Abstract:
This study deals with the experimental investigation of temperature and heat generation during machining process and cooling methods. Elevated temperatures generated in machining operations significantly influence the process efficiency and the surface quality of the machine part. Heat transfer between the chip, the tool, and the environment during the metal machining process has an impact on temperatures, wear mechanisms and hence on tool-life and on the accuracy of the machined component. The electrochemical cutting technique, utilizing electrolyte flushing through micro-hole arrays in the radial direction of a tube electrode, offers the potential for cost-effective and high-surface-integrity machining of large-thickness, straight-surface structures of difficult-to-cut materials. However, fabricating the array of jet micro-holes on the tube electrode sidewall remains a significant challenge, limiting the broader application of this technology. To enhance the efficiency and quality of machining these jet micro-holes on the tube sidewall, a helical electrode electrochemical drill

Abstract:
The continuous demand focused on optimizing titanium machining techniques in the aerospace industry, makes improving machining processes in this area of great interest to the industry. The contamination produced by the coolants used to machine titanium is a major problem to be addressed, since it is a material that requires cooling due to its strength, physical qualities and low thermal conductivity. That is why the implementation of a RHVT cooling system can improve the current situation. The aim of this work is to compare the final quality of the drilling by applying the system of RHTV (Ranq

Abstract:
The present work shows the process for MoS2 nanosheet production by liquid N2-queched bulk, a novel method having highly efficient, green, and facile operation. The produced MoS2 nanoparticles are suspended in minimum quantity cooling lubrication (MQCL)-based fluid to form nanofluid used for the hard milling of AISI D2 steel. The study aims to improve the hard-milling performance assisted by the MQCL technique using MoS2 nanofluid. ANOVA analysis is used to evaluate the effects of three input machining variables, including nanoparticle concentration, cutting speed, and material hardness on cut

Abstract:
Environmental protection is the major concern of any form of manufacturing industry today. As focus has shifted towards sustainable cooling strategies, minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) has proven its usefulness. The current survey intends to make the MQL strategy more effective while improving its performance. A Ranque–Hilsch vortex tube (RHVT) was implemented into the MQL process in order to enhance the performance of the manufacturing process. The RHVT is a device that allows for separating the hot and cold air within the compressed air flows that come tangentially into the vortex chamber

Abstract:
This study investigated vortex-tube cooling for dry machining of hypereutectic silicon-aluminum alloys. Experiments and numerical analysis were employed to study vortex-tube cooling effects on tool wear and cutting temperatures. A390 alloy was machined by tungsten carbides with cutting forces and temperatures measured. Vortex-tube cooling was approximated as an impinging air jet to estimate heat convection coefficients that were then incorporated into the heat transfer analysis of cutting tool temperatures. The major findings include: (1) Vortex-tube cooling may reduce tool wear in A390 machin
