Virtualization and partitioning are the means by which multiple application instances can share and run multiple virtual machines supported by a platform. In a Green Cloud environment, the goal is to consolidate multiple applications onto virtual machines associated by fewer servers, and reduce cost and complexity, increase agility, and lower power and cooling costs. To make Cloud center greener, it is beneficial to limit the amount of active servers to minimize energy consumption. To achieve this, virtualization based server consolidation acts as a vital part in virtual machine placement process. Consolidating the Virtual Machines (VMs) on the Physical Machines (PMs) cuts down the unused physical servers, decreasing the energy consumption, while keeping the constraints for CPU and memory utilization. For more than a decade, researchers have been extensively exploring mobile app testing on virtual devices [1-9], which are software-emulated mobile devices running on commodity servers, in a similar vein as virtual machines (VM) in the cloud. Building on server virtualization, virtual devices naturally inherit the benefits of VM, such as scalability, elasticity, and cost efficiency. Moreover, virtualization enables useful features not offered by physical devices, such as service instrumentation [3], whole-system snapshot [9], and memory introspection [1,2], atop which a series of advanced test

In large-scale computer systems, deciding how to dispatch arriving jobs to servers is a primary factor affecting system performance. Consequently, there is a wealth of literature on designing, analyzing, and evaluating the performance of load balancing policies. For analytical tractability, most existing work on dispatching in large-scale systems makes a key assumption: that the servers are homogeneous, meaning that they all have the same speeds, capabilities, and available resources. But this assumption is not accurate in practice. Modern computer systems are instead heterogeneous: server far

Different virtual machines can share servers, subject to resource constraints. Incoming jobs whose resource requirements cannot be satisfied are queued and receive service according to a preemptive-resume scheduling policy. The problem is to evaluate a cost function, including holding and server costs, with a view to searching for the optimal number of servers. A model with two job types is analyzed exactly and the results are used to develop accurate approximations, which are then extended to more than two classes.
