Full textThis study has precise goals and a theme : the treatment of the subject moving from the general to the particular - a complete historical study, a general study of the town if Isfahan and an analytic study of the old quarters; the detailed study ranges from the image of - the city and the programmes for change to the concrete proposals for the development of the center of Dardachte. In the course of this study we have made a great effort to reveal existing problems affecting the historic unity in the old quarters, problems with which the inhabitants must cope and possible solutions in the domains of urbanism and architecture. These proposed solutions seek to preserve the old, in order to encourage the current population to remain, and also respond to their present needs : urban convenience, ease of access, improvement in the quality of life etc

Full textThe reconstruction of towns destroyed during the war, or because of natural disasters poses a major problem, and is one often faced by third world countries. And yet, these countries are the most deprived and least well equipped to confront such disasters. The redevelopment of these towns is even more problematic when dealing with historic towns, with strong cultural values and an important architectural heritage. The town of Tabas falls exactly into this category, and our work is a testimony of its historic development, an observation of its rapid transformation after the earthquake of 1978, and also a detailed research to start an adequate urban project for its future development

Full textThis thesis intends to present a comparative study of renewal and metropolization in Hamadan (Iran) and in Grenoble (France). Firstly, in subsequent of the introduction I begin to present the method of research. Afterwards, I study the impact of historic and geographic factors on the foundation and on the development of these two cities. I complete this presentation of foundation and configuration of Hamadan and Grenoble by studying of the impact of major events which happened at the last decades of XIX th and firsts decades of XX th centuries: the impact of 1931s Master plan of Hamadan and the impact of finding the Houille Blanch in Grenoble. In the second part I analyze the role of different actors. By analyzing the collected data, the city maps, memories and archives, I try to demonstrate how the globalization, the industrialization, economic and social transformation and the development of universities have transformed the urban space. By studying a selection of historical monuments in these two cities, I analyze the transformation of urban heritage and the role of different actors in the preservation and upgrading of their urban spaces in the different social, politic and economic context. As a conclusion of this study, I present firstly a summary of the comparative maps of chronological reconstruction expansion of Hamadan and Grenoble. It will permit me to have a vision about important dates of these two cities and the role of different actors. Afterwards, I present the outcomes of my research and also some perspectives about Hamadan and Grenoble future’s developments. The research completes by a glossary, bibliography, a table of the sigils, the annex and the index

Full textWe have expected to sensitize through this urbanistique, historical and archtecturale research on the one hand the public including the traders who trade insede the bazar, and on the other hand the state who is responsable to (pay attention to) bazar. It has been necessery to show the importance of this town which is the subject of our research. The following chapter argues the overall picture of Ghasvine's bazar, we have gone into all the details for better understanding the problems which the bazar of Ghazvine has been and still is engaged in. We try to use the computer system in order to valorize more the bazar of Ghazvine by presenting its plan withe the help of the digitalization's technic and showing the basis plan ( air map) in three dimensions. The last chapter is about the suggestions to fit out some parts and rehbilitate the other. We would like to propose first of all the vital and permanent functions for the existing buldings then suggest reconstruction of insalubrious parts and finally forseeing the construction of the vacant land of drawing board to give an outine ( general idea) of proposed plan. On the other hand we suggest the equipements like + the receptions and leisuries ; which are disppeared nowadvs

Full textThis thesis addresses the issue of the conservation of historic towns in central Iran, mostly built with raw earth materials. These have become ill-adapted to the evolution of society and inserted into a vast and dispersed modern urban fabric. The thesis reveals the close relationship between the historic town and its domestic architecture with the traditional society, family and social structure matters as well as the customs, ceremonies and festive rites that define the lives of urban populations. Heritage is clearly studied through the prism of history and the values of traditional society that aspires both to modernity and the preservation of its cultural heritage, thus dealing with conflicting and complex issues in the quest to incorporate heritage in a process of cultural and social evolution. Facing the development challenges posed by the modern city, the tourism industry and globalization, the preservation of cultural, social, economic, scientific and historic values in Iran and the transmission of a heritage that is highly exposed to degradation due to large mutations at different scales (architecture, city and territory), represent major challenges for today's Iranian society. Thus, the research analyzes the qualities of a heritage that has defined its character in a close and harmonious relationship with a desert environment. It demonstrates that it would be beneficial to take into full consideration a knowledge and know-how of proven high intelligence but now at risk of extinction, even though they remain fully relevant in view of the challenges of sustainable development today. This thesis illustrates the case of the city of Yazd, particularly representative of the issues covered by the research and at the heart of the paradox between urban development and conservation; it highlights the need for an integrated, holistic and multidisciplinary approach to the conservation of the historic towns of central Iran

Full textThis thesis focuses on the spatial analysis of urban regeneration policies in Tehran municipal perimeter. How the urban actions in the last decades, in paradoxical trends, led to a stronger socio-spatial rupture in Tehran? Tehran well-known urban geography shows up a considerable difference between the wealthy North and the poor South, but today, this fracture has been transformed to a new and more complex socio-spatial structure with a deeper opposition between North and South, a more degraded city centre and sprawled peripheries. This new context necessitates an urban renewal, with new policies and methods, taking into account global and local scales.Tehran has experienced various urban plans and operations. These actions were never fully implemented and leaving the capital city of Iran unachieved. The innovative urban renovation policies by the Tehran municipality since 1990, deeply changed both the city’s appearance (building of towers in Northern Tehran) and the urban governance with selling in large scale illegal derogation for higher density of construction permits (Tarakom forushi/Sell of density) in order to finance the city’s budget. The output of multivariable analysis of the physical and social characteristics of the urban districts (112 districts/Nâhiyeh) shows that the most recent policies failed in several issues. It did not improve the vulnerability of old central and south parts of Tehran that could be dramatically hit by a possible major earthquake (400,000 casualties, 55% of buildings damaged); The socio-economic and physical spatial rupture has been strengthened. This empirical study is discussed in the framework of the scientific on urban regeneration dealing especially on the dialectic between micro/local and macro/global (Glocal) issues. Based on this Glocal approach and via a multivariable spatial analysis, a new model is proposed for urban renewal, governance and method of analysis, at the suitable local scale of the districts (nahiyeh) to be used by local or municipal policy makers
