Full textThis survey-based observational study was designed to study an individual's Yoga experience as it relates to psychological wellness, physical wellness, and subjective well-being. Men and women ages 18–85 were recruited though Yoga studio participation and through word of mouth. They answered demographic question as well as items from four differential scales. Dependent variables included physical wellness, life satisfaction, mindfulness, and subjective vitality.
Data was analyzed using SPSS software. Results indicated that Yoga participants perceive higher levels of mental wellness, physical wellness, and subjective well-being. Additionally, Yoga participants, as compared to non-Yoga participants, were more likely to perceive higher levels of perceived wellness, in almost all domains tested, than exercisers versus nonexercisers.
The results of this study bring merit to Yoga participants' perception of wellness. Further studies could investigate a variety of topics. Understanding how long it takes a Yoga participant to feel higher levels of perceived wellness may be useful in designing intervention studies. Additionally, looking at different styles of Yoga, specifically āsana, meditation, and pranayama techniques, and implementation (home versus studio) would be useful in the design of future research studies.
Anecdotally, most Yoga participants would agree that practicing Yoga benefits their overall wellness. This study offers empirical evidence that Yoga participants experience higher levels of perceived wellness than non-Yoga participants. This research is significant as it validates the role Yoga plays in the health and well-being of participants.

Full textThe main objective of this thesis has been the development of procedures and methods for risk assessment of oil and gas wells. The work is limited to the well operational phase. The procedures and methods provide status of the well risk level during the life cycle from installation to abandonment of the well. The main focus is on the two main safety functions of the well:
a. To prevent uncontrolled leakage of well fluids from the well to the environment. This function is usually referred to as well integrity and is a continuous safety function that may fail at any instant of time.
b. To shut in the well flow in case of a dangerous incident on the downstream side of the x-mas tree. The shut-in function is an on demand function activated in a random critical situation.
In this context a systematic approach means to describe a procedure for risk assessment, with focus on quantitative/predictive analysis as a means to provide input to the assessment. The risk assessment is based on existing and new methods and knowledge gained during the PhD work.
The following contributions from the thesis are identified:
• A systematic approach for well risk assessment in the operational phase. A set of WRFs are identified that influence the total well risk. The procedure is primarily aimed at risk assessment in the operational phase after a well component failure has occurred.
• A method for constructing barrier diagrams. A barrier diagram is a structured way of describing a well as a barrier system. In the thesis it is shown how to calculate failure probability directly from the barrier diagram. Alternatively, the barrier diagram construction rules allows for converting the barrier diagram to a fault tree.
• A framework for assessing well component failure causes, acceptable deviations in well component performance, and dependent failures.
• A method for calculating the safety unavailability of safety functions, and a method for calculating the safety unavailability for different configurations of surface controlled subsurface safety valves.

This fact sheet is one in a series of fifteen for private water well owners. The one- to four-page fact sheets will be assembled into a two-pocket folder entitled Private Well Owners Guide. The titles will also be a part of the Changing Rural Landscapes project whose goal is to educate exurban, small acreage residents. The authors have made every effort to align the fact sheets with the proposed Arizona Cooperative Extension booklet An Arizona Well Owners Guide to Water Sources, Quality, Sources, Testing, Treatment, and Well Maintenance by Artiola and Uhlman. The private well owner project was funded by both the University of Arizonas Water Sustainability Program-Technology and Research Initiative Fund and the USDA-CSREES Region 9 Water Quality Program.

Full textThis research work seeks to solve a problem that is at alarming levels in Peru: overweight and obesity. Danma is a nutrition center specialized in nutritional coaching that also has endocrinology and nutrition workshops. Studies show that nutritional coaching increases dietary adherence and the results obtained are sustainable over time. After analyzing the macroenvironment and market research, the business is aimed at Business men and Executives between 25-50 years of SEL A and B who reside in 7 zone of Metropolitan Lima and is characterized by providing determining factors for success: a service that meets high standards of quality such as punctuality, flexible hours and by highly competent and updated professionals. In addition to being strategically located between the districts of San Isidro and San Borja and, with the help of a strong publicity, mainly in social networks, Danma will be known as the only nutrition center specialized in nutritional coaching that, not only practices what it promotes, but it is also a place that seeks personal transformation on a physical and mental level and leads to adopting a new way of living and being happy. An investment of S/. 329,725 where 55% will be financed and the rest by investors. The financial analysis showed a Net Present Value (NPV) of S/. 722,901 soles and an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 55% with an Opportunity Cost of Capital (OCC) of 11.8%, concluding being an economically, viable and cost effectiveness project.
