The linguistic and cultural type as one of the key concepts of linguistic personology and cultural linguistics has been studied by philologists for decades. The linguistic and cultural type of the "classic writer" is not fully described in the scientific literature today, but there is a need to understand its functioning in the era of the advent of the Internet. The article examines the contribution of Academician I. Yu. Krachkovsky to Arabic linguistics. There are about 40 of his works in this field — linguistic publications themselves or articles of various subjects, in which there were comments made “along the way” on some issues of Arabic linguistics. There are four main directions in Krachkovsky’s linguistic works: 1) historical dialectology; 2) modern dialects and issues of the language situation in the Arab world; 3) arabic literary language — primarily issues of lexicology and lexicography, foreign borrowings, textual studies; 4) teaching and

With the rise of online asynchronous learning and low levels of instructor presence, students have become self-regulated learners who must monitor their performance and adapt their learning strategies as necessary. Previous studies have shown that chatbots are a promising alternative to traditional study tools such as flashcards. This study examined the effects of a chatbot’s embodiment (Humanoid, Animated) and conversational style (Formal, Informal) on learning performance and behavioral engagement. Like other genres of folk literature, fairy tales of Vietnamese ethnicity with miraculous character systems become strongly influenced by Southeast Asia’s historical-cultural region. Apart from being influenced by farming, Buddhism, Confucianism, urbanism, Vietnamese fairy tales are deeply influenced by ethno-linguistic elements. Consequently, fairy tales do not preserve their root identities, but shift and emerge over time. The study investigates and classifies the miraculous tales of peoples of Vietnam with strange characters (fairies, gods, Buddha, devils) in linguistic and ethnographic gro

The intensity of the settlement of the southern region made it attractive for the study of toponymic names. Abstract. Cold spray is a promising solution for the production of metallic coatings on polymer substrates. However, the adhesion mechanism between the impacting particle and the polymer in cold spraying depends on the chemical structure of the polymer itself. In this scenario, the emerging vitrimer polymers, which were proved to combine enhanced mechanical and chemical performances with abilities to be healed, welded, reprocessed, and recycled and that show a ductile behavior when exposed to given operating temperatures, can be particularly suitable for being functionalized by cold spray. The impact of high-low misalignment on the load capacity of nominally defect-free girth welds was studied in this project. Two girth welds, one mechanized Gas Metal Arc Weld (GMAW) and the other, a manual Shielded Metal Arc Weld (SMAW) with intentional high-low misalignment, were used in this study. They were experimentally tested to determine material properties like their tensile strengths, hardness levels, and toughness. Tensile tests were con-ducted on cross weld specimens extracted from the two girth welds for assessing the effects of high-low misalignment on the load capacity of the weld

Large transverse strains were believed to arise from bending of the weld due to the thermal contraction of the weld around the pipe circumference. Large root strains were simulated in the laboratory using a bend test which enabled the effect of material composition and strength to be studied.
