Zuiderzee towns in the Baltic. ‘Vitten’ and ‘Vögte’ – Space and urban representatives in late-medieval ScaniaThe Scania peninsula in the southwest of present-day Sweden was one of the most important trading centres of medieval Northern Europe due to the seasonal presence of immense swarms of herring which attracted large numbers of fishermen and traders. Streching back from the beach of Scania were the so-called vitten, which the traders, grouped by region or city, held as their own, legally autonomous trade settlements, from the Danish King. Initially, these were seasonal trading colonies that were occupied only for the duration of the fair, which began in August and ended in November. In the late Middle Ages the vitten developed into miniature towns, modest off-shoots from the traders‘ mother city. The presence on a small peninsula (c 50 km2) of so many fishermen and merchants who did business together and came from different cities could easily have led to tensions and conflict. What was the relationship between the spatial arrangement of the vitten at Scania and the urban representatives of the vitten, the so-called vögte or governors? This question is addressed by focusing on the vitten of the Zuiderzee towns. Their vitten, among which were numbered those of eastern Zuiderzee cities like Kampen and Zutphen as well as those of western cities like Amsterdam, Brielle and Zierikzee, were part of the Hanse. However, the vitten of these cities have been virtually neglected in historiography. The territorial or local-topographical development of these vitten was characterized by regional concentration: the Zuiderzee vitten were located close or adjacent to one another. The new vitten of Zierikzee and Amsterdam bordered on that of Kampen. Traders from cities and towns without their own vitte were housed in a vitte of a neighboring city: those of Deventer and Zwolle, for instance, in the vitte of Kampen, those of Enkhuizen and Wieringen in the Amsterdam vitte and those from Schouwen island in the vitte of Zierikzee. The vitten of the eastern Zuiderzee towns were founded at the beginning of the fourteenth century, that is on average half a century earlier than those of the western Zuiderzee towns. The count of Holland and Zealand initially appointed the Zierikzee vogt or governor for all his subjects. Later on, the cities in his counties then had their own governors, first appointed by the count, later by the city (with or without the count‘s approval). The development of the representation of Holland and Zeeland towns in Scania differs from what was characteristic of the eastern Zuiderzee towns. Neither the Count /Duke of Guelders nor the bishop of Utrecht (as overlord of the Oversticht) attempted to interfere with the individual towns‘ governors or the vitten. The trend towards territorialisation in Scania was unmistakable. Although foreign traders, by reason of their origins, were subject to the jurisdiction of their mother city (the personality principle), a fact reflected in the responsibility of the vogt for the citizens in question, they were also increasingly spatially limited in Scania. This was a consequence of the limited space available, of the pursuit of control over one’s own community, and of the goal of allowing different urban groups to live together peaceably, prevent conflicts and guarantee the conduct of international trade. In this way the vitten, in particular those of the Zuiderzee towns that were further away from their mother cities, can be understood as urban colonies overseas.

Abstract:
Peucedanum akaliniae is described as a new species from Southern Turkey. It is similar to P. graminifolium, P. longifolium, P. ruthenicum and P. guvenianum. Diagnostic morphological characters are represented and compared with closely related species. It differs from related taxa by having long petioles with long fibrous collar, pinnate leaves, opposite-verticillate inflorescence, unequal rays and pedicels, number of bracts and white flowers, oblong-ovat fruit shape, dorsal vittae regularly 1–2 per vallecula and ribs, 1–3 vittae in the lateral wings and costas.

Abstract:
Nano-TATB particles were prepared by an ultrasonic-assisted spray method. Molecular dynamics simulation was used to select the best binder—VitonA. Then, using VitonA as a binder, TATB/VitonA nanocomposites were prepared by a compressed air spray evaporation method and the formation mechanism of TATB/VitonA nanocomposites was proposed. Meanwhile, the crystal morphology, particle size, crystal structure, thermal decomposition properties, and impact sensitivity properties of the raw materials of TATB, the prepared nano-TATB particles, and the TATB/VitonA nanocomposites were characterized by a scanning electron microscope (SEM), laser particle size analyzer (LPSA), X-ray diffractometer (XRD), differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), and impact sensitivity instrument. The detonation performances of TATB/VitonA were calculated by the EXPLO5 program. The results indicated that the size of TATB/VitonA nanocomposites was 0.5–1 μm. The results also indicated that TATB/VitonA nanocomposites were composed of many nano-TATB particles (40–60 nm). The crystal structure of TATB/VitonA nanoparticles was not changed. The activation energy of TATB/VitonA nanocomposites was higher than nano-TATB particles by 42.62 kJ·mol−1, and the characteristic drop of the proportion of TATB/VitonA nanocomposites was higher than nano-TATB particles by 13.8 cm. The thermal stability of TATB/VitonA nanocomposites was higher, while their mechanical sensitivities were lower, which showed potential for sustainable use in the field of energetic materials.

Lokalitet s bazilikom u Docima je prvi puta istraživan godine 1956., dok su revizijska istraživanja organizirana godine 2015. u kampanji terenske nastave studenta arheologije Sveučilišta u Mostaru. Rezultati revizijskih arheoloških istraživanja omogućili su potpuno novi pogled na stanje ovoga sakralnog sklopa. Pronalazak ulomaka crkvenog namještaja opovrgnula su nagađanja o mogućnosti postojanja drvenoga namještaja. Potvrđeno je da je Prostorija D imala funkciju krstionice koja se, kao i kod velikoga broja crkava ovoga tipa, nalazila na sjevernoj strani. Pronađene su Grobnica 2 i Grobnica 3. Otkriveno je kako se zid između naosa i vestibula zakrivio radi prisutnosti Grobnice 2. U vestibulu je pronađena klupa uz južni zid. Zabilježeno je korištenje antičkih spolija kao građevnoga materijala u kasnoantičkim grobovima (isto kao na Šipkovoj glavici). Pokazalo se i kako je tlocrt publiciran 1959. godine relativno modificiran. Kao najvažniji rezultat smatra se pronalazak grobnice na svod (Grobnice 2) iznad koje se, u različitim fazama, gradi starokršćanski kompleks.

Abstract:
Introduction. In 1842 Russian Finance Ministry was leaded by S. Y. Vitte. On his initiative serious economic reforms were carried out: the implementation of monetary reform, the construction of Siberian railway line and the adoption of the new statutes of the State Bank. However, the fiscal and monetary policy of S. Y. Vitte had its supporters as well as its opponents. Among those who were against the measures taken by S. Y. Vitte a well known (in those days) economist and publicist S. F. Sharapov, who especially defended the rights of the peasantry and argued that the development of Russian economy was different from the way of Eastern Europe. Materias and Methods. Despite many publications on this topic there has not been yet full research on the reorganizations undertaken by S. Y. Vitte and the alternative models put forward by his opponents and which specific direction of the fiscal and monetary policy were criticized. The aim of the given article is the analysis of the major reforms made by S. Y. Vitte, the critique on the part of his adversaries and familiarizing with the alternative suggestions. One can best understand it on the economic activity of S. F. Sharapov, who was the main opponent of most of the reorganizations. Results and Discussion. Among the main directions of the policy carried out by Finance Ministry in 1892–1903 one can single out the following: the preparation and implementation of monetary reform, which became the cornerstone of Vitte economic policy and the construction of railroads. Monetary reform was conducted gradually during 1895–1897. At the moment of its preparation S. F. Sharapov severely criticized the fiscal policy carried out by S. Y. Vitte. Unlike the supporters of the metal money circulation, he considered that the basis of the monetary system of Russia must be a paper rouble, which was pegged neither to gold nor to silver. S. F. Sharapov also came out against the wide range of the construction of railroads. In spite of the popularity of his ideas in the Russian society S. F. Sharapov did not get the support of the representatives of the main socio-political tendencies. There turned out to be more supporters of monetary reform and economic reorganizations. Conclusion. As for the monetary reform – the most important event in the activity of S. Y. Vitte – there is still a difference of opinion who was right: the supporters of introducing gold standard in Russia or its opponents “the nominalists” remains an open question. In 1898 summing up the results of the economic reform S. Y. Vitte ascertained that “money supply in Russia has been put to order and has been performing as soundly as in those states, where this branch of economy has long been in perfect order”. Subsequent events confirmed that “the nominalists” might have been right. Nowadays world monetary systems do not foresee the exchange of monetary units for gold and currencies are not pegged at the exchange rate of gold. The era of gold standard has come to an end and at present exchange rates and the stability of a monetary unit of this or that country depend on the state of the economy of this country. As far as railroad construction is concerned it should justly be noted, that a great deal of railroads as well as the construction of factories and plants in the whole world has caused damage to the environment as was foretold by S. F. Sharapov. Yet, when the territory of Russia was covered by rail network it resulted in a transfer of economic and cultural centres – cities through which railroads were laid began to develop rapidly and the cities without railroad connection started falling into decay. Thus Russia changed greatly.

Abstract:
In this study, anatomical and palynological properties of Chaerophyllum astrantiae Boiss. & Bal. and C. aureum L. were determined for the first time. Cross sections of roots, stems, stem leaves and fruits of both species were examined. The leaves are amphistomatic and mesophyll is bifacial. The fruit has 2 vittae on commissural face and 4 vittae on lateral and dorsal faces in both species. The palynological studies revealed that, C. astrantiae and C. aureum have tricolporate pollen type and perforate exine ornamentation under light microscope. Ratio of polar axis to equatorial axis is 2.15 in C. astrantiae and 2.05 in C. aureum. Thus, pollen shape is perprolate for both of the species.

Abstract:
Fem psykoterapeuter, med blandad grundutbildning, på en barnspsykiatrisk klinik i Blekinge, har intervjuats. Syftet har varit att undersöka vilka erfarenheter och upplevelser psykoterapeuterna har av att möta barn, ungdomar och familjer, tillhörande Jehovas Vittnen, i barnpsykiatrin. Jehovas Vittnen är ett trossamfund som finns över hela världen. Det är en tro som dikterar tydliga och stränga levnadsvillkor för sina medlemmar och som inte deltar i övriga samhällets förekommande traditioner.   I intervjuerna har samtliga terapeuter upplevelser av att det är svårare att utmana och skapa förändring i dessa fall. Utmanandet av ett system där man lever reglerad utifrån en tro som Jehovas Vittnen, upplevs bekymmersamt. Terapeuterna saknar tillräcklig kunskap om samfundet och om barns levnadsvillkor där. Samtliga terapeuter uppger också att det inte är en självklar och naturlig sak att fråga patienter om deras trostillhörighet.   I intervjuerna framkommer en negativt färgad bild av samfundet och svårigheter kring att jobba terapeutiskt i en kultur som är främmande den terapeuterna själv lever och är skolade i. Det faktum att terapeuterna inte har någon egen trostillhörighet verkar vara försvårande, då frågor om tro inte finns som en naturlig del i terapeuternas repertoar. Rädsla för att kränka den lagstadgade religionsfriheten och den privata sfären, är något som leder till försiktighet vid dessa möten. I uppsatsens avslutande del sker ett resonemang kring och ges förslag på frågor som skulle kunna ingå som en del i terapeuters anamnesupptagning, vid möten med nya familjer

I föreliggande studie undersöks om Jehovas vittnen kan definieras som en sekt utifrån Karl-Erik Nylunds sektteori och i så fall hur. Undersökningen har utgått från tre avhoppande medlemmar och två av rörelsens egna publikationer för att se om båda påvisar att rörelsen kan definieras som en sekt. Det har funnits i att undersöka just Jehovas vittnens koppling till sektbegreppet eftersom just denna rörelse är en av många som ofta förmedlas som en sekt i samhället och diskuteras flitigt som en sekt både inom massmedia och icke-medlemmar emellan. Studien har utgått ifrån en kvalitativ ansats samt analysschema som har utgått ifrån Nylunds sektteori med de olika kriterium som han har ställt upp. Det finns vissa motsättningar i avhopparnas berättelser och publikationerna, men resultatet visar ändå på att Jehovas vittnen kan definieras som en sekt utifrån de kriterium som Nylund ställt upp. Rörelsen definieras som en sekt på grund av tydliga särskiljningar från den övervägande miljön.

Abstract:
The purpose of this thesis is to identify power structures and instruments of power within the Jehovah’s witnesses and investigate how they affect the baptized youths baptized within the organization. The material consists of qualitative in-depth interviews and is analyzed with Foucault's theories of power. The results show that the participants have a very strict relationship to the rules of the congregation and also that they take great care in observing these rules carefully. It becomes evident that young members are exposed to disciplinary measures from the organization. It is also quite clear that the youths internalize hegemonic ideals and that they therefore try to discipline themselves in order to achieve a self image as a good servant of God. The participants concede that they are constantly being surveyed by the congregation and they also express that God is constantly surveying them. Within the organization there is a reward/punishment system which’s purpose is to strengthen the will to follow the organizations rules. My investigation shows that there are power structures and instruments of power within Jehovah’s witnesses that strongly affect the world within which the interviewees live. The instruments of power identified in this thesis drill the participants’ mental and physical operating space. In the thesis I also differentiate power structures within the organization. Foucault’s diffuse concepts about “the power” are concretized using the organization of Jehovah’s witnesses. The ones who represent “the power” are the ones who gain an advantageous position within the organization, but “the power” also stems from the atmosphere, discourse, and hegemonic ideals that surround the organization.

Abstract. The aim of this study is to examine the role of the interpreter and see how the interpreter thinks of his or her role in interpreted meetings. What kind of difficulties and opportunities does interpreters experience in their professional role and what can they describe as factors to a successful interpreted meeting. Above that we were interested in what kind of support if any, interpreters get from their employers or outsourcers when they are a part of an interpreted meeting where difficult and psychological hard matters is interpreted. The method chosen to examine and answer those questions are a qualitative method with semi structured interviews. Our interview persons were six interpreters with various work experience and degree of education. The theories chosen for this study have been parts of symbolic interactionism, sociocultural theory and communication theories in form of the barrier-model and filter-noise model. The results show us that our informants meets all kinds of difficulties on a day to day basis, however was this something that our informants expected and said to be a part of their job-description. We found in our previous research that some interpreters said that it can be a difficult matter to talk in a first-person way when the interpreted person disguise tough situations such as sexual abuse ore murders for example. This could both verifies and problematize by our informants. Most of them said that they were met with respect from other professions, but one voice distinguished from the others and talked in terms that the interpreter was seen as an idiot and definitely not was respected. One thing that they all could agree about was the lack of information they got to prepare themselves prior to the interpreted meeting, if this was a problem were however not a common thought.

Att vara vittne eller målsägande, är en påfrestande process. Att utsättas för brott väcker olika känslor hos den drabbade t.ex. rädsla och ilska. När ett brott polisanmäls startar en lång rättsprocess för att utreda vad som hänt. För att hjälpa vittnen och målsäganden att hantera den jobbiga situationen finns vittnesstödet för att bidra med information och stöd. Syftet med denna studie är att ta reda på vilka som är de mest centrala aspekterna i vittnens, målsägandens och brottsofferjourens erfarenheter av vittnesstöd som är en del i rättsprocessen. Studien är gjort utifrån metoden grundad teori där jag använt mig av intervjuer för att samla in mitt material. I analysen har jag utgått från Christies tankefigur om det ideala brottsoffret. Jag har avgränsat mig till att endast studera vittnen, målsägande samt brottsofferjouren i Västerås kommun. Andra aktörer inom rättsprocessen har uteslutits. Den tidigare forskningen visar på att vittnesstöd är så pass bra att det blivit permanent i England och inrättats på alla tingsrätter och hovrätter i Sverige. De primära uppgifterna för vittnesstöden är att informera vittnen och målsägande hur rättegången går till, ge medmänskligt stöd samt hjälpa till praktiskt. Vittnesstödens arbete bidrar till ökat lugn och trygghet hos vittnen och målsäganden. Det i sin tur leder till förbättrad rättstrygghet men också till ökad rättssäkerhet Att vittnen och målsäganden uppmärksammas mer och mer kan härledas till de ideella organisationernas arbete. Mitt resultat stämmer överens med den tidigare forskningen samt med den rapport som Brottsoffermyndigheten presenterade 2008 där de gjorde en utvärdering av vittnesstödet med förslag för den fortsatta verksamheten.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka skillader mellan förhör via chatt och som förhör ansikte mot ansikte. Evenuella skillnader mellan kvinnor och män undersöktes också. I studien deltog 64 deltagare varav 32 män och 32 kvinnor. Deltagarna var 19 till 32 år (M= 22,89, SD= 2, 92). Deltagarna fick bevittna ett brott via en videosekvens och sedan genomgå ett förhör, antingen ansikte mot ansikte eller via chatt. Förhörsteknikerna gav likvärdiga resultat vad gällde desinformationseffekt och antal korrekta vittnesuppgifter. Kvinnor använde fler ord än män i båda förhörsteknikerna, i övrigt fanns inga könsskillnader. Förhör via chatt gav större andel rätt per ord än förhör ansikte mot ansikte. Slutsatsen är att chattförhör är likvärdigt med, och i vissa aspekter effektivare än, förhör ansikte mot ansikte.

I denna studie undersöktes hur realismen i vittnens numeriska konfidensbedömningar av sina minnesutsagor påverkades av om de först fick uttrycka graden av säkerhet med ord i en verbal konfidensbedömning och sedan i siffror i en numerisk konfidensbedömning, jämfört med om vittnen enbart fick göra en numerisk konfidensbedömningar. Deltagarna fick se en filmsekvens och därefter besvara frågor om filmen i en enkät. Dryga hälften av deltagarna fick göra numeriska konfidensbedömningar medan andra hälften fick besvara en likadan enkät fast med både verbala- och numeriska konfidensbedömningar. Vi fann inga signifikanta skillnader för de olika undersökta beroendemåtten korrekthet, konfidens, överkonfidens och kalibrering. Det här examensarbetet genomfördes som en kvalitativ studie, vars syfte var att undersöka hur förhörsledare använde olika typer av frågor vid förhör med vittnen, målsägande samt misstänkta gärningspersoner. Resultatet baserades på 44 stycken dialogförhör som analyserades med hjälp av en kvalitativ innehållsanalys där resultatet visade att språket används taktiskt för att uppnå olika mål i olika kontexter. Generellt formulerade sig förhörsledarna i störst utsträckning med specifika- eller slutna ja- och nej frågor. Varav den förstnämnda användes för att utröna detaljer kring brottet och den sistnämnda för att verifiera olika faktorer. En slutsats var att det fanns olika mål med förhörssituationen som ledde till att förhörsledarens sätt att ställa frågor anpassades efter dessa. Var målet att införskaffa information, användes frågor som benämns som specifika och berättande för att samla in så mycket och viktig information som möjligt. Eftersträvades det att fråga ut en individ, präglades istället språket av mer styrda frågor.

Samfundet Jehovas vittnen avsäger sig blodtransfusion på grund av sin religiösa tro. Sjukvården ställs inför etiska problem när det uppstår en situation då patienten behöver blodprodukter. För vårdaren uppstår etiska konflikter mellan viljan att rädda liv, medicinska och juridiska aspekter samt patientens autonomi. Syftet med vår uppsats är att belysa de etiska problem som vårdaren kan möta i sjukvårdspraxis. Metoden som använts är en kvalitativ litteraturstudie och bygger på fyra vetenskapliga artiklar och en avhandling. I resultatet framgick det att det är en konfliktfylld situation då patienten nekar blodtransfusion och vårdaren har en roll att rädda liv men då går emot patientens självbestämmanderätt. De olika företrädarna för professionerna har olika syn på hälsa. Sjuksköterskan försätts i en konflikt mellan att respektera patientens autonomi eller att utföra läkarordinationen. För vårdpersonalen uppstår ytterligare ett problem när patienten är medvetslös och inte kan ge sin aktuella ståndpunkt gällande behandling. I resultatdiskussionen belyser vi att det inte finns några konkreta lösningar på de etiska problemen och att sjukvårdarna är dåligt förberedda på att hantera situationer som dessa. Vårdpersonal bör vara medveten om vilken inverkan kultur och religion har på människors liv och hur man ser på hälsa och sjukdom. Utbildning inom etik menar vi är en förutsättning för att kunna hantera de etiska problem som uppstår när patienten tillhörande Jehovas vittne avsäger sig blodtransfusion. Bristande kunskap i sjukvårdspraxis finns och därför behövs det vidare forskning och utbildning inom området för att kunna hantera dessa etiska problem.

I rättegångar förhörs vittnen på grundval av att de antas ha avsevärda upplysningar i det aktuella brottmålet. Därmed kan vittnesutsagor ha en avgörande betydelse när det finns liten eller ingen teknisk bevisning. Det är vanligt förekommande att det kan gå flera veckor eller månader mellan brottet och att vittnet förhörs. Således finns det potentiella risker att vittnet kan försumma vissa minnesbilder av vad som vittnet i tidigare förhör redogjort för då minnet ej är statiskt över tid. Det föreligger idag begränsad forskning om hur en tidsfördröjd rättsprocess kan påverka vittnesutsagorna. Både nationellt och internationellt är den befintliga forskningen främst fokuserad på vittnesutsagornas inverkan vid manipulering av respondenterna i undersökningen. Syftet med föreliggande undersökning är att bidra med vidare förståelse för hur vittnesutsagor kan förändras över tid. I undersökningen studeras vittnesutsagor över en kortare tid, en eller två veckor från den ursprungliga intervjun, eftersom den mest dramatiska minnesförsämringen inträffar redan efter en vecka. Undersökningen baseras på 40 kvalitativa intervjuer med inslag av kognitiva intervjuer med 20 respondenter. Resultatet visar att ju längre tidsperioden mellan brottshändelsen och intervjun är, desto mindre likvärdiga är vittnesutsagorna i intervjuerna. Undersökningen diskuterar resultaten i förhållande till minnesprocessen och tidigare forskning. Undersökningen bidrar med att belysa hur vittnesutsagor kan förändras över tid och svårigheterna med vittnens minneskapacitet samt hur minnet kan påverkas av potentiella felkällor och minnesfel. Vidare lyfts praktiska rekommendationer för framtida forskning inom vittnesutsagor. Slutligen åskådliggör undersökningen även vikten av ytterligare nationell och internationell forskning inom ämnesområdet.
In trials, eyewitnesses are heard on the basis that they are assumed to have significant information in the criminal case in question. Thus, eyewitness testimonies can have a crucial role, when there is little or no technical evidence. It is common that it may take several weeks or months between the crime incident and the eyewitness to be interrogated. Thus, there are potential risks that the eyewitness can forget about certain memory images of what the eyewitness in previous interrogation described, since the memory is not static over time. There is currently limited research on how a time-delayed legal process can affect the testimonies. Both nationally and internationally, the existing research is mainly focused on the impact of eyewitness testimony when manipulating the respondents in the research. The purpose of the present study is to gain a wider understanding of how eyewitness testimonies can change over time. In the study, testimonies are studied over a shorter time, one or two weeks from the original interview, because the most dramatic memory impairment occurs already after a week. The survey is based on 40 qualitative interviews with elements of cognitive interviews with 20 respondents. The result shows that the longer the period between the crime incident and the interview, the less equivalent are the testimonies in the interviews. The study discusses the results in relation to the memory process and previous research. The study helps to illustrate how eyewitness testimonies can change over time and the difficulties with the eyewitnesses' memory capacity and how the memory can be affected by potential sources of error and memory failure. Furthermore, practical recommendations for future research in eyewitness testimonies are highlighted. Finally, the study also highlights the importance of further national and international research on the subject.

Abstract The decapsulation process in today’s failure analysis labs can become complicated with the smaller size of the package and the surface mount methods of attachment. Some failure modes recover when a part is removed from the application and remounted after decapsulation, and some parts are simply too fragile to handle for re-mounting after decapsulation. Decapsulating the failing device in-situ (on the board or DIP adapter) allows us to analyze the part in its original mounting condition, without exposing it to additional solder temperature stress, broken wires, or tweezer damage. This poses a challenge, as the fuming acids used for decapsulation most likely will spill onto the circuit board, dissolving the package leads, damaging the resin layers, and potentially corroding and shorting the circuit board traces.
