Abstract:
Wadi Khulab considers one of the most important wadis in Jazan, south-western Saudi Arabia. Thus the current work provides an analysis of the floristic composition, life form and chorology of plant life of the wadi, a total of 119 species related to 93 genera represented 44 vascular plants families were documented. Six families (Aizoaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Papilionaceae, Poaceae, Amaranthaceae and Asclepediaceae) provided nearly half of the total number of species reported. Therophytes and chamaephytes are the most frequent life forms which may indicating a typical desert spectrum vegetation. Th

ABSTRACT Al Khlata Formation is an oil-bearing reservoir in Oman. Its origin during the Late Palaeozoic Gondwana glaciation in the southern part of the Arabian Peninsula is demonstrated by the glaciogenic deposits of the formation in Oman. Outcrops of the Al Khlata Formation occur in a belt parallel to the Huqf fold axis, the best outcrops being found in the two wadis Al Khlata North and South. In the southern wadi, glacial deposits rest directly on dolomites of the Precambrian Khufai Formation showing northeast-southwest trending glacial striations. Earlier workers proposed that the direction

Summary Diagenetic heterogeneities are difficult to predict in the subsurface. Nevertheless, such heterogeneities can be crucial in hydrocarbon exploration. Diagenetic processes can significantly alter petrophysical properties of reservoir rocks, especially in carbonate rocks because of the reactive nature of the carbonate minerals. Dolomitization [i.e., the transformation of calcite (limestone: Lmst) into dolomite] is a common diagenetic process in carbonate rocks. Resulting dolomite bodies have a different pore network than the original Lmst and respond also differently to tectonic stress ca

Abstract:
An important source of freshwater in arid lands is found in groundwater aquifers that are recharged after storm events. However, most of the precipitation is lost due to evaporation and only small fractions actually recharge the aquifers. The construction of dams along wadi channels enables the retention of stormwater, however the reservoirs are still subject to huge evaporative losses and contamination. In this study, the hydraulic properties of a dunefield in western Saudi Arabia are evaluated in order to determine the feasibility of designing a stormwater storage aquifer storage and recover
