Abstract:
Copper is used in diesel engine injectors and bearings, among other places. The corrosion and mechanical characteristics of these components when they are exposed to biodiesel are still lacking acceptable information. Nonetheless, there is a dearth of data on the corrosion and mechanical qualities of these components when exposed to alternative fuels such as biodiesel. In this study, waste-oil-derived biodiesel (WBB100) was blended with diesel fuel (WBB0) in the following proportions: B100:B0–10, 20, and 40 (WBB10, WBB20, and WBB40). ASTM standards were used to determine the blends' characteri

Abstract Healthcare systems are constantly expanding and gaining new territories. This growth is met with challenges in the organization and delivery of quality health care services to a large geographical area. The need for provider and staff coverage at the new sites often outpaces the rate at which additional providers and staff are hired. The need for new technology, equipment, and administrative support to oversee the new sites may also lag. The overall result could compromise patient experience at these outlying locations. Abstract The majority of randomized control trials and service-based screening studies of women ages 40–49 years demonstrate reductions in mortality of 29%–48% when long-term outcome is assessed. Annual screening is preferable in these younger women due to faster tumor-doubling times. Advances in mammography technique and breast ultrasound may allow even better results in the future.

Reproductive efficiency represents an essential aspect of farm management as the productivity and profitability of a farm depend on it, particularly in dairy farming. Early detection of pregnancy and identification of non- pregnant buffalo cows is fundamental in the management of reproduction because it allows an early resynchronization and rebreeding of the non-pregnant animals, shortening the calving-conception interval. Different pregnancy diagnostic tools are currently available; among these, the utilization of pregnancy- associated glycoproteins (PAGs) contributed significantly to the imp

Research on design of the first generation of Sunan Kalijaga’s high power UV-LED fluorescence spectroscopy system has been done. The purpose of this research was to make the first generation of Sunan Kalijaga’s high power UV-LED fluorescence spectroscopy system. This research was done in two steps, designing and manufacturing of the system. The result showed that a fluorescence spectroscopy system has been made succesfully using high power UV-LED of waveleght 365 nm as excitation source and webcam M-Tech WB100 as sensor. The data acquisition software was successfully created using LabVIEW.

Abstract:
The brain stem provides most of the noradrenaline (NA) present in the spinal cord, which functions to both increase spinal motoneuron excitability and inhibit sensory afferent transmission to motoneurons (excitatory postsynaptic potentials; EPSPs). NA increases motoneuron excitability by facilitating calcium-mediated persistent inward currents (Ca PICs) that are crucial for sustained motoneuron firing. Spinal cord transection eliminates most NA and accordingly causes an immediate loss of PICs and emergence of exaggerated EPSPs. However, with time PICs recover, and thus the exaggerated EPSPs ca

Abstract BACKGROUND: With current intensified chemotherapy, more than 70% of children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) are curable. However, prognosis of the patients at higher risk has been unsatisfied. More appropriate risk assignment and innovative treatment is expected to be developed. We conducted a clinical trial of JACLS ALL-97 including multi-agent block therapy followed by hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (SCT) for the selected higher risk patients. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Between April 1997 and March 2002, 674 patients aged 1 to 15 years with newly diagnosed ALL (excludin
