Abstract Tolerance is an important part of design and manufacturing. Applying right level of tolerance is vital for manufacturers to gain a competitive edge. This paper proposes a new method to analyze the geometric tolerance for two mating parts for compliant assembly. Under proposal, the two mating parts are represented in a purpose-built parametric space and the manufacturing deviation of the two parts is linked to movements of a compact set of control points. The contact state of the two parts is formulated as an optimization problem by minimizing the distance between the two parts under n

In higher TPI and faster rpm drives, rotational spindle balancing is very vital for its performance and user amenity. We have developed impact balancing which uses piezoelectric impact hammer without additional mass. To obtain a stable yield, the friction of mechanical parts disturbed, hence we tried lubrication treatment for the mechanical parts. Using very thin fluorocarbon lubricant, the friction between mechanical parts diminished and became more stable, and the yield increased. We subsequently reported our experimental results.

Abstract:
Although the diagnostics of cracks in sintered PM parts can be performed by resonant acoustic inspection, cracks detection in green parts still remains challenging. The problem persists due to the inapplicability of a mechanical impact to brittle green parts and a low mechanical Q-factor resulting in the absence of expressed natural resonances. Cross-correlation analysis applied to vibration spectra in healthy and damaged green PM gears obtained by laser Doppler vibrometry demonstrated minimal discrepancy between healthy parts and strong differences between healthy and cracked parts. Switching to more sustainable diets can have positive impacts on human health and are a vital step in reaching Scotland’s Net Zero commitments. Understanding the attitudes and actions of young people are crucial if future climate change mitigation actions are to be successful. Adolescence is a crucial time as it is a period when food choices become more autonomous, adequate nutrition is vital for healthy development, and lasting food behaviours are be built1. Abstract:
At some point in our lives, we are all affected by mental illness, whether through personal experience or that of a family member, friend, neighbour or colleague. Mental health conditions can have a significant impact on individuals, but they can also “trickle up” to have a detrimental effect on workplaces, communities, the economy and society at large – no one remains untouched. It is therefore vital that support for mental health be multi-faceted and every bit as prevalent as the conditions it seeks to address. Stigma remains a major barrier to care for those living with a mental illness, ma
