A three-year study was conducted at a commercial vineyard site in California’s Edna Valley AVA to evaluate the physiological and agronomical effects of the timing of cluster thinning on Pinot noir (clone 115) grapevines. Vines were thinned to one cluster per shoot at three selected time-points during the growing season (bloom, bloom + 4 weeks, bloom + 8 weeks), and fruit from each treatment was harvested and made into wine. Abstract:
The presented material shows that Ukraine has favorable climatic conditions for growing grapes, which are then processed into wine. The selection of new grape varieties for individual regions, the implementation of plant protection measures, and the development of technology, machinery, and equipment for soil cultivation in vineyards are carried out by the National Scientific Center "V.E. Tairov Institute of Viticulture and Winemaking". There are wines on the market whose names correspond to the grape varieties from which they are made.

This paper presents the results on the study of promising vine hybrids in the Nis wine-growing region. The following promising vine hybrids were obtained from three different crossing combinations: NI 11-92 (Prokupac x Gamay Noir), NI 8-92 (Smederevka x Traminer Savagnin rose), and NI 2-92 (Smederevka x Riesling Rhine). The hybrids were created in the “Centre for Viticulture and Winemaking” in Niš. The tested hybrids differed in their cropping potential, grape yield and quality, chemical composition and sensory evaluation of the wine.
