Abstract:
This article argues that the debate over the fate of Le Corbusier's Villa Savoye (1928-1931) in Poissy, France-which was in derelict condition by the 1950s-occasioned an international reconsideration of the architect's work as well as a reconsideration of the French architectural patrimony. The author argues that, while the house has been discussed since the time of its completion in largely formal terms, more recent scholarship has opened up the debate on the material circumstances of its construction and the ideological implications of its design. As part of this new perspective, it is important to understand the house not simply as a universally applicable design solution by its architect, but as an object that was altered and restored in response to changing perceptions of Le Corbusier and his work. The process by which the Villa Savoye was preserved, restored, and established as an official historic monument of the French state, between c. 1958 and 1967, brought about a reconceptualization of modernist architecture and of the historic monument in France. Modernist architecture, including the Villa Savoye, was incorporated during the postwar period into a celebratory cultural history of France. Among government administrators who participated in this process was André Malraux, who in the postwar period attempted to reconstruct France's international prestige on the basis of its cultural production. Prodded into action on behalf of the Villa Savoye by architects, critics, and scholars around the world, as well as by an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Malraux finally acknowledged that the work of Le Corbusier could be admitted into the corpus of monuments on which French identity was to be built.

Abstract:
A Segunda Revolução Industrial proporcionou avanços tecnológicos em diversos campos do conhecimento, entre eles a arquitetura, onde o surgimento de novos materiais – a exemplo do concreto, do aço e do vidro – possibilitaram a criação de novas formas a partir das concepções dos principais arquitetos do período. Nesta direção, este artigo propõe algumas reflexões sobre o pensamento do arquiteto Le Corbusier (1887-1965), expressos em suas ideias e conceitos perpetuados como: “a casa é uma máquina de morar” e “promenade architecturale”. Utilizando como metodologia de investigação a pesquisa bibliográfica apoiada nas referências encontradas sobre a Villa Savoye, projetada por este arquiteto e construída em Poissy na França, entre 1929-31. Considerando-se que, a residência se tornou um dos principais símbolos da arquitetura moderna por representar a síntese das premissas corbusianas apresentadas nos “cinco pontos” da arquitetura moderna, concebidos em 1926, entendemos que, a partir de uma análise detalhada sobre a edificação – de sua história à sua concepção e execução, possamos estar contribuindo com futuros estudos que promovam desdobramentos ao tema.

Abstract:
Dalam penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa unsur bentuk merupakan alat pokok dalam perencanaan dan perancangan yang bertujuan memaparkan dan menggolongkan pembahasan berupa analisis dari bentuk–bentuk dasar yang ada serta perannya dalam organisasi ruang. Sejalan dengan zaman terjadi perubahan – perubahan umum dalam perencanaan yang akhirnya menjadi problematika seorang perancang untuk memilih, menguji dan memanipulasi unsur-unsur tersebut sehingga saling terkait satu sama lain hingga bermakna. Pengorganisian ruang dari fungsi dan fasade dari bentuk dasar, serta struktur merupakan enclosure (kesatuan) yang menghasilkan sebuah desain atau karya Arsitektur sesuai kegiatannya dan tujuannya. Sebagian besar penelitian ini merujuk kepada gambar hasil karya arsitektur pada zaman moderen beserta teorinya. Serentetan gaya-gaya historis muncul berkali-kali dengan tujuan menggugah perasaan untuk mencari kesamaan yang terdapat di dalam formasi yang tampaknya berbeda. Pemahaman atas kesamaan dari contoh bentuk secara historis akan membantu menunjukan perbedaanya sesuai gaya dan zamannya. Pebahasan akan difokuskan pada karya Le Corbusier seorang Arsitek yang hidup di zaman moderen dalam rentang waktu 1887 dan wafat 1965 ,sehingga karyanya disebut bergaya moderen.Pada desain rumah tinggal Villa Savoye , Poissy, Paris (1928) yang dibangun untuk ibunya .Le Corbusier menjelaskan Lima point dalam Arsitektur (five Points of a new Architecture)– a free plan, a free facade, pilotis, a terrace and ribbon Windows yang berarti bahwa, Arsitektur moderen mempunyai ciri ciri bentuk yang sederhana ,bersih tanpa ornamen,ruang ruang yang tanpa sekat, dengan menonjolkan struktur dari bangunan (pilotis),serta mempunyai teras dan jendela. Pada penelitian ini akan mengexplorasi beberapa karya dari Lee corbusier sebagai pembuktian yang akan memperlihatkan lima point dalam karya arsitektur Lee Corbusier.

Esta dissertação pretende analisar a forma como o percurso é um elemento importante na estruturação do projecto de arquitectura a diferentes escalas. A Promenade Architecturale é um tema muito contemporâneo abordado por Le Corbusier na Villa Savoye, até aí este tema tinha sido referido como circulação, duas designações muito distintas. O percurso é desenhado atraves de uma estratégia de conjugação de espaços e diferentes elementos de forma a guiar o observador ao longo do espaço. As obras estudadas ao longo dos seguintes capítulos são importantes para caracterizar este elemento condutor de espaço, uma das características mais destacáveis de toda a obra de Le Corbusier.
