Abstract:
Ray casting algorithm is a kind of widely used volume rendering algorithm in the field of medical 3D reconstruction. One of the greatest advantages of it is the high rendering quality, while the rendering speed is rather low. In order to accelerate the rendering speed, in this paper, it proposed an accelerated ray casting algorithm which is based on the proximate cloud algorithm, combined with empty voxel leaping and fast interpolation. Meanwhile, it also analyzed the complexity of computing to significantly enhance the speed of the algorithm on volume rendering.

This work presents a new visualization technique that exploits the advantages of direct volume rendering and surface rendering in a hybr

Volume visualization has been made available on the web using the Direct Volume Rendering (DVR) technique, powered by the WebGL 1 API. While the technique produces visually pleasing output, the performance of the prototypes that implement this leave much desired. 2017 saw the release of the next version of WebGL, WebGL 2.0 and the introduction of WebAsssembly. These APIs and formats are promising tools for formulating a DVR application that can do high performance rendering at interactive frame rates. This thesis investigates, implements and evaluates a prototype application that utilizes the

This thesis discusses rendering capabilities of web browsers of accelerated 3D scene rendering. It specifically deals with direct volumetric medical data visualization. It focuses on the usage of ray casting algorithm, its quality and its realistic rendering options. One of the goals was to create an application that demonstrates the ability to render three-dimensional volume data in a web browser using WebGL. The application is written in JavaSript and its 3D rendering core uses the Three.js library.

Both methods are analyzed showing the volume data using triangle mesh, and methods for direct volume rendering. Ray Casting is presented in detail. Possible way of its realization using graphics card is the subject of implementation part. The paper presents several methods that could be applied to ray casting and achieve different results of visualization of the same data. Abstract:
AbstractThis paper presents a parametric cost model for estimating the raw material cost of components realized employing the investment casting process. The model is built using sensitivity analysis and regression methods on data generated by an analytic cost model previously developed and validated by the same authors. This is the first attempt of developing a parametric cost model for investment casting based on activity-based costing. The proposed cost model accounts component volume, material density and material price. The error in estimating the raw material cost for components whose volume is within the common range of investment casting is around 11%.
