This paper investigates the way speakers construct their identities as representatives of their companies (institutional identity construction) in relation to the way they “project” an identity onto their audiences. The audience is “altercasted” (Weinstein and Deutschberger 1963) in the role of potential buyer of a product, thus evoking the standardized relational pair (Sacks 1972) of seller/buyer. The speaker then presents his company in the complementary role of seller of a product and as such a link is established between the identities of the speaker’s company and the audience. This discur

Abstract Introduction A highly cited paper (HCP) is considered a landmark that can influence both research and clinical practice. The characteristics of HCPs in avascular necrosis of the femoral head (AVNFH) were identified and the research status was explored in a scientometric analysis. Methods The present bibliometric analysis were based on the Scopus database from 1991 to 2021. Microsoft Excel and VOSviewer were used for co-authorship, co-citation, and co-occurrence analysis. From 8496 papers, only 2.9% (244) were HCPs, with 200.8 citations registered per article. Results Of the HCPs, 11.9

AbstractWe show that contact reductions can be described in terms of symplectic reductions in the traditional Marsden–Weinstein–Meyer as well as the constant rank picture. The point is that we view contact structures as particular (homogeneous) symplectic structures. A group action by contactomorphisms is lifted to a Hamiltonian action on the corresponding symplectic manifold, called the symplectic cover of the contact manifold. In contrast to the majority of the literature in the subject, our approach includes general contact structures (not only co-oriented) and changes the traditional view

Summary Mammalian odorant receptors (ORs) are crucial for detecting a broad spectrum of odorants, yet their functional expression poses a significant challenge, often requiring Receptor-transporting proteins (RTPs). This study examines mouse Olfr733 and Olfr732, which, despite high homology, show different functional expression profiles in heterologous cell systems. Our research aimed to identify key amino acids impacting Olfr733's functional expression. We discovered that G112FBW3.40 and L148PBW4.49 (Ballesteros–Weinstein numbering in superscript) substitutions in Olfr732 markedly enhance its

The main goal of this paper is to give an overlook of the current state of sexual harassment. In order to do so, we started making a synthesis of the main theoretical approaches to explain sexual harassment, trying to group the studies into different currents that have historically analyzed this type of violence, to see whether the bibliometric analysis shows a similar presence of the different approaches. To carry out the bibliographic analysis we extracted the documents from the Scopus databases (using the keyword “sexual harassment” up to the year 2021 in the field of social sciences), wher

Abstract Background Hospital noise can adversely impact nurses’ health, their cognitive function and emotion and in turn, influence the quality of patient care and patient safety. Thus, the aim of this study was to predict the contributing roles of exposure to hospital noise, staff noise-sensitivity and annoyance, on the quality of patient care. Methods This descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out among nurses in an Iranian hospital. To determine nurses’ noise exposure level, the noise was measured in 1510 locations across the hospital in accordance with ISO 9612 standards using

Introduction and Objective: Glucagon (GCG), a polypeptide hormone released from pancreatic α-cells, regulates glucose homeostasis by stimulating hepatic glucose production during hypoglycemia. GCG secretion is dysregulated in type 1 and 2 diabetes, yet the molecular mechanisms underlying this phenomenon remain incompletely understood. Pancreatic α-cells express many G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) coupled to various functional classes of heterotrimeric G proteins (Gs, Gq/11, Gi/o, and G12/13). In this study, we investigated the role of different GPCR/G protein signaling pathways in modulat

Abstract In this article, the cosymplectic analogue of the symplectic flux homomorphism of a compact connected cosymplectic manifold ( M , η , ω ) \left(M,\eta ,\omega ) with ∂ M = ∅ \partial M=\varnothing is studied. This is a continuous map with respect to the C 0 {C}^{0} -metric, whose kernel is connected by smooth arcs and coincides with the subgroup of all weakly Hamiltonian diffeomorphisms. We discuss the cosymplectic analogue of the Weinstein’s chart, and derive that the group G η , ω ( M ) {G}_{\eta ,\omega }\left(M) of all cosymplectic diffeomorphisms isotopic to the identity map is l

A slash manip is a photo remix that montages visual signs from popular media with those from gay pornography, creating a new cultural artefact. Slash (see Russ) is a fannish practice that homoeroticises the bonds between male media characters and personalities—female pairings are categorised separately as ‘femslash’. Slash has been defined almost exclusively as a female practice. While fandom is indeed “women-centred” (Bury 2), such definitions have a tendency to exclude male contributions. Remix has been well acknowledged in discussions on slash, most notably video remix in relation to slash
