In addition to that, our model pinpoints the dynamics in a range of settings, in which the diffusivity ratio between the burned and unburned materials varies between 0 and 1. AbstractAs outlined in Chap. 1, the behavior of nonlinear systems is substantially richer than the one of linear systems. To deal with them there is a set of techniques, each one best suited to analyse particular aspects or particular classes of nonlinear systems. AbstractThis chapter is devoted to illustrating applications of the theory of weakly nonlinear time-varying systems with practical examples. After introducing the class of electrical networks called switched circuits, we analyse in details some instantiations. We analyse a practical implementation of a quadrature modulator, including its distortion and other aspects of fundamental importance in applications. As another example of the usefulness of time-varying circuits, we illustrate how they allow implementing highly selective filters that are otherwise unfeasible in small integrated form.
