Michal Zezula: Selected issues in the High Medieval transformation of the Moravian- Silesian border region (evidence from archeological sources) This study consists of three chapters and focuses on the Moravian-Silesian border region and its transformation during the High Middle Ages (in the 13th century). For most of the Early Middle Ages, this region lay on the boundary between the early Bohemian and Polish states, and after being annexed to the Přemyslid territories at the end of the 12th century it underwent fundamental changes, which are symbolized by the early emergence of institutionalized towns within the Bohemian Lands. The first chapter focuses on the Golensizi region in the Early Middle Ages, particularly on the village of Holasovice, which has attracted the attention of archeologists and historical researchers for over two centuries. Based on an assessment of older and more recent archeological discoveries and surveys, the significance of the location during the second half of the 12th century and the first half of the 13th century has been determined. Although there is at present no relevant archeological information which would provide evidence of the role played by Holasovice in the structures of the Piast state, its status as a local- level administrative centre in the Přemyslid-controlled...

(in English): The issue is focused on the survey and dig on the mining settlement Kremsiger in Ore Mountain. We discovered well planed and perhaps measured urbanism of the site. Our excavation took luckily place on the house with traces of ore assaing activity. In the issue we discuss the possibility of ore smelting directly on the mining settlements. We found out, that this activity is not exceptional, although there is no evident reason for avoiding the smelting in central smelting places. Second, the excavation brought the biggest assemblage of high mediaeval ceramic. Its analysis pointed out, that the settlement lived through two different ceramic horizonts, and due to this fact was not extremely short-living place as could be expected by mining settlement generally. Despite some exclusive finds as hollow glas, or the urbanism, we neglect the possibility of township of the site. There is no evidence for growth of mining settlement in such vicinity as by Kremsiger and the mediaeval Town Přísečnice.

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the function of waste objects in the archeological record from the archeo-zoological point of view. The research part focuses on general information concerning hygiene and waste disposal in medieval and early modern cities. It also addresses the methods of waste objects research and the occurrence of animals in cities. The practical part summarizes the analysis results of the archeo-zoological assemblage from the town hall in České Budějovice which dates back to the High Middle Ages and the early modern period.

The thesis presents the mythological studies of the German Romantics. The research focuses on the four important mythologists - Johann Gottfried Herder, Friedrich Creuzer, Karl Otfried Müller and Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph von Schelling. The analysis of their work leads to their specific concept of the myth. The early enlightenment tendencies, which rejected the myths as stories about gods of the undeveloped men were replaced with the conception of the romantics. They disclosed the symbolic character of the myths and explained the origin and nationalization of the myth on the basis of the symbol theory. At the same time they award truth to the mythological process which the man necessarily goes through. The creation of God in the mind of man is clarified with the philosophy of mythology. This way the romantics contribute to the development of the mythology towards a critical historical science.

Vydali jsme se pátrat po tom, co to pro Dunse Scota znamená, vědět, že Bůh je. Naše zkoumání nám ukázalo, že pro Dunse Scota přirozené, vědecké poznání Boha, které jediné může aspirovat na titul vědění, nelze oddělit od poznání jsoucna jakožto jsoucna - ale nejen to: ani poznání jsoucna jakožto jsoucna nelze dosáhnout nezávisle na poznání Boha. Shrňme nyní nejdůležitější aspekty tohoto vztahu ontologicky pojatého metafyzického zkoumání a poznání Boha, jak se nám v průběhu práce vyjevily. Především se ukázalo, že vědecké poznání Boha není pro člověka dosažitelné v rámci jiné vědy, než je věda o jsoucnu jakožto jsoucnu: pouze v rámci této vědy je totiž možné získat pojmy, které lze na Boha vůbec aplikovat: totiž transcendentální pojem jsoucna, jeho atributy, a pojmy čistých dokonalostí, jejichž bytostná přináležitost do rámce metafyzického zkoumání se ukázala teprve v okamžiku, kdy plně vyšla najevo role, jakou v této vědě hraje poznání Boha. Dále, při zkoumání našich možností pokud jde o vědecké poznání povahy a atributů jsoucna jakožto jsoucna vyšlo najevo, že pro důkaz skutečně transcendentálního rozsahu pojmu jsoucna, tj. pro důkaz jeho indiference vůči konečnosti a nekonečnosti, se neobejdeme bez důkazu existence nekonečného jsoucna, tedy bez důkazu existence Boží - nedisponujeme totiž žádnou jinou...

This diploma thesis remarks on the beginning of the equality of rights and the complete social recognition of the puppetry in Czech theatres in the years 1973 - 1982. The thesis deals with the history of the East Bohemian theatre DRAK in Hradec Kralove from its foundation, it describes the arrival of the director Josef Krofta, Prague's performances of DRAK in 1977, the first tours abroad, it observes DRAK in the context of totality, it outlines Krofta's directorial principles and the perspective of the DRAK's Theatre poetics within a decade. Significant attention is dedicated to the reconstruction of the top chosen period plays from the DRAK Theatre, directed by Josef Krofta, because these plays reflect the best the emancipation of the Czech puppet theatre.

Acidic atmospheric deposition and acidification of soil and water on the Earth's surface, due to emissions of sulfur and nitrogen into the atmosphere, have led to drastic changes in the composition of surface waters and their biota in many regions of the world over the last century. The number of species and biomass of phytoplankton, zooplankton and benthos were reduced, or some components (zooplankton, zoobenthos, fish) became extinct. In the Jizera Mountains (Northern Bohemia, Czech Republic), the man-made acidification has always been combined with a natural acidity (dystrophy) of waters, caused by a high amount of organic acids. Despite a strong recovery of water chemistry from acidification, that has started in the 1990s, biological recovery is delayed and much more complex. This master thesis is a study of the succession of zooplankton (crustaceans) in mountain reservoirs Souš, Bedřichov and Josefův Důl after decades of strong acidification. Biological recovery from acidification has been in progress differently in the drinking water reservoir Souš, which has long been limed, in the Bedřichov reservoir with naturally high content of organic material, and in the drinking water reservoir Josefův Důl, which is the largest and deepest one and which was most affected by acidification. The first part contains an introduction to the history of the women's political participation in Czechoslovakia from the from the beginning of the Czechoslovak republic to the end of the 1960's and a chapter following on relation of communism and woman question in theory (communist ideology) and in the everyday practice. The centre of the thesis lies in its second part which deals with the situation and position of women in the public and political offices at the end of the 1960's. It is focusing principally on women in the high political offices in 1968: on the politicians working at the National Assembly, Central Commitee of the Communist Party of the Czechoslovakia and in the government. The main direction of the thesis is the attitudes of women to the august occupation of the Czechoslovakia 1968 by the troops of the Warsaw Treaty and their activity in those days. This thesis outlines the artistic work of the German extended Süssner family, which originated from Northwest Bohemia, and the artistic work of the German Heermann family, which originated from Saxony. The most significant figures within these families are Jeremias Süssner (1653-1690), the Brandenburg and Saxon court sculptor (originally from the West Bohemian city Ostrov, active in Dresden and Berlin), his brother Conrad Max Süssner (1655/60-after 1696), Johann Georg Heermann (1645/46-after 1701), the Saxon court sculptor, who was active in Dresden, Praha and Görlitz, and his nephew Paul Heermann (1672/73-1732), the Saxon court sculptor too. Their work reflects both the classicist Flemish school, as well as radical Roman baroque, which was close to the works of Giovanni Lorenzo Bernini or Alessandro Algardi. The work deals with the issue of marks on pottery vessels in the Early and High Middle Ages in the present-day Klatovy district. An introductory chapter summarizes findings on the issue of the pottery and marking of the vessels. Furthermore, the work discusses settlement in a particular area (archaeological findings, secular and religious architecture, written records). The work also includes an experimental section, which summarizes the findings on the desk preparation, marking of the vessel sub-base issue and the pottery burning itself. A possibility of identification of identical remarks is discussed on the basis of a simple test. The thesis also contains maps, tables and illustrations of particular archaeological findings.

The Role of the Grand Chambers of the Supreme Courts and of the Plenum of the Constitutional Court in Judicial Law-Making Abstract Grand Chambers (GCs) are considered to be the most authoritative judicial bodies within multi-panel supreme courts. They are said to secure the unity, continuity, and quality of these courts' decision making. This thesis explores these claims in relation to GCs of three Czech highest courts - the Supreme Court, the Supreme Administrative Court, and the Constitutional Court. What is the role of the GCs in the decision-making of these Courts and how do the GCs fulfil their role? The thesis addresses these questions from both doctrinal and empirical angles. Doctrinally, it analyses with respect to all three courts the criteria for selecting GC cases, the character of GC decisions, and the status of GC precedents. Empirically, it explores how many and what type of cases the case-selection mechanism generates and how the GC's decisions influence the decision- making of other Court formations. On the basis of this analysis, the main argument of the thesis is that courts' use of GCs influences the way the multi-panel courts develop the law. My thesis deals with the problem of analysis of age structure of the top three ice-hockey teams at the world championships from 1970 to 2007. At the beginning, I put together all the data about players who took part in these championships and finished on the top three places. I evaluated these data with the help of Microsoft Excel programme. The results were divided into three periods given by the changes in play systems of ice-hockey championships. The average age of players at different championships, who placed themselves to the medal positions in years 1970 to 2007, is clearly visible in the graphs and charts.

The data in question is set in historical and archaeological framework. The thesis contains evaluation of methods and of informative value of the given material. The aim of the thesis is to perform a content analysis of professional literature dealing with floorball, sports training and age of top performance of athletes. Furthermore, to find out and analyze the age structure of teams at the World Floorball Championship and Czech elite league. Team roasters of the three best foreign teams and the Czech national team at the World Championships and three best teams of Czech elite league were collected for this objective. A lower age of male and female players of the Czech team was found in comparison with the best placed foreign teams in the World Championship. In the male category, the average age of the three best foreign teams is 26.7 years, the Czech national team is 25.1 years and the three best teams of Czech elite league is 24.8 years. The increasing value of the average age of the teams at the World Championships was observed, but not in Czech elite league. In the female category, the average age of the three best foreign teams is 25.3 years, the Czech national team is 23.6 years and the three best teams of Czech elite league is 23.4 years. The increasing average age over the years has not been observed.

The diploma thesis deals with geographical aspect of an origin of ice hockey players in selected countries (Czechia, Finland, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland) The aim of the thesis is to find out how succesful is the training of professional players in these countries on municipal and club level and a consecutive identification of ice hockey hotbeds. The thesis is divided to the theoretical and the practical part. The theoretical part is focused on the geography of sport and the issue of ice hockey, its history, organization and spreading. The figures of the players, trained in the above mentioned countries, their wages in the NHL, the number of starts at the Olympics and points and the number of the highest league titles are the basis of the analytic part. The figures were used for correlation analysis and comparison. The results show that a territorial diversification of ice hockey players production appears in the most of the countries and the traditional hotbeds prevails, but new ones are developed.

Objective: Author of the diploma thesis Utilization of physical activity to the influence of the health of top managers deals with health issues stemming from the specific nature of the job of top managers. A key issue is the work related stress and its impact on the health of managers. The negative effects of stress and poor lifestyle are "lifestyle diseases" such as diabetes, obesity, hypertension, ischemic heart disease, disorders of the musculoskeletal system, burnout syndrom and chronic fatigue syndrome. Appropriately chosen physical activity based on the temperament can reduce risk, mitigate health problems and prevent the development of disease in all the aforementioned cases. The research survey conducted for 6 months on a group of five top managers attending in Fitness Slavia showed that exercise programs individually prepared on the basis of temperament have a positive impact both on mental and physical health of top managers. Title of the thesis: Current concepts of double poling by classic technique in cross-country skiing Object of the thesis: The spatial-temporal analysis of node points and kinetic phases of the kick double poling and double poling of selected competitors at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec 2009. Method: A case study in which we used the kinematographic method for the analysis of the kick double poling and double poling of selected competitors. We analyzed the video of the 15-km classic in the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec 2009. For the analysis we used the software APAS. Results: We performed spatial-temporal description of node points and kinetic phases of the kick double poling and double poling of selected competitors. We characterized current concepts of kick double poling technique, because selected competitors were relatively homogeneous set. By double poling we found out flexion-extension pattern in elbow, hip joints of slipping lower limb and partly in knee and ankle joints of slipping lower limb which results in generation of great propulsive force. The present study deals with the selected chapters of a medieval settlement in the territory lying along the middle stream of the river Bystřice in northeastern Bohemia. This area is consistent with the surroundings towns Hořice and Miletín. Introductory section evaluates the material and written sources. The main part of the study devoted to the development settlement is divided into several basic sections. Because of declining value of archaeological findings, came mostly from fieldwalking is put emphasis mainly on the study of Early and early Middle Ages. Before 13th century early medieval settlement did not beyond the boundaries old settled area. On several of early medieval settlements is documented continuity of settlement dating back to the 13th century, when most of settlements were abandoned. In the 13th century also were created an absolutely new settlement, which is located near the old sites, or in areas where early medieval sites were not recorded. Most of these sites disappeared at the end of the 13th century or the early 14th century. In the vicinity of these sites we often found present villages. The work is focused mainly on questions, which role in selected members of the group is played by factors, such as family background, personality development, mental status, great experiences, personality of a group leader, interpersonal relationships in the group, environment in which the group forms, etc. The theoretical part shall seek to describe the issues of children and youth leisure time with an emphasis on sociological and psychological point of view. The practical part consists of monographic research and qualitative research. The aim of the monographic research is to describe by means of historical methods the development of group in time, based on social changes which during the existence of this group in the society happened. This thesis examines the intricacies of women's vowed life in the High Middle Ages with regard to key aspects of contemporary religiosity. Vowed women are studied in their connection and interaction with the male world of authorities and spiritual guides. The diachronic approach is employed with a focus on the ideals and spirituality of three different types of vowed women's groups; traditional monastic groups living according to the Benedictine rule, namely Benedictines and Cistercians, Mendicant groups, which include Poor Clares, Dominicans and tertiaries of both orders, and finally groups of non-conformist vowed women, including beguines, anchoresses and recluses. This thesis serves as a probe into the proclaimed ideals of these groups in the view of male authorities, and points out the tendencies in the spirituality of specific vowed women. The principal method is the analysis of several types of sources with the categories of analysis being three key aspects of the religious life of the society of the High Middle Ages, namely the relationship to asceticism, the relationship to Christ and the Eucharist, and the Marian devotion. This work considers finds of medieval glass in the historic centre of Prague on the basis of archaeological material from the National Herritage Institute excavations. Besides the typology of glass vessels, special attention is paid to the concerning the social level of the society of that time, resp. the study of glass imports that can inform us of the commercial or cultural contacts of the given locality. Especially the enameled glass play an important role in studies of the extraordinary social and economic status. The archaeological evidences of medieval glass has been found in Prague since the end of the 19 th century. The end of the sixtieths brought large finds of medieval glass fragments which most has not been studied as yet. Some of them are included into this work, which is aimed at the region of Old and New Town, whereas the finds of Prague Castle has been left aside. In the study of the popularity of glass tableware, it is possible to observe the process well documented in the majority of Czech towns. In Prague glass ware fragments appeared quite early, already in the 12th century and also in the following century glass presented luxury ware intended for the highest social level. This dissertation focuses on the constructing and architectonic development of Premonstratensian monastery and the church of St. Giles of Milevsko in the Middle Ages. The work is based on the older art historical literature and it evaluates the archaeological researches' findings in the locality as well as construction and historic researches of particular buildings, which were carried on with connection to the restitution of the site to the Premonstratensian order in the 1990s. The work demonstrates the Milevsko grounds picture and its construction as well as architectonic development from the establishment of the pre- monastery era in the eighth century until the Hussite's wars. The dissertation provides study of court with a church with apsis, stone Romanesque house and the basilica. It characterises the George of Milevsko personality as well as the significance of the abbot Jarloch. It analyses in detail the Roman architecture of St. Giles Church and attempts to interpret the procedure of its construction. Furthermore, it deals with the shape of the monastery's basilica and the description of Romanesque monastic buildings while comparing the premises to other monastic sites in this country. People have been engaged in the question of life and deaths for ages. It is one of the oldest, the hardests and the most fundamental questions which are asked. We can think of the death in two levels: a general and a personal. The comprehension of deaths was developing in history. Thesis traces, what affected and how it is possible, that the today`s subject of personal death states taboo, even if masmedia floods us with death of others. For understanding, the thesis goes throught history. From the methodological aspects it follows the time line, divides the history into ancient world, the Middle Ages and modern period, as well as on horizontal line following individually nations and their intellectual directions.
