Abstract:
Modern web applications and servers like Portal require adequate support for integration of search services due to user focused information delivery and user interaction, as well as new technologies used to render such information, which is exemplified by two fundamental problems that have long plagued web crawlers: dynamic content and Javascript generated content. Today, the solution is simple: ignore such web pages. To enable “search” in Portals, a different “crawling” paradigm is required to search engines to gather and consume information. WebSphere Portal provides a framework that propagates content and information through “Seedlists”—comparable to HTML based sitemaps but richer in terms of features. This mandates that information and content delivering applications must be “search engine aware”, requiring them to enable services and seedlists for fast, efficient and complete delivery of content and information. This is the main integration point for search engines into the portal for Portal site search services for a rich and user focused search experience. This article discusses how such technologies can allow for more efficient crawling of public Portal sites by prominent Internet search engines as well as myths surrounding search engine optimization.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
Applications are becoming more complex, more larger and demand high quality. Application Server is the component on which most of the applications are hosted. It acts in the middle tier providing lot of functionalities like transaction management, caching ,persistence clustering etc. There are a variety of application servers to choose from like JBoss, Websphere, Tomcat etc, some are open source while others are proprietary. Quality parameters like performance, availability, scalability, maintainability, re-usability vary between different application servers. The application servers can be analyzed and monitored for performance using various tools and metrics. The quality parameters of an application server are affected by various factors such as memory leak, poor performing code, etc. It is necessary to evaluate the performance, to verify if the quality requirements are met. Software Engineering has several methodologies, metrics and calculations to evaluate the quality requirements. [1] discusses the various measurements and metrics that can be used to calculate the quality parameters.

Abstract:
In the paper, we analyze problems of reliability and security in the world practice and in Russia. We consider aspects of modeling software/hardware systems from service resources and ready-made reuses with ensuring reliability and security. We present the formed basic and theoretical foundations of the modeling problem, the experience of using modern service tools SOA, SCA, SOAP in software/hardware systems and Web systems to ensure their reliability and security on the Internet. We note that software/hardware systems and Web systems are created by the assembly build method in modern environments: IBM WSDK + WebSphere, Apache Axis + Tomcat; Microsoft .Net + IIS, etc. Verification and testing of systems should be conducted for searching of errors that occur in exceptional cases (cyber-attacks, forbidden access to the database, etc.). We describe methods for analyzing such situations and applying reliability and security methods to ensure stable and trouble-free operation of software/hardware systems service components in the Internet information environment.

Abstract:
To avoid conflicts among trains at stations and provide passengers with a periodic train timetable to improve service level, this paper mainly focuses on the problem of multi-periodic train timetabling and routing by optimizing the routes of trains at stations and their entering time and leaving time on each chosen arrival–departure track at each visited station. Based on the constructed directed graph, including unidirectional and bidirectional tracks at stations and in sections, a mixed integer linear programming model with the goal of minimizing the total travel time of trains is formulated. Then, a strategy is introduced to reduce the number of constraints for improving the solved efficiency of the model. Finally, the performance, stability and practicability of the proposed method, as well as the impact of some main factors on the model are analyzed by numerous instances on both a constructed railway network and Guang-Zhu inter-city railway; they are solved using the commercial solver WebSphere ILOG CPLEX (International Business Machines Corporation, New York, NY, USA). Experimental results show that integrating multi-periodic train timetabling and routing can be conducive to improving the quality of a train timetable. Hence, good economic and social benefits for high-speed rail can be achieved, thus, further contributing to the sustained development of both high-speed railway systems and society.

Abstract:
VoiceXML is a language of the W3C to create voice-user interfaces, particularly for the telephone. It uses speech recognition and touchtone (DTMF keypad) for input, and pre-recorded audio and text-to-speech synthesis (TTS) for output. The text-to-speech synthesis feature of advanced VoiceXML tools like WebSphere opens new perspectives for e-commerce and e-learning. We are no longer restricted to pre-recorded audio but can bring any text to the ear of the user – a user that could be visually impaired and needs a voice channel to communicate – or a user who can read but who prefers to listen. VoiceXML-applications have been implemented by the authors to support e-commerce (selection of commodities from catalogues) and user guides for hardware (mobile phones, etc.) and software systems (MS project, etc.). New contributions to e-learning are offered.

Abstract:
Recent developments in information technology are influencing the field of engineering informatics in some profound ways. Nowhere is the influence more evident than in the use of Internet-based technologies and standards to share engineering and business information across a worldwide enterprise. In turn, the business need for collaboration among various players and partners in a globally integrated enterprise is driving the development and deployment of open standards, service-oriented architecture, and middleware. The convergence of these developments has provided us an opportunity to architect and implement a product information sharing service described in this paper. The architecture is service oriented and is based on the Object Management Group's PLM Services 1.0 specifications. It is implemented using IBM’s WebSphere Process Server middleware and PROSTEP’s OpenPDM software. This product information sharing service is one of the first industrial examples of a successful application of service-oriented architecture to product lifecycle management.
