Abstract:
In recent years, the term emotional intelligence has become popularized in the media, beginning with the success of Goleman's best-selling book Emotional Intelligence: Why It Can Matter More Than IQ (1995). Since the time this book was published, other media outlets including educational curriculums and Internet web sites have promoted this growing area of interest. Although emotional intelligence continues to be popular in the commercial media, there is actually very little scientific research on this topic. Currently, graphics in scientific articles are a critical information source and often provide essential information for a thorough understanding of scientific articles. People with visual and other impairments experience specific barriers that prevent them from accessing the information conveyed by figures. Therefore, when academic articles do not include universally accessible images,

As web applications occupy an increasingly important role in the day-to-day lives of millions of people, testing and analysis techniques that ensure that these applications function with a high level of quality are becoming even more essential. However, many software quality assurance techniques are not directly applicable to modern web applications. Certain characteristics, such as the use of HTTP and generated object programs, can make it difficult to identify software abstractions used by traditional quality assurance techniques. More generally, many of these abstractions are implemented d

Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) need to use Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to enhance their business processes to become competitive in the global economy. When an information system is introduced to an organisation it changes the original business environment thus changing the original requirements. This in turn will change the processes that are supported by the information system. Also when users get familiar with the system they ask for more functionality. This gives rise to a cycle of changes known as co-evolution. In addition, SMEs have budget constraints which make

Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI)<br>Our connections to the digital world are invoked by brands, but the intersection of branding and interaction design is still an under-investigated area. Particularly, current websites are designed not only to support essential user tasks, but also to communicate an institution's intended brand values and traits. What we do not yet know, however, is which design factors affect which aspect of a brand. To demystify this issue, three sub-projects were conducted. The first project developed a systematic approach for evaluating the bra
