Abstract Malaysia is experiencing an unprecedented growth of its urban centre due to its developing economy and industrialization, causing the demand of bricks production to be high. This increased the price of river sand. Further, the river sand may be depleted in the future if there is no alternative taken in reducing the usage of river sand in building materials due to the limited natural resources supply. Therefore, this research concentrates on using waste material like wood fiber waste (WFW) in order to reduce river sand in the fabrication of composite sand cement brick. This research is

These conditions triggered an uncontrolled booming of water hyacinth aquatic weed (Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms). The presence of water hyacinth triggers a significant loss of water compared to local weeds through evapotranspiration. The invasion of water hyacinth causes various problems, including depletion of water oxygen content which has an impact on decreasing fish production, damaging natural beauty, and also affecting public health. Abstract:
Colorado contains an abundance of historic mine-related waste materials, some of which may contain elevated concentrations of critical minerals and other metals. Many of these sites are currently being remediated by several entities including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), and/or other entities. Metal-laden water flows continuously from some of these acid mine drainage (AMD) sites where it is collected, treated, and discharged to local streams and rivers, depending on its potential impact to human health and the env

Full text
Abstract:
In 2010 the National Park Service (NPS) Southeast Coast Network (SECN) Inventory and Monitoring Program began collecting water-quality data in the estuarine waters near Fort Matanzas National Monument (FOMA) as part the NPS Vital Signs monitoring program. The continuous-monitoring data station is located at the visitors center dock. This station collects pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, salinity, specific conductance, turbidity and water-level data every 30 minutes. Information collected by this monitoring program will be used to help managers make better-informed decisions by understanding

Raikow, David, Jacob Gross, Amanda McCutcheon, and Anne Farahi. Trends in water quality and assessment of vegetation community structure in association with declining mangroves: A condition assessment of American Memorial Park. National Park Service, 2023. http://dx.doi.org/10.36967/2301598.

Full text
Abstract:
American Memorial Park (AMME) in Saipan contains a rare mangrove wetland that is known to support several endangered species. Through monitoring water quality and vegetation characteristics of the wetland for >10 years we documented a declining mangrove population, an increase in invasive plant species, and declining surface water salinity. Comprehensive surveys conducted in 2014 and 2019 quantified declines in the plant community observed by park staff. Surface water salinity declined from 2009 to 2018 and no other trend in surface water quality was observed. Over the time period of the pr

Frandsen, Martin, Jakob Vind Madsen, Rasmus Lund Jensen, and Michal Zbigniew Pomianowski. Domestic water measurement in two Danish office and educational buildings - Data set description. Aalborg University, 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.54337/aau481810642.

Full text
Abstract:
Measurement data of domestic water in non-residential buildings is sparse. More data is needed to describe the non-residential buildings’ domestic hot water (DHW) demand and to be able to design more efficient DHW systems. This DCE Technical Report aims to present and describe the data set: “Data set - Domestic water at CREATE and TMV23”. This data set contains measurement data from two office and educational buildings in Aalborg, Denmark. The measurements in the building CREATE are conducted from October 2018 to January 2019 and in the building TMV23 from April 2021 to May 2021. The data set

In 2006 the National Park Service (NPS) Southeast Coast Network (SECN) Inventory and Monitoring Program began collecting water-quality data in the estuarine waters near Fort Pulaski National Monument (FOPU) as part the NPS Vital Signs monitoring program. The continuous monitoring data station is approximately 1.5 kilometers south of the Fort entrance at a dock on Lazaretto Creek just upstream of its confluence with the Savannah River. Full text
Abstract:
This repository contains the simulation code (python) for reproducing the results of the accepted paper "Echo grid integration: A novel method for preprocessing multibeam water column data to quantify underwater gas bubble emissions." by Urban et. al. 2023 (Accepted) The program simulates multibeam water column images for virtual surveys over individual targets or target clouds and allows for testing the effects of different echo grid integration methods.
