The striving of the Republic of Kazakhstan for international integration and entry into influential international structures is impossible without the introduction of advanced experience in the field of labour law. Therewith, the labour law of each country is a unique and very broad branch of law; therefore, for the purposes of this study, such parameters as wages, provisions on weekends and holidays, as well as the issue of concluding and terminating an employment contract as the most fundamental labour law issues. This paper surveys some of the voluminous journalistic coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic and the public health responses that ensued. While investigative reporting in newspapers and news programming played an important function, we expose the terms of the underreporting about the lockdowns in institutions for the disabled and elderly that ultimately changed little about public knowledge of the lives of disabled people who were always or already confined. Second, we detail the rapid unfolding of a critical journalism that revealed the mortality-dealing conditions of institutionalization beyond

Conflicts about the independence of executive branch officials are brewing across the states. Governors vie with separately elected executive officials for policy control; attorneys general and governors spar over who speaks for the state in litigation, and legislatures seek to alter governors’ influence over independent state commissions. These disputes over intrastate authority have weighty policy implications both within states and beyond them, on topics from election administration and energy markets to healthcare and welfare. The disputes also reveal a blind spot. At the federal level, sc

AbstractWe present a theoretical framework in which an elitist and a non-elitist university in a developed country compete by choosing admission standards and deciding whether or not to open a branch campus in a developing country. Students from a developing country attend university if either a branch campus is opened or, they can afford to move to the developed country. We find that the elitist university is more likely to open a branch campus. This result is reversed if the gain, in terms of prestige, to attend the home campus of the elitist university more than offsets a student’s mobility

Abstract At the beginning of the twenty-first century, the most hotly contested questions in American courts involve the right to privacy. Abortion, sodomy laws, and gay marriage: these are the issues that roil judicial confirmation hearings and inflame interest groups on both sides of the political spectrum. It is now impossible to be confirmed to the Supreme Court unless you acknowledge that the Constitution protects some right to privacy—when Robert Bork denied this during his confirmation hearings in 1987, his fate was sealed. In this chapter, to account for the dynamic changes in the COVID-19 curves, the authors propose a rate function based on multiple branches of a logistic function. Abstract The Supreme Court in Roe v. Wade affirmed that women have the right of privacy to make choices about their own reproductive lives without state interference. The flaw in this perspective, however, is that it is not the state that imposes wrongful pregnancy: it is the fetus. The obvious question is why in over twenty years of reasoning about abortion rights the Court has failed to see that the primary right at stake is a woman’s right to be free of the fetus’s intrusion of her bodily integrity and liberty and, concomitantly, the state’s obligation to set her free to the degree that it

Purveyors of international aid and investment channeled capital to Indonesia beginning in 1966, but not in sufficient quantities or with sufficient regularity to allow Suharto to rapidly consolidate power. Weyl integration representation is ever regarded as a wave source. Weyl integration has feature of double Fourier integral formulas, and the traditional steepest-descent path method has been dealt with convergence of oscillatory terms in the integrands of wave source. Unfortunately, to solve the reflective or scattering waves, the equations contain singular poles and branch cuts on the complex plane, because variables of the integrands are shown in denominators and in square-root terms. Singular poles represent the Rayleigh waves, and they can be solved by residue values. However, the branch c
