conferencing encourages collaboration between geographically separated people. If students are to benefit from the experience of collaborative team projects, faculty must resolve important issues concerning group dynamics, pedagogy, and administration.

Abstract:
The article deals with the electronic segment in criminal procedural law in Latvia. It analyses both specialized electronic tools of criminal procedure in the form of information system (judicial information system) and non-specialized electronic tools of criminal procedure. The author studies the requirements for electronic recording of specific investigatory actions (interrogation of a juvenile victim and witness, questioning, exhumation, line-up for identification). The research focuses as well on the electronic component of special investigatory actions (correspondence control, communication facilities control, data control in an automated data processing system, content control of the transmitted data, audio or video location control, individual audio control). It provides further evidence for the possibility of implementing procedural actions using technical means (telephone conference, videoconference) if the interests of criminal proceedings so require. It is made clear that it is the duty of individual subjects of criminal proceedings at the request of the person who administers the proceedings to immediately notify in writing postal or e-mail address for managing written communications. The author outlines the terms for sending notifications in criminal proceedings and subpoenas to the individual’s email address. The article also investigates the procedure for publishing electronic images of a detainee, suspect, victim and witness in the media. It studies the regulations for recording the course of a court hearing in full size using audio, video or other technical means, as well as recording the parole by means of electronic surveillance. According to the results of the study, the author proposes to take into account a number regulations in criminal procedural law in Latvia when developing proposals for improving domestic criminal procedural law, including: interrogation of a minor using technical means and a psychologist in another room; the obligation to provide in writing postal or e-mail address for managing written communications and the possibility of sending a notification as for the decision with the enclosed copies to that e-mail address; sending summons to an email address; the procedure for the publication in the media of images of the suspect, victim and witness taken during the proceedings; arranging the parole using electronic surveillance.

Abstract:
Internet-based platforms are increasingly used to collect qualitative data. We conducted a quasi-experimental study to explore whether data collection mode affects data content and data collection costs. Participants ( N = 171) were assigned systematically to one of four modes—(1) in-person (control), (2) online video–based, (3) online chat–based, (4) online e-mail/message board-based—and randomized to individual interview (IDI) or focus group (FG). We conducted 48 IDIs and 24 FGs about medical risk during pregnancy with women in the southeast United States. We found audiovisual (in-person and online video) modes generated significantly greater volumes of data than online text–based modes. However, there were no significant differences in the thematic content among modes, for IDIs or FGs. Online data collection generally cost more per event without travel; in-person IDIs/FGs were more expensive if including travel. Findings offer empirical data for considerations of online versus in-person qualitative data collection.

Abstract:
We examined the relative effectiveness of gain- versus loss-framed videotaped messages designed to increase colorectal cancer (CRC) screening among low-income Caucasians, African Americans, and Mexican Americans. The participants were 164 people living in low-income neighborhoods. Participants watched either a gain-framed or a loss-framed videotape. They completed pre- and post-video questionnaires and received a take-home immunoassay Fecal Occult Blood Test (iFOBT) kit that they were asked to use and return by mail. Multivariate logistic regression analyses indicated that iFOBT return rates varied significantly by ethnicity (p < .002) and framing condition (p < .004). Screening kits were returned by 68.4% of Caucasians, 37.7% of African Americans, and 64.8% of Mexican Americans; 65.0% of participants who saw the gain-framed video returned the iFOBT kit, but only 50.0% of those who saw the loss-framed video returned the kit. Framing made a difference only for Caucasians, and the direction of the difference was opposite from the direction predicted. The return rate for Latinos was similar to that for Caucasians; however, Latino rates did not vary as a function of type of framing. It is possible that message framing must be specifically targeted if it is to be effective for Latinos and African Americans.

Technology is being used and improved by human beings over a long period of time now and Smartphones is one of them. Smart Phones contain touch screen, built in keyboard, high resolution camera, front side camera for video conferencing, etc. They are used for making and receiving calls, sending and receiving messages, accessing the Internet, digital media, incorporating audio/video recording etc. Different smart phones have different operating systems and mobile applications are developed for each operating system in smart phones, tablet or mobile phones, in order to serve the needs of the user. These apps are either preinstalled or downloadable from online app market that can do almost everything. Apps make a mobile be like a portable computer having multi core processors, gigabytes of memory and a real operating system. Originally mobile apps were made available for only calling, messaging and informational purposes like calendar, weather forecast, e- mail, etc. With improvement in technology and increase in user demands, developers started making apps for other purposes like games, banking, video chats etc. Some apps are also used to present data in the same format as on a computer website and also allow you to download content that you can use when there is no Internet. There are many apps available in market today for different Operating Systems in which Android is having the maximum market share these days.

This paper examines the potential benefits of an alternative type of engagement with sport than is commonly considered in the literature on sport and international development. The research explored the extent to which students from one UK and two Ghanaian universities were empowered through working together to identify proposals for sports equipment in Ghana. A multimethod research design used video diaries and e-mail, text message, verbal and focus group interviews. The findings indicate a number of project design factors that constrained the empowerment of Ghanaian students. However, both Ghanaian and UK students were strongly motivated by, and developed new skills because of, the innovative nature of the project. Similar projects in the future can contribute further to the empowerment of young adults, if designed appropriately.

Abstract:
In this investigative study, the authors sought to reveal the learning strategies adopted by participants as they learned to play a 12-bar improvised blues with both hands together on a musical keyboard in an e-learning environment. There were 3 participants, 2 female and 1 male. Participants’ average age was 21 years. They worked individually in an e-learning environment with the assistance of “Blues Activities” text and supporting audio material. A remote facilitator was available via e-mail to provide advice, support, and encouragement during and after each of the learning sessions. Video observation techniques were employed, and a coding scheme emerged via a qualitative analysis procedure. A time analysis of the video data based on the emergent coding scheme revealed the percentages of time participants spent in five distinct learning activities, which were interpreted as instruction, copying, practicing, playing, and evaluating. The findings of the current study provide an insight into the learning strategies adopted by these 3 participants in this particular learning situation and provide empirical support for theories of learning to play by ear proposed in prior research reviewed in this article.

The world is becoming increasingly one multicultural Global village and business and education transnational, which implies that students will need to recognize accept and adjust to cultural differences in communications to succeed in their studies as well as in their future careers. This presentation is fundamentally about a niftier way of intercultural learning and knowledge-acquisition that adapts video-conferencing and Internet technology to build Web-based successful learning communities. Students can meet on interactive camera at least twice per week and thereafter at any time using Google-mail during the semester effectively forming a knowledge community. The learning community can collaborate to develop the capacity to create diffuse and distribute experiential knowledge in boundary-less and Global-campuses in virtual environments. Students from different universities will cohere to understand each other's culture without leaving their own countries. The method is cost-effective as compared to similar costly semester abroad and hiked out-of-state tuition rates. Students can access additional resources to enhance cultural competencies from the virtual libraries and faculty facilitating in the program without leaving their campuses.

As communication technology improves, computer-mediated communication (CMC) increases in use for interpersonal interaction. While there are newer forms of CMC that interface with audio, graphic, and video data, for the most part text-based CMC (i.e., e-mail, IRC, other text chat) remains the most common and frequently used. The increased use of text-based CMC medium is not without its problems, as is the case with any other communication media. Text only CMC lacks the capacity to transmit nonverbal cues. This study explores CMC medium in communication misunderstandings. The findings indicate that although participants acknowledge the lack of nonverbal cues as a source of misunderstandings during interactions, they still express the willingness to use text-based CMC in resolving misunderstandings. Based on the study of mathematic problems created by Clements in 1970 and 1983 in Penang, it was found that students in Malaysia do not have a problem of serious thought. However, the real problem is related to read, understand and make the right transformation when solving mathematical problems, especially those involving mathematical word problem solving. Communication is one of the important elements in the process of solving problems that occur in the teaching and learning of mathematics. Students have the opportunities to engage in mathematic communication such as reading, writing and listening and at least have two advantages of two different aspects of communication which are to study mathematics and learn to communicate mathematically. Abstract:
The article states that the reform of contemporary vocal education based on the principles of civilization integration of different, sometimes quite distant from each other, musical cultures, traditions and practices on the one hand, and the necessity for free access to the world vocal-performing and vocal-pedagogical experience on the other. In this regard, information and communication technologies (ICT) are becoming one of the most effective components of the educational process in primary specialized artistic educational institutions in the context of non-classical contemporary vocal. In the article, this issue is considered from the attitude of activity and culture appropriate approaches to learning. Based on the analysis of scientific and pedagogical sources on contemporary vocal pedagogy in the context of the use of ICT, the following methods and their respective means are separated: the methods of familiarization (3D technology, animation technology, audiovisual ICT); methods of work on vocal techniques (audio, visual and audiovisual ICT, computer, synthesizers, dictaphone, etc.); methods of work on the features of musical language and improvisation (audio, visual and audiovisual ICT, computer, video content, synthesizers, iReal-Pro, etc.); methods of preparing vocal repertoire (software for downloading, editing and storing information, notes and audio editors, etc.); methods of preparation and implementation of public performance (3D technology, animation technology, graphic and audio editors, video camera, voice recorder, dictaphone, video content, computer, mobile devices, etc.); methods of communication (computer, mobile devices, e-mail, instant messaging technology, social networks, messengers, video and audio conferencing systems, Internet, etc.), monitoring methods (video camera, dictaphone, memory cards and storage devices, etc.) The conclusions state that the methodological findings regarding the use of ICT in teaching of contemporary vocal are fragmented and do not constitute systematic methodological knowledge, what actualizes the problem of further research on the use of ICT and protection from artificial intelligence threats in the process of formation a contemporary non-classical vocal-performing thesaurus at pupils of specialized art educational institutions and institutions of non-formal art education.

Abstract:
One quarter of the US population suffers from a diagnosable mental illness, and society is becoming more educated about these diseases and the medications used to treat them. Inasmuch as pharmacy is considered one of the most trusted professions, it is imperative that pharmacists have a good understanding of psychotropics to properly counsel their patients. However, psychopharmacology is often given disproportionate coverage in most pharmacy curricula considering the frequency of these illnesses. For future pharmacists to gain much-needed knowledge, a psychiatric pharmacy clerkship rotation can be instrumental in developing competence through patient consultations and in performing drug regimen reviews. Integrating simple technologies into a clerkship can greatly reduce the burden on the preceptor and provide a consistent and fulfilling experience for the student. Educators in nursing and medicine have used various technologies with much success, albeit in mostly a classroom environment. Applicable media include e-mail, the Internet, personal digital assistants, CD-ROM programs, and video teleconferencing. Various basic and advanced techniques, such as making monthly calendars and using CD-ROM media to free Web-based video teleconferencing, are described in detail to assist preceptors in using these technologies for their rotations. The future potential of the addition of technology into education is only limited by one's imagination and the tools available.

Abstract:
This research aims to analyze market analysis Online based online consumer segmentation, profile and their characteristics. In the first stage of this study conducted a survey related to the Online consumer behavior literature, then perform cluster analysis and segmentation Online consumer spending behavior. A sampel of 328 respondents collected by mail survey. In order to perform segmentation according to usage patterns internet can use descriptive method non-overlapping post-hoc, this method is used to identify segments in accordance with the pattern of internet usage. Results showed that the consumer market Online consists of three segments that are generally commonly used are: segmentation pattern Basic Communication, in this segment of consumers who use the Internet primarily to communicate via e-mail, then the segment of Commerce or shopping in this segment of consumers who using the internet to surf and look around online stores and third segments of social relationships and pleasure, in this segment of consumers who exploit the internet using interactive features to interact and entertainment by way of chatting, blogging, video streaming, gaming, stalking and downloading. Limitations include data collected through a survey whose information comes from the Internet, so it takes the views of other parties who are not users but observers Online businesses that have other opinions on this segmentation. Later on this segmentation actually still can be broken down into several sub-segments, as continued research efforts.Keyword: Internet use pattern, segment, online sonsumer

Abstract:
Abstract The 31 May 2013 El Reno, Oklahoma, tornado is used to demonstrate how a video imagery database crowdsourced from storm chasers can be time-corrected and georeferenced to inform severe storm research. The tornado’s exceptional magnitude (∼4.3-km diameter and ∼135 m s−1 winds) and the wealth of observational data highlight this storm as a subject for scientific investigation. The storm was documented by mobile research and fixed-base radars, lightning detection networks, and poststorm damage surveys. In addition, more than 250 individuals and groups of storm chasers navigating the tornado captured imagery, constituting a largely untapped resource for scientific investigation. The El Reno Survey was created to crowdsource imagery from storm chasers and to compile submitted materials in a quality-controlled, open-access research database. Solicitations to storm chasers via social media and e-mail yielded 93 registrants, each contributing still and/or video imagery and metadata. Lightning flash interval is used for precise time calibration of contributed video imagery; when combined with georeferencing from open-source geographical information software, this enables detailed mapping of storm phenomena. A representative set of examples is presented to illustrate how this standardized database and a web-based visualization tool can inform research on tornadoes, lightning, and hail. The project database offers the largest archive of visual material compiled for a single storm event, accessible to the scientific community through a registration process. This approach also offers a new model for poststorm data collection, with instructional materials created to facilitate replication for research into both past and future storm events.
