Abstract:

This work deals with the description of the communication using the VSAT satellite network. A used network topology, frequency bands, satellite orbits and also an access technology are defined. The next part is focused on the VSAT terminal, where the block diagram is shown. A model of the indoor unit IDU is designed in the system background of Ansoft Designer. Individual parts of the system model are analyzed in terms of input variables. The results of the simulation are shown. The curves of BER before Viterbi decoding and after Viterbi decoding are shown too.

<p>Very small aperture terminal (VSAT) networks offer a solution to the increasing demand for low-density voice and data communications. Spread Spectrum and single-channel-per-carrier (SCPC) transmission techniques work well for multiple access purposes while allowing the earth station antennas to remain small. Abstract:

The purpose of this thesis is to model a satellite communication system with VSATs, using Spread Spectrum CDMA methods and Forward Error Correction (FEC). Walsh codes and PN sequences are used to generate a CDMA system and FEC is used to further improve the performance. Convolutional and block coding methods are examined and the results are obtained for each different case, including concatenated use of the codes. The performance of the system is given in terms of Bit Error Rate (BER). As observed from the results, the performance is mainly affected by the number of users and the code rates.

This thesis proposes a hybrid technology of vacuum swing adsorption and cryogenic liquefaction to capture CO2 at high recovery with an energy penalty comparable with the traditional amine absorption process. After the capture, this thesis also proposes a pipeline transportation system which utilizes the ground/ambient temperature to retain its liquid phase.
