Doctor of Philosophy
Department of Special Education, Counseling and Student Affairs
Linda P. Guided by the work of Hurtado and Carter (1997) and social support theory (Sarason & Sarason, 1985), various aspects of the college experience both inside and outside the classroom were examined. In-depth interviews were conducted in order to gain insight i

Abstract:
This research used an Interpretative Phenomenological Approach to explore how Christians, who have had an inpatient mental health admission, experience the views of their local faith community and those of their NHS mental health staff caring for them. I recruited eight participants (six female and two male) and interviewed them using a semi-structured interview format. The analysis suggests that participants could experience both the church and the mental health systems positively, as a "sanctuary", or negatively, as a "prison." Participants gave accounts of both the church and the mental hea

Papanikolaou, Panagiotis G. O. "Exploratory study of using the discrete choice experiment technique in nursing : an application to ascertain the views of community nurses when dealing with alternative pressure ulcer preventive treatments (care plans) for elderly at risk." Thesis, Cardiff University, 2007. http://orca.cf.ac.uk/54595/.

Abstract:
One of the first activities in preventing pressure ulcers is the early identification of individuals who are susceptible to developing them. If a person is identified as susceptible or 'at risk', it is the health care professional's duty to ensure that preventive measures are implemented. The earliest phases of pressure ulcer development may show no outward visible signs of damage. Therefore it is important that individuals' at risk* are given an immediate prevention plan.

Abstract:
Near real-time event streams are a key feature in many popular social media applications. These types of applications allow users to selectively follow event streams to receive a curated list of real-time events from various sources. Due to the emphasis on recency, relevance, personalization of content, and the highly variable cardinality of social subgraphs, it is extremely difficult to implement feed following at the scale of major social media applications. This leads to multiple architectural approaches, but no consensus has been reached as to what is considered to be an idiomatic solution

This paper considers the contribution of participation to improved service delivery in the health service. For beneficiaries, participation can be about ownership and responsibility for the ser
