Traditional smoke detection methods need sensors close to the source of the smoke. In order to avoid this disadvantage, this thesis presents a method for indoor video based smoke detection. In addition, it helps to improve the success rate of detection, as well as reducing the false detection rate of suspected smoke. This method consists of two parts. First, we create a Gaussian mixture model to detect smoke color pixels. Then, we use the smoke’s dynamic features to detect the smoke area and extract it from the area found in the first step, and in that way we can find the real smoke area. Our

We proposed a real time image processing technologies by Hough Transform to describe the lanes. We not only consider about the different brightness but also the color of the environment to enhance the lane recognition rate. The frequency of the lane-change information were regarded the driver’s driving behavior. In this paper, we improved the analysis of the lane-change status by analysis the HSV color histogram. After

Video-based fire detection is currently a fairly common application with the growth in the number of installed surveillance video systems. However, fast detecting smoke without creating a false alarm remains a challenging problem for open or large spaces with the disturbances of common moving objects, such as pedestrians and vehicles. Hence, two important targets for improving video-based smoke detector are the short reaction time and the low false al

Basically there are two types of shot transitions: abrupt shot transition (cut) and gradual shot transition including dissolve, wipe and fade. Besides, we also define a special kind of shot transition, called fast-pan, which is mainly caused by fast camera pan action. In the thesis, we proposed a learning-base

We extract a set of collaborative trajectories in a video, and use the velocity and acceleration entropies of the trajectories to represent the video. It allows the use of long-term motions to alleviate short-term noises, and detects object motions of various temporal lengths. On the other hand, we are inspired by the observation that the background trajectories are consistent and enclosed by the dominant camera motion no matter

Especially in mobile devices, wireless network traffic and storage space are more critical. Super-resolution (SR) technology used to reconstruct high-frequency information can solve these issues. The previous work has realized the wavelet-based SR technique for the video consisting of high-resolution key frames and low-resolution non-key frames. The dif

One of the most important applications of wireless sensor networks is to detect a target or event in a region of interest and the detection performance such as the latency of detection is affected by sensor deployment dramatically. Most of prior studies for target detection assume that each sensor node performs the detection tasks independently using a simple binary detection model. This trivial detection strategy may result in
