Abstract:
Vid utveckling av tyngre fordon inför man allt fler avancerade funktione. Mycket av denna funktionalitet handlar om att maskiner automatiskt ska utföra uppgifter för att assistera föraren. Detta leder till att nya risker uppstår. Och till följd av detta har man börjat skapa nya funktionella säkerhetsstandarder. ISO 26262 är en ny funktionell säkerhetsstandard som finns för vanliga personbilar men som ännu inte trätt i kraft för lastbilar. I ISO-26262 standarden ska krav kunna mappas till andra krav samt till systemarkitektur. I nuläget finns det vissa verktyg på marknaden som stödjer användaren när den skriver kravspecifikationer. Men undersökningar av verktyg ledde till att vi kommit fram till att alla hade någon brist. Och ingen hade bra stöd för mappning mellan krav och systemarkitektur. I detta examensarbete har arbetet varit att testa implementera funktionalitet för ett verktyg som assisterar användaren på olika sätt när den skriver kravspecifikationer. Baserat på kontraktteori och konceptet om portar som hjälp för att koppla samman krav med systemarkitektur ska applikationen se till att det finns en formell koppling mellan dessa. För att testa och validera att portar går att använda för att testa intressant funktionalitet har också en applikation utvecklats där mycket funktionalitet implementerats. Resultatet har varit lyckat då vi baserat på kontraktteori lyckats implementera och validera att det är möjligt att använda portar för att skapa koppling mellan krav och systemarkitektur, samt mellan krav och krav. Validering av att det valda lagringsformatet JSON också förser implementeraren med nog starkt stöd för att kunna spara dessa krav så att data i filerna kan brytas ner och lagras i temporära databasen Neo4J och på så sätt skapa ett fungerande kretslopp.<br>When developing new heavy vehicles today demands for increasingly more advanced features are asked for. A lot of the new functionality is about machines performing tasks automatically to assist the driver when driving. This leads to new risks, and as a result a new functional safety standard has been created. ISO 26262 is a functional safety standard that today exists for ordinary cars, but has not yet became a standard for trucks. According to the ISO 26262-standard requirements can be mapped to other requirements as well as to the system architecture. At present there are several tools on the market that supports the user when writing specifications. However, our research of the tools has led us to conclude that all lacked something. For example neither of the tools had good support for mapping between requirements and system architecture. In this thesis work, functionality for a tool which is supposed to support the user in various ways when writing requirements specifications was to be examined. Based on contract theory and the concept of ports that links requirements together with system architecture, an application can ensure that there is a formal link between the two. To test the suggested functionality a prototype is being developed. The result has been a successful as we based on contract theory could validate that using ports to create links between different requirements as well as between requirements and system architecture works through the implementation of the tool. Validation that the selected storage format JSON also provides the implementer with enough support to save the requirements in a way so that the data files can be decomposed and stored in the Neo4J database.

Abstract:
This work is devoted to the problems of algorithms graphical presentation, ways of execution such presentations and instruments enabling conversion of programming code to the above form. The aim of this work is designing and implementing tool enabling to kopenogram graphical presentation of programming codes, developed on the Microsoft.Net framework. The work contains of theoretical and practical parts. Theoretical part contains an introduction into the algorithm graphical presentation theory, methods of providing such presentation and an introduction to the graphical presentation using kopenograms. Practical part includes the design and implementing of a tool for kopenogram presentation based on an analysis of the programming code. The resulting tool is an extension of Microsoft Visual Studio development environment. Also practical part contains implementing guide and a briefing of technologies where used in a current implementation and user manuals with instructions on how to handle.

En el 2014, el grupo de investigación AVATAR lanzó su juego de estrategia en tiempo real “1814: La rebelión del Cuzco”, y ahora desean expandir el contenido del juego con nuevos mapas y niveles. Sin embargo, crear contenido de este tipo requiere iniciar un ciclo de desarrollo extenso y costoso, el cual produce una cantidad limitada de mapas. Frente a esta necesidad, se propone un editor de mapas para el juego. Una herramienta que permite crear una cantidad ilimitada de mapas y, a diferencia de un algoritmo de generación de niveles, aprovecha la creatividad de los jugadores para generar nuevo contenido e interés en el juego. El editor se construyó siguiendo la estructura de un compilador que recibe como entrada un lenguaje visual. Se elaboró primero una interfaz gráfica donde se edita el mapa de forma intuitiva, el cual luego es procesado por el compilador y traducido a una estructura de datos interpretable por el motor de juego. Por último, se realizó una prueba con usuarios para validar la usabilidad del editor y el correcto funcionamiento de los mapas editados. Al finalizar el proyecto de fin de carrera se logró construir satisfactoriamente un editor de mapas para “1814: La rebelión del Cuzco”, capaz de ser utilizado, tanto por jugadores expertos como casuales, para crear fácilmente nuevos mapas y luego integrarlos al juego.<br>Tesis

Abstract:
Documents are a fundamental player in professional practices. Since the introduction of computer-based systems, an ever increasing number of organizations considered the full transition to digital documents in order to manage the exponential amount of information that they generate with their activities. However, this "imposed" transition has not been painless: usually the employees work together to reach a common goal, and during time they develop and constantly maintain some unwritten conventions with the aim to support them in performing their collaborative activities. Several field studies demonstrated that in these work settings documents are a fundamental part of these conventions, highlighting at the same time the problems that arose after the transition to a document-based system. Actually, the flexibility of paper-based documents is lost with the transitions to digital documents, since employees can not autonomously adapt both the informative content and the arrangement of their digital documents. Consequently, the limits of document-based systems hinder their acceptance among employees, with the risk of nullifying the advantages that the organization management expected with the transition to digital documents. In order to avoid this kind of problems, collaborative systems should be conceived to not force users to change their work habits, and in particular these systems should provide users with (i) a flexible support for their work practices, taking into account the existence of local and informal conventions and proactively promoting "collaboration awareness" among users, and (ii) a customizable environment that they can autonomously adapt to their actual and constantly evolving needs. These two requirements are at the basis of the work that is presented in this thesis, which focuses on document-based collaborative systems. In order to meet such requirements in the design of this kind of applications, this work puts its roots in both the Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) and End-User Development (EUD) research fields. In particular, the aim of the presented research work is to give a contribution to the design and implementation of technologies supportive of cooperative work that allow users to autonomously tailor their document-based systems to their needs with the flexibility of paper-based documents. More specifically, tailoring activities must not only involve the flexible definition of the informative content of documents, even if this possibility does not have to be considered trivial; rather, users must be autonomous in performing those tailoring activities that allow them to customize their systems to support the local conventions of the group in which they work. Putting in the hands of users the ability to customize systems they use every day strongly contributes in making the transition from paper-based documents to digital documents less painful, with positive effects on work practices of users. Moreover, leveraging the possibility to autonomously customize systems to support local conventions, users can also be supported in the improvement of their work habits, through a collaborative learning process.

Abstract:
The present thesis work intends to explore and research how far these new tools and modeling techniques can reach, regarding the generation and control of free forms (conceptual or mass modeling) in geometries generally complex on BIM environments, including its incorporation to the work flow within the definition process of the architectural project, as well as its integration in the BIM model definition. This allows the holistic visual comprehension of all architectural and building elements of the model, resulting in greater predictability, decrease of uncertainties, and reducing loopholes and information losses. It is also the aim of this study the control of such forms, its analysis, generative study, its geometry and those parameters from which generation and govern will be performed, in short, its optimization based on different criteria and given features, so as to obtain a greater efficiency by reducing costs and negative impacts on the environment. Forms are understood as a result of a complex synthesis and analysis process, and not just as a mere apriorism. Techniques are described to develop this kind of controls, analysis and management for the generating processes, which minimize the uncertainty factors and reduce possible deviations between the projection and its execution in all development phases of the project. Two alternative ways for modeling provided by current modeling software on BIM environments are analyzed: parametric modeling and the more recent algorithmic modeling. The latter needs its own specific VPL visual programming language to be used. Relationships and bidirectional dialogue established between the two is also studied, as well as regarding other software for the exchange of information, such as spreadsheets, data bases and others (structures calculation, installations, energetic audits, etc.), allowing for interoperability, a property benefitted and empowered by BIM work environments. The incorporation of these digital techniques allows not only the exploration of new modeling possibilities and complex forms generation, with the possibility of performing multiple options, simulations, checking, trials and the analysis of alternatives regarding their real behavior, that will help optimal decision making, but the optimization of the design process itself, focusing on traditional methods and projection tempos. This technification process of architecture opens up new ways of exploration and collaboration in forms modeling, also allowing, within VPL visual programming languages, the introduction and incorporation of conventional textual programming code (Design Script, Python, C#, etc.) to be able to create new customized design tools and automate repetitive tasks, with a considerable time saving regarding other types of modeling. Both modeling alternative ways are applied to a practical modeling case involving a very singular building such as Norman Foster's Swiss Re Tower in London, where the different forms of work, tempos, modeling strategies, objectives and dialogue bidirectional relationships and exchange of information between the two can be noticed, as well as the incorporation to the development and project gradual definition work flow.<br>El presente trabajo de tesis pretende explorar e investigar sobre lo que dan de sí estas nuevas herramientas y técnicas instrumentales de modelado, en la generación y el control de las formas libres (modelado conceptual o de masas) de geometrías generalmente complejas sobre entornos BIM, sin olvidar su incorporación al flujo de trabajo dentro del proceso de definición del proyecto arquitectónico y de su integración en la definición del modelo BIM. Lo que permite la comprensión visual holística de todos los elementos constructivos y arquitectónicos del modelo, dando como resultado mayor predictibilidad, disminución de incertidumbres, reduciendo pérdidas y lagunas de información. Es también objeto de estudio de esta tesis el control de dichas formas, su análisis, estudio generativo, su geometría, los parámetros sobre los que se va a generar y gobernar, en definitiva su optimización en base a diferentes criterios y prestaciones establecidos, para tratar de conseguir una mayor eficiencia reduciendo costos e impactos negativos en el medio ambiente. La forma se entiende como resultado de un proceso complejo de análisis y síntesis donde intervienen muchos factores y no como un mero apriorismo. Se describen técnicas para desarrollar este tipo de controles, análisis y gestión en los procesos generativos, que minimizan los factores de incertidumbre y reducen desviaciones posibles entre lo proyectado y lo ejecutado en todas las fases de desarrollo del proyecto. Se analizan dos vías alternativas de modelado que en la actualidad proporcionan los softwares de modelado sobre entornos BIM a saber: el modelado Paramétrico y el modelado Algorítmico de más reciente aparición. Este último necesita de un lenguaje específico propio de programación visual VPL (Visual Programming Language) para su utilización. También se estudian las relaciones y el diálogo bidireccional que puede establecerse entre ambos (software de modelado y software de programación visual) y con otros softwares para el intercambio de información, tales como Hojas de cálculo, Bases de datos y otros (cálculo de estructuras, instalaciones, auditorías energéticas etc.) dando pie a la interoperabilidad propiedad muy favorecida y potenciada por los entornos de trabajo BIM. La incorporación de estas técnicas digitales permite no solo la exploración de nuevas posibilidades de modelado y generación de formas complejas, con posibilidad de realización de una multiplicidad de opciones, simulaciones, comprobaciones, tanteos y análisis de alternativas de su comportamiento real que facilitarán en gran medida la toma de decisiones óptimas, sino la optimización del propio proceso de diseño haciendo cuestión de los métodos tradicionales y tempos de proyectación al uso. Este proceso de tecnificación de la arquitectura abre nuevas vías de exploración y colaboración estrecha en el modelado de formas, permitiendo también dentro de los lenguajes de programación visual VPL, la introducción e incorporación conjunta de código de programación textual convencional (Design Script, Python, C#, etc.) para poder crear nuevas herramientas de diseño personalizadas y automatizar tareas repetitivas, con un considerable ahorro de tiempo respecto de otros tipos de modelado. Se aplican ambas vías alternativas de modelado a un caso práctico de modelado de un edificio muy singular como la Torre Swiss Re de Norman Foster en Londres, donde se ponen de manifiesto las diferentes formas de trabajo, tempos, estrategias de modelado, objetivos perseguidos por cada tipo de modelado y las relaciones bidireccionales de diálogo e intercambio de información que pueden establecerse entre ambos. Así como su incorporación al flujo de trabajo de desarrollo y definición gradual del proyecto.

The purpose of this work was realization and implementation of two applications for the management of Radio Data System (RDS) messages. These applications will be subsequently used in the Czech Radio Ostrava to support two RDS services, namely the Traffic - Announcement Identification and Radiotext. Both applications are secured against unauthorized use by incompetent users through a password - protected access, access rights and encryption of passwords in initialization files. The text of this work is divided into three parts. The first describes the system RDS and services provided by it and implementation of RDS in the Czech Radio Ostrava. The second part deals with the realization of both applications and the last part describes the implementation itself. The work shows all applications windows. Work also includes all the flow charts. The list of all broken down by subroutines is given in the appendix.

Abstract:
This term project deals with creating visual tool for building image processing applications that is performed using the graphical interconnection of functional blocks. Graphical interconnection is realised by so-called node editor that is implemented in Qt framework. This framework is used across the project - for the user interface and management of dynamic libraries. OpenCV library is used as the basis for image processing, this tool can be extended to other methods of image processing using plugins included in the dynamic libraries. The tool interprets the proposed application, the proposal application is supported by the preview mode of the change in real time. The tool also contains a history of actions (Undo/Redo system).

Abstract:
This paper will explore the possibilities of using an automated self-made procedural tool to create real-time environments based on simple image masks. The purpose of this is to enable a concept artist or level designer to quickly get out results in a game engine and to be able to explore ideas. The goal of this thesis was to better understand how you can break down simple ideas and shapes into more complex details and assets. In the first part of this thesis, I go over the traditional workflow of creating a real-time environment. I then go on and break down my tool, what it does and how it works. I start off with a Photoshop file, make tools in Houdini and then utilize those in Unreal for the end result. I also argument about the time-saving possibilities with these tools. From the work, I draw the conclusion that these kinds of tools save a lot of time for repeating tasks and the creation of similar environments.

La siguiente tesis refleja las distintas evoluciones que se presentan a partir de las reflexiones que se fundan en el rol de la mujer en la sociedad y como este estudio deriva en el existencialismo del psicoanálisis, siendo la conclusión formal a la problemática, una obra minimalista de lenguaje plástico en un entorno natural y abierto, previo estudio del paisaje y las características de éste además de los distintos aportes que ofrece a las Artes Visuales y en específico a la Escultura. Desde la obra realizada el año 2006, Pudo-rr, se realiza un estudio sobre el Complejo de Edipo y su evolución, para concluir en el Complejo de Electra, previa investigación sobre teóricos como Freud y Lacan. Con esto se construye una obra que responde a un encargo de realización de un jardín de observación, que finaliza como una obra de gran formato, emplazada en el paisaje, siendo consecuente con aspectos derivados tanto de la Arquitectura como del Paisajismo y estos atribuidos a la Escultura que se aplica a la temática de obras artísticas In Situ. De este estudio resulta una obra minimalista emplazada y respetando los formatos naturales de las acciones realizadas en el lugar.

Abstract:
The purpose of the present study was to investigate WISC-III Verbal short forms for school-age children identified as visually impaired. The rationale for use of WISC-III Verbal short forms is to provide a time saving and technically sound measure for the screening and/or periodical re-evaluation of children with visual impairments who may require special education services. The total sample consisted of the WISC-III test scores of 78 children identified with the handicapping condition of either partial sightedness or legal blindness, who had been given the regularly administered Verbal subtests. The mean age level of the total sample was 11 years, 4 months. Three additional groups were obtained from the test records of the original data which included, children identified as either partially sighted or legally blind (n=62) who were given the regularly administered Verbal subtests and supplementary Digit Span subtest (referred to as the Digit Span group), and children identified as partially sighted (n=47), and legally blind (n=31), who were given only the regularly administered Verbal subtests. Ninety-seven percent of the data were obtained from existing test records, and the remaining data from the actual administration of the WISC-III Verbal subtests for the purpose of collecting data for the study. Children identified with the handicapping conditions of multiple disabilities or mental retardation were not included in the sample. For the total sample and additional groups, the mean Verbal IQ score and mean scaled score of the individual subtests fell in the average range. The WISC-III Verbal short form combinations were identified by utilizing the formulas of Tellegen and Briggs (1967) for determining the reliability and validity coefficients of short form combinations. High reliability and validity coefficients were obtained for all two-, three-, and four-subtest combinations of the total sample and additional groups. The study results suggest WISC-III Verbal short forms offer a time efficient and technically sound measure to be utilized in assessment of the verbal intellectual development of school-age children with visual impairments.

Abstract:
The contemporary Japanese manga industry began in 1959 when the first weekly manga magazines were published. Throughout the 1960s publishing companies attracted a large adult readership by incorporating radical political themes and realistic drawing styles in manga magazines. The readership continued to expand throughout the 1970s and 1980s and manga became a mass medium on a similar scale to television or pop-music. This thesis identifies two distinct trends in the cultural status of manga which were developing from the mid-1980s onwards. On the one hand, what had previously been seen as 'commercial' manga became respected as an 'art' form and highbrow communication medium. On the other, manga was vilified as pornography and as the extreme expression of an increasingly fragmented society. In the former trend, prestigious corporations sponsored a new category of 'information' manga, whilst in the latter, 'girls' and 'otaku' manga genres were censured by a quasi-governmental censorship movement. The amateur manga subculture in particular became the focus of a 'moral panic' where those involved were characterised as isolated and socially dysfunctional. This thesis, based on ten months' participant observation and intensive interviews in 'Morning' manga magazine editorial office in 1994, examines how this editorial was influenced by the changing status of manga in Japanese society in the formulation of its editorial policy and production methods. Editors felt that in the 1990s social changes presented the manga industry with serious production problems - in particular, a dearth of 'good' artists who could produce social themes, and a shrinking readership. Morning editorial attempted to overcome these problems by pioneering a new form of artistic, high-quality and respectable adult manga, aimed at older and more socially-elite readers. By creating a new proactive intellectual role for manga editors at the same time as sponsoring experimental graphic styles, Morning editorial produced a distinctive new form of conservative, state-supporting social and political adult manga. The re-definition of specific genres of manga as 'art' by Japanese institutions was paralleled by changes in commercial manga production which privileged the social and intellectual interests of editors over those of readers and artists. This study concludes that editors have become increasingly impo7tant in manga production between 1986 and 1995, and that there is a tight interrelationship between commercial cultural production and broader cultural and social discourses generally.

A multimodalidade é abordada nesta pesquisa em função de sua presença nos materiais didáticos nos quais vem sendo amplamente trabalhada, com a conjunção de vários modos semióticos, de forma a favorecer a compreensão da significação A relevância dessa combinação para o ensino, especialmente da língua inglesa, motivou investigar-se a multimodalidade na coleção New Interchange Intro, com enfoque na análise da imagem em movimento do CD-ROM que integra a referida coleção. Desta forma, esta tese objetiva analisar a metafunção composicional da Gramática do Design Visual, de Kress e Van Leeuwen (2006), nas imagens do videoclipe e nas atividades do CD-ROM, em um contexto de letramento multimodal. O arcabouço teórico adotado centra-se na semiótica social (HODGE e KRESS, 1988 e VAN LEEUWEN, 2005), na multimodalidade (KRESS, 2009, 2010; JEWITT, 2006, 2008, 2009; KRESS e VAN LEEUWEN, 2001, 1996[2006]) e na Gramática do Design Visual (KRESS e VAN LEEUWEN, 2001; 2006). Enfoca-se, na análise a metafunção composicional, enfatizando os princípios: valor da informação, saliência e enquadramento. Como categoria complementar, usou-se a Análise da Interação Multimodal, de Norris (2004; 2011); os Multiletramentos, de Cope e Kalantizis (2000, 2012), e de Unsworth (2001), e a imagem em movimento, de Van Leeuwen (2005), de Burn & Parker (2006) e de Iedema (2001). A pesquisa, de natureza qualitativa (BAUER, e GASKEL, 2002), consiste na investigação descritiva e analítica do corpus, propondo um modelo para a análise das imagens em movimento e das atividades. O corpus se constitui de seis unidades de sequências dramatizadas do videoclipe disponibilizadas no CD-ROM, dentre as quais são analisadas três sequências de imagens em movimento e, em média, duas atividades com imagens em movimento e imagens estáticas. Nas análises, verificou-se como os significados composicionais, valor da informação, saliência e enquadramento se manifestam na organização e na coerência das imagens dos videoclipes do CD-ROM e como estes contribuem para o letramento visual multimodal nas atividades propostas. Os resultados das análises indicam que o CD-ROM Interchange Intro Third Edition é um suporte multimodal, com pelo menos quatro semioses – imagem (estática e em movimento), fala, texto verbal e música –, que se integram para ensinar a língua inglesa, numa abordagem comunicativa, com destaque para o ensino da gramática e do vocabulário, demonstrando, deste modo, que os recursos visuais e verbais se associam para a construção de sentido das histórias apresentadas nos videoclipes. Verificou-se, entretanto, no material analisado, uma lacuna em relação ao letramento visual multimodal que, embora presente, é pouco explorado. Os resultados das análises apontam para a necessidade de uma exploração sistemática do letramento visual e da multimodalidade no CD-ROM analisado, para que possam contribuir de forma mais efetiva para o desenvolvimento da competência comunicativa multimodal do aprendiz.

Premier quotidien français, le Journal de Paris innove la périodicité de la presse à la fin de l’Ancien Régime. A sa parution quotidienne et à la recherche de la diversité de l’information le Journal ajoute sa forme épistolaire, censée le tranformer dans une “correspondance familière et journalière des citoyens d’une même ville”. C’est à la fois sa périodicité quotidienne qui assure son succès et lui attire de nombreux ennemis, dans le contexte d’une presse en pleine expansion et lourdement soumise à la censure. Si le domaine politique lui est interdit, le Journal de Paris se concentre, dès sa parution, sur le thème de l’utilité publique et sur les beaux-arts. Il accorde une place importante au discours sur les arts visuels (peinture, sculpture, gravure, architecture, urbanisme) et propose à ses abonnés un tableau de l’actualité artistique, sous la plume d’un correspondant pour les arts stable, dans la personne d’Antoine Renou, peintre et secrétaire adjoint de l’Académie de peinture et de sculpture. Ambientes de Desenvolvimento Baseados em Gramática (ADBG) utilizam uma rigorosa semântica e sintaxe para prover poderosas ferramentas que são capazes de especificar com precisão as propriedades de um sistema visual interativo. Por intermédio destas ferramentas, os ADBGs auxiliam a edição de gramáticas e a partir destas gramáticas geram o sistema visual interativo especificado. Estes ambientes utilizam componentes dos mais diferentes espaços tecnológicos e esta tese em particular está focalizada no estudo da utilização de componentes da eXtended Markup language (XML) em ADBGs. Componentes XML oferecem inúmeras soluções que visam a interoperabilidade e armazenamento de dados. Porém, apesar de amplamente difundidos a complexidade destes componentes causa uma série de problemas que vão desde o baixo desempenho de processamentos até a inviabilização da implementação de operações mais elaboradas. Com o objetivo de diminuir esta complexidade, a presente tese propõe um conjunto simplificado de componentes XML. O conjunto dos componentes XML propostos e seus relacionamentos formam um framework que pode ser utilizado para se construir ADBGs. Após a definição do framework, o mesmo foi utilizado para se implementar o protótipo de um ADBG. A implementação e uso deste protótipo demonstrou concretamente a viabilidade e aplicabilidade das propostas desta tese. Já para demonstrar a referida diferença de complexidade, os componentes XML do framework proposto foram comparados com os componentes XML dos demais ADBGs. A comparação revelou que os componentes XML das demais abordagens têm entidades adicionais que não estão presentes nos componentes propostos. Este conjunto adicional de entidades comprovou a maior complexidade dos componentes XML utilizados nos demais ADBGs. Adicionalmente, a referida comparação demonstrou que mesmo sendo mais simples os componentes propostos mantêm as mesmas funcionalidades que os componentes atualmente utilizados.<br>Development Environments Based on Grammar (DEBGs) often rely on rigorous syntax and semantics, which provide powerful tools to fully specify visual interactive systems and its properties. Such environments provide to visual interactive system developers a set of editors to aid the grammar specification. From these grammars specifications the DEBGs can generate the specified visual interactive systems. Such environments can use components from several technological spaces. However this thesis is focused on the application of eXtended Markup language (XML) components in DEBGs. XML components provide many solutions in terms of interoperability and data storing. Despite of its widely application, the complexity of XML components is the cause of problems such as low processing performance and inviability of many implementations. Aiming to decrease such complexity, we propose a set of simplified XML components. The set of proposed XML components and its relationships compose a framework that can be used to develop DEBGs. After the framework specification, the framework was used to implement a DEBG prototype. Such prototype shows the viability and applicability our proposals. We demonstrate the referred complexity difference comparing the XML components proposed in this thesis with the XML components applied in others DEBGs. Basically, the XML component of others DEBGs has all entities of correspondent component proposed in this thesis more a set of extra entities. This set of extra entities demonstrates the greater complexity of other approaches. Additionally, the referred comparison demonstrates that despite of its simplifications, the proposed components have the same functionalities than the current components.

The author writes about drawing as visual language for the arts, the techniques and the sciences; about the development of children´s drawings and about the specificity of drawing in the visual arts. The investigation employed two categories of analysis: promoting factors of transformations in children s drawings related to the learning stage; and the possible uses of images and information, connected to the teaching contents of drawing and visual arts. In each category I have identified internal dissonances. Therefore, drawing on authors such as Iavelberg (1995 e 2008) and Wilson and Wilson (1987 e 1997) I was able to argue that Derdyk understands sociocultural factors as a necessary influence upon children s drawings. However the author also sees them with negativity, generating a concept which I synthesized as what authors like Rizzi (2008) refer to as spontaneism on Brazilian Art-education. In the second category I indicate that Derdyk has developed consistent literature and visuals for the process of learning drawing and visual arts. I have linked them to contemporary art teaching proposals such as to the Triangular Proposal to Art teaching by Barbosa (2002 2008). Nonetheless Derdyk does not suggest that such proposal should be used while teaching children, but only during teacher training. At the same time, I understand that the way Derdyk suggests the participation of the whole child´s body in the action of drawing and her exposure about the artists actions and their works of art are extremely useful in teacher training. Based on references provided by Derdyk herself and on the conception of procedures of creation formulated by Duarte (2001) I have elaborated strategies of art teaching to children that assessed their anxieties and difficulties related to their productions and, besides that, were able to enhance the abilities and benefit both standard children and children with special needs. This complex simultaneity of learning conditions was the core motivation of this research: how to elaborate alternative teaching strategies that would address in an effective way the anxieties and doubts that standard children and children with special needs presented while drawing<br>A presente pesquisa trata da análise de dois livros, Formas de pensar o desenho (1989-1994) e Desenho da figura humana (1990), ambos da artista e educadora Edith Derdyk. Nestas publicações a autora versa sobre o desenho como linguagem para as artes, a técnica e as ciências; sobre o desenvolvimento do desenho infantil; e, sobre a especificidade dos usos do desenho nas artes visuais. Esta dissertação apresenta um panorama geral do livro e a leitura em braille no Brasil. Através, de um levantamento documental e bibliográfico, identifica e descreve as mudanças editorias que ocorreram ao longo da história, as políticas de acessibilidade e os paradigmas relativos à edição e produção de livros em braille. O foco da pesquisa recai na descrição e analise das escolhas editoriais da produção de livros braille, tanto: em grande escala, na Fundação Dorina Nowill, e em pequena escala (cópia única), na Biblioteca Louis Braille do Centro Cultural São Paulo. Não tem como objetivo discutir a qualidade e diferenças dos livros produzidos, mas descrever as etapas de ambas as rotinas editorias e as funções dos profissionais envolvidos.<br>This dissertation presents a general overview of the book and braille literature in Brazil. Through a biographical and documentary survey, it identifies and describes editorial changes that occurred throughout history, the politics surrounding accessibility and the paradigms related to the edition and production of braille books. The center of this investigation lays on the description and analysis of the editorial options in the production of Braille books, therefore: on a larger scale, in the Fundação Dorina Nowill para Cegos and on a lower scale (unique copy), in the Biblioteca Louis Braille of the Centro Cultural São Paulo. It is futile to argue the quality and the differences of the books produced, better yet, we must describe the phases of both editorial routines and the roles of the professionals involved.

Selecting appropriate normative data for the purpose of evaluating psychometric test scores forms an integral part of the interpretative psychological assessment process. This highlights the well-known problem of utilising measures developed in the United Kingdom (UK), or the United States (US) and accepting their norms unreservedly for the practice on local populations, which questions the tests’ validity and reliability. The current study, which aimed to collect normative indicators on the Bender Gestalt Test (Second Edition), forms part of the continuing effort to develop norms for psychological tests in South Africa, and to focus on the valid and reliable use of measures within the context of South Africa’s multicultural and multilingual population groups. The participants of the research were Black isiXhosa-speaking Grade 3 and Grade 7 learners aged 8 to 9 years (N = 38 ), and 12 to 13 years (N = 23), obtaining their school education in the disadvantaged educational setting of the former Department of Education and Training (ex-DET) schools. The tests were scored according to the Bender Gestalt Test (Second Edition) manual, using the Global Scoring System. Thereafter, the raw scores were converted to Standard Scores, T-scores and Percentile Ranks using the US normative tables, according to chronological age categories. When the two groups were compared to the US norms, the results equated favourably for the present study sample. There were no significant findings in relation to the classroom size or any difference in performance between the schools who participated. The only significant difference revealed between male and female participants was with the Grade 7 sample group, where the males scored significantly lower than females on the Recall phase. These results support the prospect of the continuous revision of norms, and it is suggesting that the cognitive processes measured by this test are likely to derive from robust neurological substrates that are relatively stable across cultural groups.

Instrumentos de avaliação da memória episódica não verbal são escassos. Além disto, consideramos a crescente necessidade de esforços para a adaptação transcultural de instrumentos de memória para nosso contexto. O subteste Visual Reproduction I e II (Reprodução Visual I e II) faz parte da Wechsler Memory Scale (WMS) e se trata de uma escala mundialmente utilizada e adaptada a diversas culturas, sendo considerada padrão ouro dentre as medidas de avaliação da memória. No presente estudo, utilizamos o subteste Reprodução Visual, da WMS na sua quarta edição (WMS-IV). O Reprodução Visual (RV) é subdividido em três domínios de investigação da memória visual (evocação imediata, evocação tardia e reconhecimento) e uma tarefa opcional para avaliação da percepção visual, habilidades construtivas e atenção aos detalhes (cópia). Além disto, o escore de cada um dos três domínios avaliados podem ser contrastados, de modo que se obtenham informações sobre a retenção, o quanto a memória é melhor ou pior do que as habilidades construtivas e, por último, o quão o sujeito evoca livremente ou precisa de pistas para evocar a informação aprendida. Esta versão da WMS-IV é uma revisão da WMS-III, cujos estudos resultaram em algumas alterações metodológicas e de conteúdo, no sentido de facilitar a análise dos resultados, diminuir os vieses de aplicação e correção. Desta forma, para atingir os propósitos desta pesquisa foram realizados dois estudos: o Estudo 1 teve como objetivo realizar a adaptação transcultural do subteste Visual Reproduction I and II - Wechsler Memory Scale IV (WMS-IV) e apresentar uma versão para uso preliminar no Brasil. O estudo 2 consistiu na avaliação das suas propriedades psicométricas. Participaram do estudo 1 três tradutores com fluência no inglês, que realizaram traduções independentes, dois tradutores profissionais e dois juízes especialistas (um neurologista e uma neuropsicóloga). Os juízes especialistas e um tradutor profissional investigaram a equivalência conceitual, semântica e operacional dos itens. Uma amostra de 24 sujeitos saudáveis responderam ao pré-teste, que consistiu na investigação da compreensão e dificuldade da versão adaptada do Reprodução Visual I e II. No estudo dois, participaram 62 adultos saudáveis e 29 adultos com Acidente vascular cerebral em hemisfério direito, no território da Artéria cerebral média (AVC-ACMHD). Os sujeitos tinham idade entre 20 e 59 anos e as respostas foram consideradas para análises de confiabilidade e validade baseadas em análises estatísticas da teoria clássica (ANOVA, ANCOVA, coeficiente alfa de Cronbach, e correlação de Pearson) e da teoria moderna de testagem (Teoria de Resposta ao Item (TRI) através do modelo de um parâmetro ou método de Rasch). O processo de análise das propriedades psicométricas utilizou a metodologia recomendada pelo American Educational Research Association [AERA], American Psychological Association [APA] e o National council on measure in education [NCME], 2008 indicada pela editora responsável pelos direitos autorais do WMS-IV. Na confiabilidade, foi investigada a consistência interna (coeficiente alfa de Cronbach) e a estabilidade temporal (correlação de Pearson). Na investigação da validade, foram investigados: os processos de resposta, a estrutura interna (correlação de Pearson, Teoria de resposta ao Item pelo método de Rash), a relação com outros instrumentos (Mini Exame do Estado Mental - MEEM e Figuras Complexas de Rey) e a relação com variáveis externas (AVC-ACMHD comparados a controles saudáveis). O índice de consistência interna do subteste foi de 0,92 e a estabilidade teste-reteste mostrou correlação significativa, exceto com a tarefa de evocação tardia. Esses resultados são similares aos do estudo original, sendo, portanto caracterizada a sua equivalência. Os resultados do estudo de validade mostraram que há equivalência em termos de conteúdo.A investigação da estrutura interna pelo coeficiente de correlação de Pearson evidenciou que todas as figuras obtiveram correlação significativa (p<0,001). Ainda mais: correlacionaram-se congruentemente durante toda a tarefa. Na investigação da estrutura interna pelo método de Rasch foi evidenciado que o teste é unidimensional, que a progressão de theta ao longo das categorias de resposta foram como o esperado pelo modelo. A TRI mostrou que a figura mais fácil é a figura 1 da tarefa de evocação imediata e a mais difícil é a figura 5 de evocação tardia. Os índices de correlação theta foram superiores a 0,5, mostrando correlação. No mapa de pessoas-itens as variáveis tenderam a avaliar o constructo em níveis inferiores ao de habilidade dos sujeitos, sugerindo a necessidade de itens avaliando níveis mais altos do constructo. Na análise de validade considerando outras medidas a tarefa de evocação imediata o escore total e evocação tardia apresentaram correlação com o total da tarefa de memória das figuras complexas de Rey. As tarefas de cópia correlacionaram-se com o total de cópia do teste das figuras complexas de Rey. A tarefa de evocação imediata o escore total e evocação tardia apresentaram correlação com o total do MEEM. A análise de covariância mostrou que a escolaridade exerce influência nos escores do RV. Assim, depois de controlada a escolaridade foi evidenciado que os controles tiveram melhor desempenho em todas as tarefas do RV, quando comparados aos pacientes com AVC-ACMHD. Na análise qualitativa, através do escalonamento e contraste dos escores, foi observado que o baixo desempenho dos pacientes com AVC se deve ao fato de que esses pacientes percebem muito mal o item, com pior controle motor, habilidade visuo-construtiva e capacidade de prestar atenção a detalhes. O resultado é uma menor aquisição da informações e as conseqüências são dificuldades na memória episódica não verbal . Os nossos resultados foram demonstrativos de que o RV da WMS- IV, além de culturalmente equivalente em termos de confiabilidade e validade, é adequado para a cultura dos sujeitos e pacientes avaliados em Ribeirão Preto, preciso e válido para o uso no Brasil. Saliente-se a necessidade de estudos normativos com esse subteste.<br>Tools for evaluation of non-verbal episodic memory are scarce. Furthermore, we consider the increasing need for efforts to cross-cultural adaptation of instruments of memory for our context. The subtest Visual Reproduction I and II is part of the Wechsler Memory Scale (WMS), and it is used worldwide scale and adapted to different cultures, and is considered the gold standard among assessment measures of memory. In the present study, we use the Visual Reproduction subtest of WMS in its fourth edition (WMS-IV). The Visual Reproduction (VR) is subdivided into three fields of research in visual memory (immediate recall, delayed recall and recognition) and an optional task to assess visual perception, constructive abilities and attention to detail (copy). Moreover, the score of each of the three domains can be contrasted evaluated in order to obtain information on retention, and the memory is better or worse than the constructive abilities, and finally, how the subject refers freely or need tracks to evoke the information learned. This version of the WMS-IV is a review of the WMS-III, whose studies have resulted in some changes in methodology and content, to facilitate the analysis of results, lower camest application and correction. Thus, to obtain the purposes of this research were carried out two studies: Study 1 was aimed at making cross-cultural adaptation of the subtest \"Visual Reproduction I and II - Wechsler Memory Scale - IV (WMS-IV)\" and present a version for use preliminary in Brazil and the second study consisted of an evaluation of its psychometric properties. The study included a three translators fluent in English, which made independent translations, translators two professional judges and two experts (a neurologist and a neuropsychologist) who performed the conceptual and item equivalence, semantic, and operational. 24 healthy subjects responded to the pretest, which consisted in the investigation of understanding and difficulty of the adapted version of the Visual Reproduction I and II. In the second study, participated in 62 healthy adults and 29 adults with stroke in the right hemisphere in the territory of the middle cerebral artery. All subjects were aged between 20 and 59 years and the responses were considered for analysis of reliability and validity based on statistical analysis of the classical theory (ANOVA, ANCOVA, Cronbach\'s alpha, and Pearsons correlation) and the modern theory testing (Item Theory Response IRT, the model of one parameter or Rasch method). The process of analyzing the psychometric properties following the methodology recommended by the American Educational Research Association [AERA], American Psychological Association [APA] and the National council on education measure in [NCME], 2008 - indicated by the publisher responsible for the copyright of the WMS-IV. In the reliability analysis, we investigated the internal consistency (Cronbach\'s alpha) and temporal stability (Pearsons correlation). To investigate the validity, were considered: the processes of response, the internal structure (Pearsons correlation and IRT), the relationship with other tools (Mini Mental State Exam- MMSE and Rey-Osterrieth Complex Figure Test (ROCF).) and the relationship with external variables (stroke in the right hemisphere in the territory of the middle cerebral artery, compared to healthy controls). The index of internal consistency overall subtest was 0.92 and test-retest stability showed significant correlation, except with the task of delayed recall. These results are similar to the original study, showing thus their equivalence. The results of the validity study showed that there is equivalence in terms of investigating the internal structure and content. Pearson\'s correlation coefficient showed that all the figures obtained significant correlation (p <0.001) and further correlated with each moment congruently the task. In investigating the internal structure by the Rasch method has been shown that the test is one-dimensional that the progression of theta over the response categories was as expected by the model, and show that the figure is the easier task of Figure 1 - immediate recall, and is harder to figure 5- for delayed recall. The theta correlation coefficients were greater than 0.5, showing good correlation. On the map of people-items showed that the variables tended to evaluate the construct at levels below the skill of the subjects, suggesting the need for items assessing higher levels of the construct. In the analysis of validity considering other measures, the total score of immediate recall and delayed recall correlated with the total of memory task of the Rey complex figure copy. The copy of the Visual Reproduction correlated with copy of Rey-Osterrieth Complex Figure Test (ROCF). The task of ROCF immediate recall of the total score and delayed recall correlated with total MMSE. Covariance analysis showed that education exercises influences on scores of the RV. So, after controlled the variable schooling, was evident that the controls performed better than patients with stroke on all Visual Reproduction subtest. The qualitative analysis via scaling contrast scores, shown that low performance of patients with stroke is due the fact they recognize the item very badly, the motor control, visuo-constructive ability and ability to pay attention to details is lowered. Its can occur, may be due apraxia, resulting in lower acquisition of the information, resulting in difficulties in non-verbal episodic memory. Our results showing that the Visual Reproduction subtest of the WMS-IV was considered culturally equivalent in terms of reliability and validity and is appropriate for culture of the subjects and patients evaluated in Ribeirão Preto, valid and reliable for use in Brazil. We emphasize the need of studies regarding to normative data for this subtest.

Envolvendo um amplo levantamento historiográfico e de fontes primárias até então não sistematizadas, a tese apresenta e contextualiza as inovações presentes na obra gráfica desses artistas, discute de que forma tal experiência influenciou suas poéticas (voltadas principalmente à pintura e à gravura), bem como seus reflexos na constituição de uma modernidade visual no Estado.<br>This research deals with visual and graphic arts in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul in the first half of the twentieth century. Books illustrated by plastic artists and published by Editora Globo are studied here. The works and paths of the three main artists associated with the Company’s old Drawing Section are analyzed; they are João Fahrion, Edgar Koetz, and Nelson Boeira Faedrich. A wide historiographic survey is carried out, including primary sources never systematized before. The innovations in the graphic work of those three artists are presented and contextualized. The way in which that innovative experience influenced those artists’ poetics (turned mainly on painting and illustration) is discussed, as well as its effects on building a visual modernity in Rio Grande do Sul.

Маркетологи та дизайнери дуже добре використовують цю стратегію пакування лімітованої серії з метою встановлення більш суттєвого зв’язку між продуктом та споживачем. Раніше дизайн упаковки limited edition зазвичай призначався для брендів високої цінової категорії, однак сьогодні ми спостерігаємо тенденцію до впровадження такої стратегії у більшості різних брендів товарів і не обов’язково елітних. Проаналізувавши зразки дизайну упаковки обмеженої серії, можна виділити певні аспекти цього напрямку: підтримка, оновлення та вдосконалення бренду, зміцнення його репутації.<br>When we talk about the design of limited edition packaging, we definitely touch on the issue of rebranding, because the creation of such packaging requires a mandatory review of the strategy and values of the brand. Marketers and designers make great use of this limited edition packaging strategy to establish a more meaningful relationship between product and consumer. Previously, limited edition packaging design was usually intended for high-priced brands, but today we see a trend towards such a strategy in most different brands of goods, and not necessarily elite ones. After analyzing the samples of a limited edition packaging design, we can identify certain aspects of this area: support, renewal and improvement of the brand, strengthening its reputation.

L'augmentation exponentielle du nombre d'images nécessite des moyens efficaces pour les classer en fonction de leur contenu visuel. Le sac de mot visuel (Bag-Of-visual-Words, BOW), en raison de sa simplicité et de sa robustesse, devient l'approche la plus populaire. Malheureusement, cette approche ne prend pas en compte de l'information spatiale, ce qui joue un rôle important dans les catégories de modélisation d'image. Récemment, Lazebnik ont introduit la représentation pyramidale spatiale (Spatial Pyramid Representation, SPR) qui a incorporé avec succès l'information spatiale dans le modèle BOW. Néanmoins, ce système de correspondance rigide empêche la SPR de gérer les variations et les transformations d'image. L'objectif principal de cette thèse est d'étudier un modèle de chaîne de correspondance plus souple qui prend l'avantage d'histogrammes de BOW locaux et se rapproche de la correspondance de la chaîne. Notre première contribution est basée sur une représentation en chaîne et une nouvelle distance d'édition (String Matching Distance, SMD) bien adapté pour les chaînes de l'histogramme qui peut calculer efficacement par programmation dynamique. Un noyau d'édition correspondant comprenant à la fois d'une pondération et d'un système pyramidal est également dérivée. La seconde contribution est une version étendue de SMD qui remplace les opérations d'insertion et de suppression par les opérations de fusion entre les symboles successifs, ce qui apporte de la souplesse labours et correspond aux images. Toutes les distances proposées sont évaluées sur plusieurs jeux de données tâche de classification et sont comparés avec plusieurs approches concurrentes<br>The exponential increasing of the number of images requires efficient ways to classify them based on their visual content. The most successful and popular approach is the Bag of visual Word (BoW) representation due to its simplicity and robustness. Unfortunately, this approach fails to capture the spatial image layout, which plays an important roles in modeling image categories. Recently, Lazebnik et al (2006) introduced the Spatial Pyramid Representation (SPR) which successfully incorporated spatial information into the BoW model. The idea of their approach is to split the image into a pyramidal grid and to represent each grid cell as a BoW. Assuming that images belonging to the same class have similar spatial distributions, it is possible to use a pairwise matching as similarity measurement. However, this rigid matching scheme prevents SPR to cope with image variations and transformations. The main objective of this dissertation is to study a more flexible string matching model. Keeping the idea of local BoW histograms, we introduce a new class of edit distance to compare strings of local histograms. Our first contribution is a string based image representation model and a new edit distance (called SMD for String Matching Distance) well suited for strings composed of symbols which are local BoWs. The new distance benefits from an efficient Dynamic Programming algorithm. A corresponding edit kernel including both a weighting and a pyramidal scheme is also derived. The performance is evaluated on classification tasks and compared to the standard method and several related methods. The new method outperforms other methods thanks to its ability to detect and ignore identical successive regions inside images. Our second contribution is to propose an extended version of SMD replacing insertion and deletion operations by merging operations between successive symbols. In this approach, the number of sub regions ie. the grid divisions may vary according to the visual content. We describe two algorithms to compute this merge-based distance. The first one is a greedy version which is efficient but can produce a non optimal edit script. The other one is an optimal version but it requires a 4th degree polynomial complexity. All the proposed distances are evaluated on several datasets and are shown to outperform comparable existing methods

Abstract:
James Robert Gillette (1886-1963) was an early advocate for original wind band music at a time when marches and band transcriptions of orchestral music contributed heavily to the wind band repertoire. Primarily known as an influential, in-demand organist and composer, Gillette became the director of the Carleton College band program in Northfield, Minnesota in 1924. Taking an innovative approach to building, organizing, and programming, Gillette transformed that group into the Carleton Symphony Band and led a wider push for the symphonic band movement. In promoting his ideals of the symphonic band, he composed and arranged music specifically for the Carleton Symphony Band. One of his original works, Vistas, was widely performed and well-received in the decade just prior to and after its publication in 1934. Despite the popularity of the piece at that time, it has since gone out of print and is a rarely performed piece from Gillette's repertoire. This dissertation focuses on Vistas, Gillette's second published tone poem. This study starts with the examination of the history of Vistas from its origins as a movement in Gillette's transcription of Paul Robert Fauchet's Symphony in B-flat to its subsequent transformation and publication as an original work for band. Next, the performance history and reception of Vistas in the United States is traced and described from the year of publication to the present day. Finally, discrepancies present in the 1934 publication of Vistas are addressed through the creation of a performance edition. This performance edition also provides modifications to make the piece more widely accessible to wind bands today and the full score is presented at the end of the study.

Y es el comunicador social el profesional que califica para esta labor. El objetivo de la sistematización de esta experiencia es demostrar que el papel del comunicador social como editor de textos escolares es importante en las editoriales, puesto que es el profesional específico que puede utilizar de manera apropiada el idioma y las diversas formas del lenguaje visual (verbal escrito, lenguaje icónico y de imágenes) para comunicar o transmitir, de manera atractiva y acertada, conocimientos de diversas áreas y a distintos grupos etarios. Pero aún es un mercado laboral que tiene que conquistar. Asimismo, tiene como objetivo identificar un proceso de edición de publicaciones, (expeditivo y funcional) orientado a la búsqueda de la calidad total del producto ya que todo libro es una puerta a la cultura y como tal, debe reflejar un buen uso del idioma. Por otro lado, destacar la necesidad de considerar en el Plan de Estudios de la carrera de Comunicación Social materias relacionadas a la edición de 30 libros y publicaciones de diversos géneros, no solo como un curso electivo, sino como parte necesaria de la formación académica. Do inventions that exist only on paper have less credibility than functional technologies? How has the meaning and significance of audiovisual media and technology changed over time? This dissertation examines historiography and methodology for media history, arguing for an interdisciplinary approach. It addresses methodological issues in media history—media in transition, media archaeology, and film history—through an examination of television’s speculative era. It tackles moving-image history through an historical investigation of Victorian and Machine age “television”. Because the concept and terminology of “television” changed dramatically during this period, I use the phrases “distant electric vision” and “seeing by electricity,” to define the concept of electric and electronic moving-image technology. By identifying manifestations of “television” before functional models existed, this dissertation examines the ways in which a modern concept of moving-image technology came into existence. Engineers and inventors, as well as audiences and journalists contributed to the construction of “television.” Newspaper announcements, editorial columns, letters to the editor, rumors and satires circulated. Victorian-era readers, writers and inventors pictured “seeing by electricity” to do for the eye what the telephone had done for the ear, bringing people closer together though separated by great distances. In contrast, early twentieth-century Machine-age engineers placed more emphasis on systems, communication, design, and picture quality. Developments in the 1920s with complex systems and electronics made “distant electric vision” a reality. This dissertation identifies several shifts that took place during television’s speculative era from the Victorian “annihilation of space” to Machine-Age systems engineering. Journalists, readers, and engineers all play a part in the rhetoric of innovation. From the Victorian era to the Machine age, the educational function of popular science and the role of audiences in constructing meaning and value for new technologies remain relatively consistent. I offer several case studies, including Thomas Edison’s inventions, illuminating engineering, and Bell Labs experiments with television. This dissertation argues that modern television design relies on the ability of the technology to make an unnatural experience seem as effortless as possible. Ultimately, it advocates for an expanded definition of media and technology, along with an historical emphasis on context.

Cette recherche traite de l'influence d'une entreprise photographique sur la représentation de sites en France dans le contexte touristique et plus généralement sur le marché de l'illustration au tournant du XXe siècle. De simples studios de photographies au Second Empire deviennent de véritables maisons d'édition de l'image ou proto-agences de photographies, qui produisent et diffusent leurs images dans de multiples contextes et sur des supports les plus divers. La photographie est ainsi conçue comme un produit, dans l'idée d'une rentabilité, et intègre une collection dont la gestion montre une actualisation permanente, en lien avec les activités changeantes de l'entreprise, en fonction des marchés. Le cas de l'entreprise Neurdein frères (1863-1917) et l'étude de son organisation, son fonctionnement et son évolution, donne la mesure d'une construction élaborée de ses "vues de France". Du travail de ses opérateurs à celui de ses représentants de commerce, l'entreprise façonne et sélectionne ses photographies et par là même conçoit une véritable politique en matière d'images à succès. Le phénomène est renforcé par la production de ces nouveaux formats illustrés que sont les cartes postales, dont le succès se fait sentir en France dans les années 1890. Menée sous l'angle d'une histoire culturelle et économique de la photographie, cette thèse adopte une triple approche : celle de l'entreprise, celle de l'objet carte postale et celle du marché de l'illustration. Les corpus, en particulier centrés sur le Mont Saint-Michel et sur la tour Eiffel, pour laquelle Neurdein frères était en charge de la concession des objets souvenirs entre 1889 et 1917, sont mis en lien et interrogés pour rendre compte de mécanismes culturels puissants. Créées pour circuler sur toutes sortes d'objets éditoriaux, du fascicule à l'assiette, de la carte postale au journal, les images commercialisées par l'entreprise Neurdein frères obéissent à certains critères de représentation et deviennent presque des normes : omniprésentes et standardisées, elles participent à la formation d'une identité touristique ou stéréotypée des sites<br>This research deals with the influence of a photographic company on the representation of sites in France in the context of tourism and, more generally, on the image market at the turn of the 20th century. Simple photographic studios during the Second Empire became true publishing houses or photographic proto-agencies, which produced and distributed their images in a variety of contexts and media. Photography is thus conceived as a product, with profitability in mind, and integrates a collection which is constantly updated, in connection with the changing activities of the company according to the markets. The case of the company Neurdein frères (1863–1917) and the study of its organization, its functioning, and its evolution, conveys the elaborate construction of its "views of France". From the work of its operators to that of its sales representatives, the company shapes and selects its photographs and hence conceives a true policy regarding the success of their images. The phenomenon is reinforced by the production of new illustrated formats, notably postcards, the success of which is setting in in France in the 1890s. This thesis, based on a cultural and economic history of photography, adopts a threefold approach: that of the company, that of the postcard as an object and that of the image market. The corpora, centered in particular on the Mont Saint-Michel and the Eiffel Tower, for which Neurdein were in charge of the concession of souvenir objects between 1889 and 1917, are put into relation and questioned in order to account for powerful cultural mechanisms. Created to circulate on all kinds of editorial objects, from fascicle to plate, from postcard to newspaper, the images marketed by the company Neurdein frères obey certain criteria of representation and almost become a norm: ubiquitous and standardized, they participate in the formation of a touristic or stereotypical identity of the sites

Cette thèse se propose d’étudier des pratiques poétiques dans et hors du livre à partir de parcours de poètes « passés » par les éditions Al Dante. Il s’agissait de questionner en particulier la notion de « performance », souvent réduite à une dimension scénique. Ou encore l’idée d’avant-garde, trop souvent limitée à une histoire politique close. L’idée d’avant-garde n’apparaît plus comme principe de structuration du groupe, mais comme spectralité agissante, conduisant à mêler des enjeux politiques — critique des institutions, critique de la langue dominante, contestations des places assignées par la culture — avec des enjeux esthétiques. Il est donc question de traduction poétique comme actualisation de la situation politique, et de transmédiation.L’approche stylistique a été progressivement supplantée par une approche médiologique pour problématiser des pratiques hétérogènes. La spécificité de la maison d’édition Al Dante nous permet de replacer le livre dans un écosystème poétique plus général, où le livre n’est plus la seule finalité, mais la médiation entre un processus de création et des manifestations publiques. Aussi peut-on lire ce moment contemporain non seulement comme l’émergence de thématiques dominantes, mais aussi comme une mise en crise de la centralité du livre et de son économie. La pratique des éditions Al Dante nous a donc amenés à défendre une « théorie du geste éditorial » qui ne se réduit pas à la mise en page d’un manuscrit, la production d’un livre et sa commercialisation, mais amène parfois à la création de livres qui ne possédaient pas d’espace éditorial. Repousser les frontières de l’édition, penser la spécificité du livre de « poésie-action » n’est pas sans paradoxes : déstructuration de la linéarité des discours, reconfiguration de l’espace de la page, adaptation spécifique des formats des livres et des polices de caractères. Ces pratiques ont pour enjeu la dimension performative du livre. En cela, on participe d’une manière renouvelée à une « performance typographique »<br>This doctoral thesis offers to study poetic practices in and out of the book from poets’ itineraries published by the Al Dante publishing house. The thesis is questioning the performance's notion, most often reduced to its scenic's dimension, but also the avant-garde's idea, too often limited to a political history which has ended. The avant-garde notion doesn't appear anymore as the element structuring the group but as an acting spectrality, leading to mix political issues - criticism of the institutions, criticism of the dominant language, challenges the places assigned by culture - with aesthetic issues. It is therefore a question of poetic translation as actualization of the political situation, and of transmediation. The stylistic approach has been gradually supplanted by a mediological approach to problematize heterogeneous practices. The Al Dante publishing house specificities allow us to see the book in a more general poetic ecosystem, where the book is no longer the only purpose, but the mediation between a process of creation and public events. So we can read this contemporary moment not only as the emergence of dominant themes, but also as a crisis of the book’s centrality and its economy. The Al Dante publishing house practices has led us to defend a theory of “editorial gesture” that cannot be reduced to the layout of manuscript or the production of a book and its marketing, but sometimes leads to the creation of books that didn’t find an editorial space. To push the boundaries of edition, to think the specificity poetry-action’s book is raising paradoxes: the disintegration of the linearity of the speeches, the reconfiguration of the page’s space, the specific adaptation of the books forms and fonts. These practices concern the book’s performative dimension. So it participates in a renewed way to a "typographic performance"

This thesis deals with a load testing of web applications. The text is introduced with a definition of the load testing, reasons for its execution and a description of its types. Recommended procedures are provided for preparation, execution and evaluation of the testing. Several commercial and open-source load testing tools are described. Cloud testing -- the contemporary phenomenon -- is also included. The entire process of load testing depicted in this text is demonstrated on a selected application. A following chapter briefly deals with a profiling of web applications. It, again, covers its definition and its purpose, accompanied with a practical example. The aim of this thesis is to introduce the reader to the world of load testing, which is primarily accomplished by describing an example, which provides an in-depth explanation for every step necessary in order to perform the web application testing successfully.

Since Sikuli is developed for testing desktop applications, user may face several limitations and difficulties when it comes to testing Android applications. In particular, third-party remote control applications are required for accessing the smartphone screen; further, changing the viewer size of the remote device could cause the tests to fail. In this thesis, by combining Sikuli’s image recognition UiAutomator device automating functions, and ADB screen shot capturing functions, we propose and create a new editor called Visual Script to overcome limitations mentioned above. Furthermore, Visual Script features UI XML locating functions which allow the user to locate specific user interface components through the XML description of the user interface when image pattern repeats or image locating instruction becomes over complicated. Finally, this editor features test script visualization to provide an intuitive view of the test script to the user.

Current implementation of Swing library - standard graphical user interface of Java - enables only limited means of modification of visual components. In this paper, I'm looking for a mechanism how to enrich these means using pluggable Look and Feel. In addition I analyze various programs which allow to completely change their look using very comfortable technique called skinning. I try to apply patterns used by skinned programs to a new Look and Feel theme. I am creating framework for editing of this theme. At the end I describe newly created NetBeans Module which enables to edit the new Look and Feel theme.

Managed Extensibility Framework allows development of component-based .NET applications. However relations between components can be quite complex. Therefore the MEF Editor was implemented in context of author's bachelor thesis, which can visualise the relations according to source code analysis and provide their editing. Although possibilities of the analysis are determined by available user's extensions, in some cases the editor cannot be used. This master thesis provides a solution in form of a new version of the MEF Editor which increases the number of cases it can be used in. As part of this thesis, we implemented the editor with extensions allowing analysis of application projects written in C# language and compiled assemblies. It helps to detect composition errors in these applications and allows visual editing of source code where component architecture of these applications is implemented. Considerou-se como população de estudo alunos de 9.º ano integrados numa turma de percurso de currículo alternativo, com idades compreendidas entre os 16 e os 18 anos considerados com dificuldades de aprendizagem traduzidas pelo seu insucesso escolar. O objetivo desta investigação procurou identificar os contributos da utilização do editor de imagens para a aquisição/desenvolvimento de competências ao nível da literacia visual. A metodologia de investigação utilizada foi a de investigação-ação. A recolha de dados foi realizada através de observação participante e os dados obtidos por notas de campo, inquéritos e a análise interpretativa dos trabalhos realizados. Contudo e apesar dos resultados apurados indicarem que a utilização de editores de imagens revelarem-se proficientes no desenvolvimento da perceção visual e na motivação, não foram conclusivos quanto ao desenvolvimento da literacia visual. Não obstante, os resultados deste projeto permitem reforçar a ideia da relevância do desenvolvimento futuro de práticas pedagógicas com a articulação das Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação nas disciplinas de Educação Artística.<br>Cette étude a été réalisé au 3 ème cycle de l'éducation de base, au cours de l´atelier d´arts et consiste dans l'étude du développement de la littératie visuelle chez les élèves, grâce à l'utilisation de l'éditeur d'images. A la base de cette étude a étè considerée une population de dix élèves âgés entre 16 et 18 ans, de la 3 ème année d´une classe d´études alternatives pour se considerer des élèves qui ont des difficultés d'apprentissage traduites par leur échec à l'école. L’ objectif de cette étude est, à savoir: (I) Identifier les contributions de l'utilisation de l'éditeur d'image pour l'acquisition / le développement des compétences en littératie visuelle. Cette recherche qualitative est menée par les moyens de recherche les plus utilisées qui sont : l’interview oral ou écrit et par l’observation. Les résultats indiquent que l'utilisation des éditeurs d'images sont un outil didactique important pour développer la perception visuelle et la motivation. En ce sens, les résultats de cette étude, encore qu’ exploratoires sur l' utilisation des TICE, signalent leur potentiel pour l’évolution de leur utilisation dans l'éducation artistique.<br>The current study was carried out having “Oficina de Artes” (Arts’ Workshop) as subject-matter, in a integrated lower and higher secondary school and approaches the development of visual literacy through the use of an image (graphics) editor. As sample for this case study, there were considered 9th grade students aged between 16 and 18 years old, enrolled in the alternative curriculum program due to their learning difficulties. This work aims to identify the contributions of using an image editor as means to the acquisition / development of skills in visual literacy. In the empirical study, the investigation-action methodology was used. Data collection was accomplished through participant observation, using field notes, application of survey questionnaires (consisting of open and closed questions) and document analysis. Although not conclusive regarding to the development of visual literacy, the results obtained indicate that the use of image editors seems to be proficient in the development of visual perception and motivation. The diploma thesis inquires into the use of A.I. - artificial intelligence in the field of graphic design. This thesis aims to describe the current state of A.I. use and algorithmization in graphic design and, based on the conducted study, to evaluate the potential of this type of tool and possible impacts on graphic design. The theoretical section will introduce basic principles and concepts of graphic design and its relationship with art and technology, based on professional literature and current research. Furthermore, it will describe the current possibilities and specializations of artificial intelligence. Findings from these two chapters will serve as a framework for critical evaluation of the currently available A.I. driven tools for graphic design. In the research section, a quantitative study utilizing a questionnaire will be conducted among the professional public and examine the opinions and experiences of Czech graphic designers with tools for design automatization. Its results will be used to test the formulated hypotheses utilizing appropriate statistical methods.

The diploma thesis called Visual Style of the National Geographic Magazine (1914, 1964, 2014) is focused on the visual part of this American monthly magazine, that is renowned for its long-standing photography tradition. In the theoretical part the historic development of the National Geographic monthly magazine is summarized, characteristic features of its photographs are defined and compared to the different photographic genres. With relation to the magazine, issues of visual gatekeeping are discussed. The theoretical part is accompanied by examples of published photo manipulations and a chapter about the image-text relation is provided. The analytical part aims at the development of photographic techniques and photographic content in the selected years 1914, 1964 and 2014. Using the method of content analysis this work deals with over 1000 photographs and allocates them in different coding categories. It is explored which category or characteristic features were typical for each period, for example in connection with gender, locations or the way of capturing the image. The results of content analysis are put into context by semiotic study which is based on the methods of philosopher Roland Barthes. A well-designed visual editor increases the readability and maintainability of programs. However, constructing a visual editor from scratch is time- consuming and laborious. This thesis presents a reusable library, the Visual Editor Library (VEL), which is designed for developing visual editors. Object-oriented techniques are employed to construct the VEL, which provides a framework that automatically reacts to user editing activities, rather than other libraries that support shape drawing only. Compared with current visual programming libraries, our VEL reduces the overhead of reuse. The class hierarchy of VEL is designed with care so that the developers may define their preferred object shapes through the mechanism of Run Time Type Information (RTTI), and be able to extend the hierarchy with fair cost.

In this thesis, the author deals with a topic focusing on use of plasma screens and plasma technologies in contemporary news channel CT24 broadcasting. The thesis is contained of theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part, the author summarizes existing findings of the television news field. The theoretical part includes a basic definition of television news and its subsequent changes, primarily because of digitalization process. In the connection with digitalization, the author also deals with new formats of television news, such as TV graphics. In the second half of theoretical part, the author focuses on characteristics of Czech Television and CT24 news channel. It contains of brief description of programs and studies, from which CT24 broadcasts, and which are closely related to use of plasma technologies. In the practical part, the author then focuses on the specific use of plasma technologies in the broadcast of CT24 channel. First, the author offers a basic division of what these elements are used for in broadcasting. Based on his own experience and interviews with Czech Television staff, he then describes the use of plasma technologies in individual programs and studios and offers their comparison.
