Abstract:

Pyrroloquinone ring systems are important structural units present in many biologically active molecules including a number of marine alkaloids. For example, they are found in a series of marine metabolites, such as tsitsikammamines, zyzzyanones, wakayin, and terreusinone. Several of these alkaloids have exhibited antimicrobial, antimalarial, antifungal, antitumor, and photoprotecting activities. Synthesis of pyrroloquinone unit is the key step in the synthesis of many of these important organic molecules. Here, we present a ceric (IV) ammonium nitrate (CAN) mediated oxidative free radical cyclization reaction of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds with aminoquinones as a facile methodology for making various substituted pyrroloquinones. 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds used in this study are ethyl acetoacetate, acetylacetone, benzoyl acetone, andN,N-dimethyl acetoacetamide. The aminoquinones used in this study are 2-(benzylamino)naphthalene-1,4-dione and 6-(benzylamino)-1-tosyl-1H-indole-4,7-dione. The yields of the synthesized pyrroloquinones ranged from 23–91%.

Abstract:

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan transparansi dan akuntabilitas dalam pengelolaan Alokasi Dana Desa (ADD) di Desa Wakan Lombok Timur yang terdiri dari tiga tahap yakni, tahap perencanaan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap pertanggungjawaban. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Analisis data dilakukan dengan model Miles dan Humberman. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa untuk tahap perencanaan dan pelaksanaan dalam pengelolaan ADD di Desa Wakan Kecamatan Jerowaru Kabupaten Lombok Timur sudah sesuai sebagaimana dengan prosedur yang berlaku. Pengelolaanya sudah dilaksanakan sesuai dengan asas transparansi dan akuntabilitas. Ada sebagian dari masyarakat yang masih mengeluh kepada pemerintah Desa bahwa pihak Pemerintah Desa belum sepenuhnya menginformasikan kepada masyarakat Desa Wakan dalam hal pengelolaan ADD. Kemudian dalam tahap pertanggungjawaban dalam Pengelolaan ADD di Desa Wakan Lombok Timur secara fisik dan administrasi pemerintah desa Wakan sudah cukup baik karena sudah sesuai dengan peraturan dan perundang-undangan.

Abstract:

The present study investigated the differences in fruit physical and chemical quality characteristics of two popular local pomegranate cultivars, namely Helow and Malasi, as influenced by the altitudinal microclimates. Three sites of varying altitudes were selected for this study at Al-Hajar Mountains in northern Oman that included, high (2019 m, Saiq), mid (1876 m, Sograh) and low altitudes (1540 m, Wakan). The results showed that at lower altitudes of Wakan, the Malasi cultivar had better color attributes than Helow cultivar. Malasi also had more lightness (L), yellowness (b) and color intensity (chroma) but less greenness (a), while in mid-altitude, Helow had better color compared with Malasi cultivar. Furthermore, Helow colors was developed as evidenced in terms of brightness, skin and arils redness at higher altitude compared to the two lower altitude sites. Physical fruit qualities were also investigated and the results indicated that in most measured parameters, the Malasi fruit quality was better in both locations (Sograh and Wakan) than Helow cultivar, while Helow cultivar had superior fruit quality at higher elevation in Saiq. Additionally, Malasi had higher juice volume (JV), total soluble solid (TSS) and titratable acidity (TA) than Helow in Wakan. Helow fruits in Saiq showed better performance and higher results for juice volume (JV), total soluble solid (TSS) and maturity index (MI) as followed by those in Sograh and Wakan. Our study showed that the fruit physical and chemical quality attributes of local pomegranate cultivars are strongly influenced by growing location and altitude.

Abstract:

This dedication activity was based on requests from the management of the Ar-Rusydiny Segaet Islamic boarding school and the people of Wakan village, Jerowaru sub-district, East Lombok regency to get guidance on poultry raising and processing of poultry manure waste, which is one of the activities in the boarding school. The activity involved the community and students of Islamic boarding schools in the village of Wakan. Activities include counseling on poultry farming and poultry farm waste processing in the form of hongkong caterpillar cultivation using poultry droppings. The method used is a participatory method, counseling, and waste treatment practices with various alternative treatment processes. The target to be achieved from this activity is the community and boarding school students motivated to conduct poultry farming and poultry farm waste processing business, and make it one of the leading programs in boarding schools. Based on the results of the community service activities, various problems were found, namely the ignorance of the community in processing poultry, cow, and goat manure waste which is often complained of by the community. The Wakan village community and the management of the Ar-Rusydiny Segaet boarding school do not know how to handle livestock waste. Wakan villagers enthusiastically participated in counseling and practices of sewage treatment, as evidenced by the number of participants who took part, 37 people and during the active discussion session, as well as the emergence of community commitment to process waste into useful products.

Abstract:

Abstract A growing body of scholarly literature suggests convergence or linkage between Criminal Gangs (CGs) and Violent Extremism (VE) in various parts of the world (Hubschle, 2011). However, the connection between CG and VE remains unclear and contrast substantially, based on area, context and perspective of criminal gangs and VE groups. While studies have been done in other parts of the world, no such studies have been done in the Coastal Region of Kenya to link CGs and VE groups. This is despite the widespread operation of VE groups such as the Somali based Al-Shabaab and many criminal gangs in the region to mention a few the Kapenguria six, Wajukuu wa Babu, Wakali Wao, Wakali Kwanza, Wajukuu wa Bibi, Wajukuu wa Mtume among others. Accordingly, this study provides the perception of peace actors, community, government and civil society personnel, on the Coast of Kenya on the nexus between criminal gangs and VE. The findings are based on a survey study involving sixty (60) peace actors who responded to a questionnaire study that was distributed in May and June 2019 in Mombasa, Kenya.

Kukua na kuenea kwa lugha ya Kiswahili nchini Tanzania kunategemea mambo mbalimbali kama vile kutumika katika maeneo na mifumo rasmi kwenye jamii husika. Historia ya lugha ya Kiswahili inaonekana kukua tangu wakati wa biashara ya watumwa, Waarabu, kipindi cha ukoloni wa Wajerumani na kipindi cha ukoloni wa Waingereza. Harakati za kusanifisha lugha ya Kiswahili kwa hatua mbalimbali za usanifishaji wake (1928- 1930) zilichapuza kukua na kusambaa kwa lugha ya Kiswahili. Baada ya uhuru wa Tanzania, Tanganyika wakati huo, lugha ya Kiswahili ilizidi kukua hasa baada ya serikali katika mwaka 1962 kuifanya kuwa lugha ya Taifa na lugha rasmi ya mawasiliano katika shughuli mbalimbali za kiserikali na zisizo za kiserikali. Vyombo mbalimbali vya kukuza Kiswahili viliundwa kama vile Baraza la Kiswahili la Tanzania (BAKITA), Taasisi ya Ukuzaji wa Kiswahili (TUKI) kutokana na kamati iliyokuwa ya usanifishaji wa lugha ya Kiswahili ya Afrika Mashariki na Idara ya Kiswahili ya Chuo Kikuu cha Dar es salaam, kuvitaja kwa uchache. Idara ya Kiswahili ya Chuo Kikuu cha Dar es Salaam ilikuwa na jukumu la kufundisha somo la Kiswahili na wataalamu wake kuandika masuala mbalimbali ya lugha ya Kiswahili. Mazoea yamekuwa kuviangalia vyombo hivi na serikali kwa ujumla kama ndio vyombo pekee vyenye wajibu wa kukuza na kuendeleza lugha ya Kiswahili Tanzania. Tukiachilia mbali vyombo hivi tulivyovitaja, yapo maeneo mengine yanayoweza kukuza na kuendeleza lugha ya Kiswahili ambayo ama hayajaangaliwa kwa kiasi cha kutosha au yamesahaulika. Moja ya maeneo ambayo matumizi ya lugha ya Kiswahili yanaweza kusukuma kukua na kuenea kwake ni eneo la tasinia ya sheria. Lengo la makala haya ni kubainisha namna tasinia ya sheria na taasisi za sheria zinavyosaidia kukua na kuenea kwa Kiswahili nchini Tanzania.

Layanan informasi bersamaan dengan layanan orientasi bermaksud memberikan pemahaman kepada individu-individu yang berkepentingan tentang berbagai hal yang diperlukan untuk menjalani suatu tugas atau kegiatan, atau untuk menentukan arah suatu tujuan atau rencana yang dikehendaki. Namun layanan guru bimbingan dan konseling dalam prosesnya masih banyak terdapat masalah-masalah dalam penerapannya seperti guru bimbingan dan konseling hanya pelengkap kegiatan, guru bimbingan dan konseling adalah “polisi sekolah”, bimbingan dan konseling hanya dilakukan pada siswa tertentu saja.

Katika makala haya, mtafiti anaeleza visababishi vya idadi kubwa ya wanafunzi katika shule za upili nchini Uganda kutochukua somo la Kiswahili. Wakati wa kupunguza idadi ya masomo kwa kila mwanafunzi unapofika, wanafunzi huwa na sababu za kimsingi zinazowafanya wapendelee masomo fulani na kuyakataa mengine. Kwa kawaida wanafunzi huwa hawalazimishwi kuchukua masomo fulani. Kila mwanafunzi huwa na uhuru wa kuchagua masomo anayoyapenda. Imebainika wazi kuwa nchini Uganda, wakati wa wanafunzi kupunguza idadi ya masomo unapofika, wengi wao huwa wanaacha somo la Kiswahili. Katika darasa la wanafunzi mia moja, ni wanafunzi kumi au kumi na watano tu ndio wanachukua Kiswahili. Hali hii inatisha sana hasa kwa wapenzi wa Kiswahili. Hivyo basi, mtafiti aliendeleza utafiti huu ili kueleza sababu zinazopelekea wanafunzi kufanya hivyo. Dhamira ya utafiti ni kueleza bayana kwa nini wanafunzi wengi nchini Uganda huwa hawachukui somo la Kiswahili. Madhumuni ya utafiti huu ni kueleza mielekeo ya wanafunzi wa shule za sekondari nchini Uganda dhidi ya ujifunzaji wa lugha ya Kiswahili na kufafanua hatua ambazo zinastahili kuchukuliwa ili kufanya idadi ya wanafunzi wa Kiswahili iongezeke. Katika kazi hii, mkabala wa utafiti ulikuwa wa nyanjani. Kwa kutumia mkabala huu, mtafiti alizuru nyanjani na kuendeleza mahojiano na wahojiwa wake. Abstract:

An annotated check-list and generic key to Old World members of the grassland leafhopper tribe Deltocephalini are provided. The Deltocephalus group of genera are discussed and one of the included genera, Recilia Edwards, is revised to include only two species, coronifer (Marshall) (= coroniceps Kirschbaum) and raoi (Dash & Viraktamath), comb. nov. (from Deltocephalus (Recilia)). All other species of Recilia are placed in Maiestas Distant, 1917, resulting in several new combinations (see species lists under Maiestas) and the following new junior synonyms of Maiestas: Togacephalus Matsumura 1940 syn. nov., Inazuma Ishihara, 1953, syn. nov., Inemadara Ishihara, 1953, syn. nov., and Insulanus Linnavuori, 1960a, syn. nov. Abstract:

Indonesian basic laws such as Civil Code and Code of Civil Procedure are those legislated in the Dutch colonial era and effective in written in Dutch language as genuine text as mentioned in other parts of this paper. Therefore you need amendment of laws to reform civil litigation system including reconciliation and mediation. Indonesians understand this point and they pointed out the issue of amendments of colonial laws at policy level and the do list up Code of Civil Procedure in the National Legislation Program in the parliament with draft written already. One issue of negotiation with the Supreme Court as one of Indonesian governmental body in relation with this project is about who to be sent to training in Japan. Training in a foreign country is a very attractive kind of technical cooperation. If the Japanese side paid much attention toward selection of trainees, then the training would be treated as a mere reward before retirement by the counter part. Those who we cannot expect a good performance or those who cannot make impact upon their bureaucracy might by chance participate the training.

To treat dynamic preferences correctly is inevitably required in legal reasoning. In this paper, we present a method which enables us to handle some class of dynamic preferences in the framework of circumscription and to consistently compute its metalevel and object-level reasoning by expressing them in an extended logic program. This is achieved on the basis of policy axioms and priority axioms which permit as to describe circumscription policy by axioms and play a role in intervening between metalevel and object-level reasoning. Not only the preference information among rules and metarules but also relations between dynamic preferences and priority axioms in circumscription are represented by a normal logic program. Thus, priorities can be derived from the preferences dynamically, which allows us to compute objectlevel circumscriptive theory using logic programming based on Wakaki and Satoh’s method.

Abstract:

Measuring the amount of rainfall is essential for a wide-area evaluation of the risk of landslide disaster using a real-time simulation. In Thailand, located in Monsoon Asia, point observation is conducted using a rain gauge. Interpolation calculation is crucial for obtaining the planar rainfall intensity for the wide-area analysis from scattered point observation data. In this study, to accurately calculate rainfall intensity using the inverse distance weighting (IDW) method, the parameters affecting the results are examined. Additionally, using obtained rainfall data, a simple prediction calculation of groundwater level fluctuation by Wakai et al. [1] and Ozaki et al. [2] is performed. Finally, the relationship between the rainfall intensity and the fluctuation of groundwater level will be discussed.

Wakan-yakuis a type of Japanese and Sino traditional, systematized medical care that has been practiced for hundreds of years. This medicinal system includes many antidepressive prescriptions. One of the candidates isHochuekkito, although experimental evidence has not yet been established clearly. To obtain evidence, a depression model of learned-helplessness (LH) mice was used. Based on the score of escape failure, an index of the depression degree, mice with a depressive condition were selected to assessHochuekkito’s effects. This selection was significant and effective in the following two points: evaluation of the drug effect under disease conditions and minimization of the number of animals. Treatment withHochuekkito(1 and 5 g/kg p.o.; estimated galenical amount) for 14 days significantly decreased the depression index, the number of escape failures, and desipramine (10 mg/kg p.o.) suggesting thatHochuekkitohas an antidepressive effect.

In recent years, sediment disaster has frequently been caused by heavy rainfall and has cost many human lives and great property losses. To estimate such risks, Wakai et al. [1] proposed a simplified prediction method to calculate the variation of groundwater levels in natural slopes both at the time of rainfall in wide areas and in real time. To calculate the variation of groundwater levels using this method, the slope conditions (such as material constant and initial conditions) must be determined in advance. This study takes the 2017 heavy rainfall in Northern Kyushu as an example to analyze surface layer thickness, one of the slope conditions that most significantly influences slope stability, over wide areas. The findings reveal that the prediction of slope failure distribution differs depending on how the surface layer thickness and sliding surface are determined.

Abstract In 1600, Japan-based Jesuits printed a moveable-type edition of the Wakan rōeishū (The Collection of Japanese and Chinese resonant verse), a bilingual anthology of classical Japanese and Chinese poetry that had long been an emblem of Japan’s literary world. Made to educate Japanese and foreigners alike in the scripts, languages, and literatures of Japan, the Amakusa Rōeishū was a component of an educational and evangelizing mission. Although it was neither translated into European languages nor widely circulated, the Amakusa Rōeishū represents an alternative to prevailing conceptions of world literature in its capacity to invite and challenge readers to work through its (decreasingly) foreign systems of meaning. By redesigning the anthology’s title page, reediting its contents, and repositioning it on a multilingual and multidirectional curriculum, Jesuit printers and teachers invited an incommensurate ecumene of readers to work through a singular text from a plurality of directions.
