Abstract:
This paper introduces a novel age estimation method using a new texture descriptor Weber Local Descriptor (WLD). This texture descriptor is analyzed in depth for age estimation problem. In the study, the multi-scale versions of holistic and spatial WLD (SWLD) descriptors are used to extract the age related features from normalized facial images. After finding a lower dimensional feature subspace, age estimation is performed using multiple linear regression. In addition the age estimation accuracy of each of the distinct and intersection block used in spatial texture extraction are investigated

After that, we use these differential excitations and orientations to construct the GWLD histogram representation. Abstract:
Controlling the porous structure of the cathode catalyst layer in a polymer electrolyte fuel cell is essential to reduce the reaction and mass transport resistance of the oxygen reduction reaction. As the catalyst layer is a coating of a catalyst ink, the aggregation structure of platinum-supported carbon (Pt/C) and ionomer in ink is a key property for achieving the optimal catalyst layer.1 Previous studies reported that the weight fraction of water in solvents could control aggregation structure in ink.2-4 For example, Kumano et al.2 reported that increasing the water ratio to 1-propanol enha

The Struge-Weber syndrome is the third most common neurodermal disease after neurofibromatosis and tuberous sclerosis. This disease is not inherited, but occurs exclusively sporadically, both in men and in women, and in all races and ethnic groups. In 90% of cases, this syndrome is diagnosed in pediatric practice. Adult cases of this syndrome are sporadic, since they remain unrecognized due to the polymorphism of this disease. Comorbidity between epilepsy and the Sturge-Weber syndrome was noted.Aim. Abstract:
AbstractThe paper discusses methods of historical semantics (word semantics and conceptual semantics). The example of the concept ‹Geist› of Max Weber will show means by which the linguistic description of complex semantic phenomena (transcending the level of single words) can be captured and described. Based on the original works of Max Weber, the concept ‹Geist› will be approached in three steps: investigation of the single word (the lexeme)
