Abstract:
This article refers to a Cairo Genizah fragment related to Bavli, Tractate Eruvin 102b-104a, identified as Cambridge, UL T-S F2 (2) 23. FGP No. C 98948. In the fragment, there are two words, “mor” and “yabolet”, which were written as vocalized by the scribe or copyist. Their pronunciation differs from that customary today, i.e., “mar” and “yabelet”. The purpose of this paper is to explain how this pronunciation was generated, the evolvement and development of this pronunciation as it appears in the fragment, and to examine whether there are additional words in other sources that were pronounce

Abstract:
The article presents a multidisciplinary analysis of an old fragment of a hymnody manuscript recently recorded in one of the ecclesiastic libraries of East Tǝgray. The handwriting on the fragment demonstrates pre-14th century palaeographic features. A peculiarity of the text is represented by the so-called “odd vocalization”, with many words vocalized in a way different from the standard Gǝʿǝz. The content of the fragment is a sequence of antiphons, some having been identified. A non-destructive material analysis, aimed at identifying the chemical components of the inks, revealed that the blac

The sounds that emanate from the dancers as they begin to crumble toward the floor spews from their bodies in loud painful moans; they reach upwards only to fall back to the ground. A unified group gesture—the initial formulaic but also functional gesture of French baroque declamation—disintegrates into disjointed formations and chaotic noise. Sounds echo off the small performance space, amplifying and confusing the tumultuous din. I do not know how or when the moans become words, but the words resist my understanding because they are being uttered in at least six different languages. Breath.

Abstract:
The paper considers the analysis of approaches to the segmentation of the speech signal into vocalized and not vocalized fragments. The necessity of improving the accuracy of segmentation due to a more accurate description of the process of speech signal representation is shown. A rational method for calculating the fractal dimension to increase the accuracy of the speech signal segmentation process has been determined.

Formants are one of the main components of speaker identification systems and the accuracy of formant determination is the basis for the efficiency of speaker identification systems. Improving existing speech recognition systems will significantly simplify human-computer interaction when the use of classic interfaces is not possible, as well as make such work more comfortable and efficient. The necessity for research on this topic is due to unsatisfactory results of existing systems with low signal-to-noise ratio, the dependence of the result on humans, as well as low speed of such systems. У роботі обґрунтовано необхідність використання фрактального та вейвлет аналізу для ідентифікації мовної інформації. Для сегментації мовного сигналу розроблена методологія, що використовує фрактальні характеристики сигналу. Застосування методології дозволяє виділяти вокалізовані та невокалізовані фрагменти сигналу, незалежно від мовних даних особи. Запропоновано алгоритм виділенн
