Abstract:
Vincent de Paul emphasized the correct celebration of liturgy, as evidenced by his early writings and initiatives. His concern was addressing the varied and often incorrect liturgical practices he observed. To promote uniformity within the Congregation of the Mission, Vincent and his followers developed the Manual of Roman Ceremonies (1662), led by René Alméras. This manual aimed to standardize liturgical practices among seminarians and priests by adhering closely to the Roman Rite. Despite initial resistance and adaptations to local customs, the manual influenced subsequent Vincentian liturgical practices. Later superiors and prominent Vincentians, such as M. Etienne and Giuseppe Baldeschi, continued to advocate for liturgical precision and uniformity. Their efforts culminated in the formation of the Ephemerides Liturgicae, a significant liturgical publication. Vincentian contributions to liturgy persisted through ongoing teaching and publication efforts, influencing both local and wider church practices up to and including the reforms of the Second Vatican Council.

Abstract:
Known in the United States as the Vincentian Fathers, the Congregation of the Mission is a religious community founded during the early seventeenth century by the French priest Vincent de Paul for the purpose of revitalizing religious life in rural areas through the preaching of parish missions. Such missions began with a sermon on repentance that urged people to make a general confession of all their past sins. The priests continued with a protracted catechesis that lasted for several weeks to several months. In time, Vincent de Paul realized the futility of pumping new life into a parish only to leave it in the hands of an inept or lax pastor. So the Vincentians began establishing seminaries to educate and prepare good priests. Thus parish missions and the training of clergy became the two cardinal tasks of that community.

Abstract:
The expulsion of las Hermanas de la Caridad was a highly contentious battle in Mexico’s nineteenth-century war between Church and State. Las Hermanas—who staffed and administrated Mexico City’s hospitals for three decades (1844–1874)—are generally portrayed as the adventitious victims of President Lerdo de Tejada’s attacks on religion. Using records from Mexico City’s Secretary of Health archive, this article argues that public health officials were a major force behind the expulsion, and that the sisters were ultimately ousted not just because they symbolized the rising influence of Vincentians in Mexico, but also because their medical and administrative autonomy represented a threat to scientific and state authorities.

Abstract:
Vincentius Kristus Raja (KR) Main Clinic aims to serve patients effectively and economically in an effort to improve the quality of public health services, especially in Surabaya. This type of research is descriptive qualitative in the form of a case study, to assess the implementation of standard operating procedures at the Vincentius Kristus Raja Main Clinic. Relevant data collection was carried out using questionnaires distributed to personnel related to standard operating procedures. The results of the research study according to the questionnaire indicate that the operational implementation is in accordance with the standard operating procedures that have been set based on the policies of the leadership and the Vincentius Kristus Raja Main Clinic Foundation. Compliance with standard operating procedures is very important because standard operating procedures are guidelines or references for carrying out tasks and work in accordance with their functions. The conclusions and suggestions from this study are that although compliance with standard operating procedures is adequate, the Vincentius Kristus Raja Main Clinic needs to develop and improve the quality of services, especially better communication with patients, both new patients and patients who have been on treatment for a long time at the Vincentius Kristus Raja Main Clinic. Considering that there are now many new health clinics that can be competitors for the Vincentius Kristus Raja Main Clinic, there must be a good response to this phenomenon. The emergence of these new competitors requires the Vincentius Kristus Raja Main Clinic to be able to be competitive in order to face the existing competition by improving the quality and quality of service for patients.

Abstract:
Elasmobranch fishes (sharks, skates and rays) possess a highly sensitive electrosensory system that enables them to detect weak electric fields, such as those produced by potential prey organisms. Despite several comparative anatomical studies, the functional significance of interspecific variation in electrosensory system morphology remains poorly understood. In the present study, we directly tested the electrosensitivity of two benthic elasmobranchs that share a similar habitat and feed on similarly sized prey items (Port Jackson sharks, Heterodontus portusjacksoni, and western shovelnose rays, Aptychotrema vincentiana), but differ significantly in their electrosensory system morphology. Aptychotrema vincentiana possesses almost five times the number of electrosensory pores of H. portusjacksoni (~1190 and ~239 respectively), yet both species are able to initiate feeding responses to electric-field gradients below 1 nV cm–1, similar to other elasmobranch species tested. However, A. vincentiana showed a greater ability to resolve the specific location of electrosensory stimuli, because H. portusjacksoni would more often overshoot the target and have to turn around to locate it. These results suggested that differences in abundance and distribution of electrosensory pores have little to no effect on the absolute electrical sensitivity in elasmobranchs, and instead, may reflect species-specific differences in the spatial resolution and directionality of electroreception.

Abstract:
SUMMARYThe infection biology of Branchotenthes octohamatus (Monogenea: Hexabothriidae) from the gills of the southern fiddler ray, Trygonorrhina fasciata (Rhinobatidae), was studied using the fluorescent dye, 5(6)-carboxyfluorescein diacetate N-succinimidyl ester (CFSE). This is the first use of this technique on a monogenean species with unciliated larvae and the first for any monogenean larva infecting an elasmobranch host. CFSE-labelled post-larvae were recovered from gills of T. fasciata within 30 min of exposure to the host, providing strong evidence that larvae invade host gills directly and do not migrate after initial attachment elsewhere. The rapidity with which larvae settled suggests that the mode of infection may deliver larvae directly to the gills via the host's inhalant respiratory current. The specificity of B. octohamatus was investigated by exposing a sympatric rhinobatid host species, the western shovelnose ray, Aptychotrema vincentiana, to B. octohamatus larvae newly emerged from eggs laid by adult parasites from gills of T. fasciata. Experimental exposure of A. vincentiana to freshly hatched B. octohamatus larvae resulted in a persistent infection, indicating that B. octohamatus may not be strictly host specific. Post-larval development charted on these experimentally infected A. vincentiana specimens was slow. Parasites appeared to be sexually mature at 91 days at 21–25°C. Branchotenthes octohamatus larvae bear only 4 pairs of hooklets on the haptor whereas all other hexabothriid larvae described so far have 5 hooklet pairs. Ontogenetic changes to the haptor revealed that it is probably hooklet pair III that is lost from B. octohamatus prior to larval development.

Abstract:
The present study has tested statistically the hypothesis that the diets of four abundant and co-occurring elasmobranch species differ and change with body size and season and has determined the extent of any differences, to ascertain their potential for reducing competition for food resources. Non-metric multivariate analyses of volumetric contributions of dietary categories to stomach contents demonstrated that the dietary compositions of the rays Myliobatis australis and Aptychotrema vincentiana and the sharks Heterodontus portusjacksoni and Squatina australis in south-western Australian waters differed. M. australis fed predominantly on benthic invertebrates, whereas A. vincentiana consumed large volumes of teleosts. The durophagous H. portusjacksoni ingested a wide variety of prey, including gastropods, cephalopods, bivalves, echinoderms and teleosts, whereas S. australis ingested mainly teleosts and cephalopods. The extent and pattern of change in the diet with increasing body size varied among species. For example, the diet of H. portusjacksoni changed abruptly to larger, harder-bodied prey at ∼400-mm total length, whereas that of S. australis underwent small, gradual changes with increasing body size. The diets of each species changed seasonally. Inter- and intraspecific variations in dietary composition reduce the potential for competition between and within these abundant elasmobranch species in south-western Australian waters.

Possession of hooked, distinctively discolorous styles, a broadly flabellate common bract subtending each flower pair, and a lignotuber place a putative new species, Banksia sp. Jervis Bay, in the B. spinulosa complex. Phenetic analysis of individuals from all named taxa in the B. spinulosa complex, including B. sp. Jervis Bay, based on leaf, floral, seed and bract characters support recognition of this species, which is described here as Banksia vincentia M.L.Stimpson & P.H.Weston. Known only from fourteen individuals, B. vincentia is distinguished by its semi-prostrate habit, with basally prostrate, distally ascending branches from the lignotuber, and distinctive perianth colouring. Abstract:
Desiccation tolerance (DT) is the ability of an organism or structure to dry completely and subsequently survive in that air-dry state. Hornworts are excellent plant models to study desiccation effects as they have contrasting life histories which are likely associated with DT. We tested whether (1) epiphytic species had more efficient DT responses to drying and postrehydration than non-epiphytic species and whether (2) “green” spores were more sensitive than non-green spores to extreme drying. Hornwort species were collected from the Atlantic Forest of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. We studied five species (gametophytes and spores: Dendroceros crispus, D. crispatus, Nothoceros vincentianus, Phaeoceros carolinianus; and only spores of Anthoceros lamellatus), using different relative humidity values, drying durations, and postrehydration conditions. All DT treatments affected the chlorophyll fluorescence (Fv/Fm) of gametophytes, with species-specific responses. D. crispatus and D. crispus (epiphytes) performed better than P. carolinianus and N. vincentianus, with fast recovery of Fv/Fm values postrehydration. The ability of non-green spores of P. carolinianus and A. lamellatus and green spores of D. crispus to support desiccation led us to reject our second hypothesis. The DT strategies of hornworts highlighted the trade-offs that are important in spore dispersal and plant establishment, such as fast colonization in Dendroceros spp. and potential spore soil banks in Phaeoceros and Anthoceros species.

This study aims to deconstruct the meaning of love in the novel Cinta Terakhir by Vincentius J. Boekan. The novel Cinta Terakhir by Vincentius J. Boekan tells the romance of two human beings, Armando and Rosalia whose meaning is different from love in general. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The results showed that (1) the main character of Armando was a betrayer of love who appeared when Indonesian political conditions were influenced by international politics, then Armando's characters betrayed their love by choosing the NKRI ideology as a fixed price, (2) the nature of patriotism was so inherent in the character's characteristics Armando is very strong towards the ideology of the Republic of Indonesia so Armando prefers to flee with hundreds of thousands of East Timorese people to the West Timor of the Republic of Indonesia and leaves his beloved wife and only daughter in Timor Leste, but Catholic marriage remains husband and wife until death separates.

Abstract:
AbstractThis article provides a description of complex patterns in which a verb combines with a morphologically invariable particle to form a single grammatical and phonological unit in Vincentian creole (VinC). English is replete with what grammars refer to as phrasal and prepositional verbs. Speakers of VinC also resort to these patterns which appear to have retained meanings from English. The combinations investigated testify to some measure of morphological change. Additionally, their semantic outcomes are treated as innovations to the extent that they have either not been attested in English or have degrees of compositionality that differ from those of English items. Arguably, such phrasal combinations are not typically considered relevant to word formation, given that they do not form a unitary element from a grammatical perspective. Evidence is provided to show that combinations of verbs and particles in [V+P]v can be analyzed as a product of compounding.

Abstract:
Evangelization of the poor was the primary concern of Vincent de Paul and his companions. The Second Vatican Council recaptured the missionary spirit of the early Church and stated that the pilgrim Church is “missionary by its very nature”. The Church is born out of the mission of the Son and the Holy Spirit sent by the Father. From the very beginning of the Congregation of the Mission, St. Vincent de Paul and his companions were simply called “Fathers of the Mission.” That means, as our Superior General Fr. Tomaž Mavrič pointed out, from the very beginning there was “a sense of dynamism, movement, going to the peripheries, not being caught in a state of stagnation” in our DNA. During the 43rd General Assembly, the members of the Congregation of the Mission committed themselves to support the Mission ad Gentes effort and reiterated the resolved to set apart at least one percent of confreres to this mission every year and strengthened their commitment to bring the Gospel to all people. Mission and evangelisation in this sense is one of the fundamental qualities of the Congregation of the Mission. Without recapturing this original spirit of “being sent to the nations,” we cannot attain a complete and meaningful revitalisation of our Vincentian identity.

The study was conducted in Agustus 2022 with a cross sectional design use in a study of 30 respondens whose childreen where in a emergency in pediatric ward of at.St. Vincentius Hospital because of DHF case. The level of knowledge of parent was measured by a Guttman scale questionnaire and for DHF prevention behavior using aquestionnaire with a Likert scale. The result of statistical test using fisher extract test on chi square obtained p-value 0,039 < 0,05, so that H0 rejected , which mean that there is a relationship between the level of parental knowledge and the prevention behavior of DHF in the Childreen’s room, St.Vincentius Hospital Singkawang. Parental knowledge about DHF desease greatly influences parental behavior in preventing DHF. Based on research that behavior based and knowledge will be more durable than behavior that is not based on knowledge people will prevent DHF transmission if they know what the goal and benefits are for health. Thus, the suggestion for the Santo Vincentius Hospital is to increase further counseling related to the prevention of DHF both in the hospital environtment and in the community arround the hospital in collaboration with the local government.
