Abstract:
For decades, the African continent has been perceived in a negative way and it has not been easy to change this international perception of the continent. During the past few years a deep change has taken place in the continent and in the eyes of the world. Africa is now open for business and Africa is also able to compete effectively in the international luxury market. The luxury market is constantly rising but it is not fully present on the African continent yet. The objective of this thesis is to decide whether or not luxury companies should tap into that new market with a widespread penetr

This research project began as a study of the content and comparability of curricula and examinations in selected Anglophone and Francophone West African countries. From this initial plan the main research question emerged. This was to assess the potential value of examinations for initiating and implementing curriculum reform. An analysis of the functions and uses of examinations, followed by an historical sketch of the establishment in Africa of Western style education systems provides a base for the study. During its emergence, Zika virus has been associated with more severe clinical manifestations, including neurological sequelae and congenital defects such as microcephaly. Nevertheless, most of its rural population remains without access to modern energy services and urban residents typically only enjoy an intermittent supply of electricity. This research examines the impact of public debt and financial instability on the economic growth of selected West African countries. The effect of public debt on an economy cannot be overemphasised. The amount of public debt that a country owes can either help in increasing the growth rates or it can result in situations that are detrimental to economic growth. Some scholars have argued that when public debt is not properly managed, it can be carried on to future generations by way of compound interest problems. Moreover, there is now a growing concern that the large external debt service payment is retarding economic growth and in
