ABSTRACT The concept of Biologic Width has been widely described by periodontists and restorative dentists. An adequate understanding of relationship between periodontal tissues and restorative dentistry is paramount to ensure adequate form, function and esthetics, and comfort of the dentition. While most clinicians are aware of this important relationship, uncertainty remains regarding specific concepts such as biologic width and indications and applications of surgical crown lengthening. Abstract:
The length from the root surface of a tooth to the junctional epithelium and connective tissue attachment is termed as biological width (BW). It protects the tooth from diseases and infections by acting as a natural seal. On an average it is 2.04 mm. In clinical practice the BW is determined by periodontal probe. The calculation of BW can be done by several methods. An identification of BW breach is confirmed when the length is observed to be less than 2 mm at multiple locations or at a single location. When we are considering the prolonged health benefits of any restoration or a natural tooth

We present an analytic calculation of Branching Ratio (BR) and Charge-Parity (CP) violating asymmetries of the [Formula: see text] meson decays to [Formula: see text] by calculating the amplitude and the decay width of the process including the chiral loop and gluon condensate to first-order. We find the BR of [Formula: see text] which is in agreement with other experimental measurements and theoretical predictions. We also calculate the direct CP violation, CP violation in mixing and CP violation due to interference which are [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], r

Abstract:
Maintaining a healthy periodontium around teeth is essential for regular functioning and aesthetics. Crown lengthening is a procedure that is attempted in order to improve both functioning as well as aesthetics. The procedure that will be employed for crown lengthening requires a sound knowledge of biologic width which has to be appropriately maintained under all circumstances. The ideal situation for the periodontium is localizing the filling/ prosthesis supragingivally, which is at least 3 mm from the alveolar process ridge. The gingival margin may be at times uneven and can hamper any other

Most models of animal foraging and consumer choice assume that individuals make choices based on the absolute value of items and are therefore ‘economically rational’. However, frequent violations of rationality by animals, including humans, suggest that animals use comparative valuation rules. Are comparative valuation strategies a consequence of the way brains process information, or are they an intrinsic feature of biological decision-making? Here, we examine the principles of rationality in an organism with radically different information-processing mechanisms: the brainless, unicellular,

BackgroundDespite the ASAS-HI (primary outcome) did not reach statistical significance in the TICOSPA trial, other clinically relevant secondary outcomes were numerically higher in the treat-to-target (T2T) strategy in comparison to Usual Care (UC), including the ASAS-HI. Three hypotheses have been considered to explain this observation: a lack of power, the risk of protocol violations in the T2T arm and the potential optimal care in the UC arm.Objectivesa) To evaluate the proportion of patients (pts) with protocol violations in the T2T group during the 48 weeks (48W) of follow up as well as t

This paper introduces a treatment approach that leads to optimum biologic tissue preservation treated in a conservative manner using fractured fragment as a restorative material. A 21-year-old boy reported for the treatment of complicated crown root fracture in the right permanent maxillary central incisor and lateral incisor (#11 and 12, Federation Dentaire Internationale), the fractured fragments were retained and remained functional by the adhesive bonding of fibre post and the fractured fragment using the surgical intervention to preserve the biologic width. Abstract:
We study CP violation in the process [Formula: see text] at an e+e− TeV collider. As the source of CP violation we assume a two-Higgs doublet model with an explicitly CP- noninvariant Higgs potential. The finite width effects of the neutral Higgs boson in the subprocess reaction, [Formula: see text], give rise to CP-odd observables which can have sizeable values. CPT constraints due to final (initial) state interactions are also taken into account. Numerical estimates of the expected CP asymmetry are given.
