This master’s thesis deals with the wavelet transform and its use in processing and removing noise from images acquired by nuclear magnetic resonance. Současné metody jsou v práci rozšířeny v několika směrech a to tak, aby spočetly tuto transformaci v jediném průchodu, a to případně víceúrovňově, použitím kompaktního jádra. Tohle jádro dále může být vhodně přeorganizováno za účelem minimalizace užití některých prostředků. This thesis deals with modern methods of a lossy still image and video compression. Wavelet transformation and SPIHT algorithm also belong to these methods. In second half of this thesis, a videocodec is implemented based on acquired knowledge. This codec uses Daubechies wavelets to analyse an image. Signal compression is daily-used tool for memory capacities reduction and for fast data communication. Methods based on wavelet transform seem to be very effective nowadays. Signal decomposition with a suitable bank filters following with coefficients quantization represents one of the available technique. After packing quantized coefficients into one sequence, run length coding together with Huffman coding are implemented. This diploma thesis deals with location optimal wavelet for detecton charakterics points of QRS complex in ECG signals. The first part of this thesis deals with description of heart, genesis of electric signals on heart and problem of noise. The second part describes the wavelet transform and the designed program and the third part evaluate detection results. The created program is working with 10 ECG signals from the CSE database and is testing 12 different mother wavelets. The program was developed in Matlab environment and is based on the finding zero-points in the transformed signal.
