The review of seismicity for Sakhalin in 2013 based on the data of four seismic stationary stations and 10 temporary digital seismic stations "DAT", working in the south of Sakhalin, is given. The main parameters of 688 earthquakes and focal mechanisms of five of them are determined. 42 earthquakes showed a macroseismic effect. The maps of the representativeness of earthquakes and of epicenters are given, the distribution of crust and deep earthquakes on the magnitude and their summarized energy for seven seismoactive districts are presented. For each area, seismic conditions are described. Th

To differentiate Sakhalin saffron cod, 3 types of parasites can be used: Pyramicocephalus phocarum pl., Nybelinia surmenicola pl. and Echinorhynchus gadi. From a practical point of view, as a biological label for the differentiation of the navaga hall. It is advisable to use indicators of infection with Nybelinia surmenicola l in the south-east of Sakhalin and the north-west of the island. To determine the location of the catch of the navaga (applicable only for the areas of the north-west, south-east of Sakhalin and zal. Patience) it is necessary to examine at least 100 specimens of fish.

Along with updated field measurements using the structural-geomorphological method, data on crustal deformation based on GPS/GLONASS measurements are presented. Data from geophysical studies (seismological and borehole methods) are given. Four original genetic regions of chum salmon reproduction have been figured out: West Kamchatka and northern part of the continental coast of the Sea of Okhotsk, Sakhalin, Ithurup (the Kuril Islands), the Amur basin, where the part of juvenile fish was found as a result of genetic identification in the mixed aggregations in the early period of marine feeding. For the first time, data on the K-Ar isotopic age and petrological-geochemical composition were obtained for igneous rocks using the core samples recovered from the previously drilled holes on the Sakhalin shelf. Based on these data, the igneous rocks were compared to the rocks of the Anivsky, Orlovsky, Lamanonsky, and Chekhovsky volcanic complexes. Isotopic dating on rocks from the Lesogorsky complex of hypabyssal small intrusions exposed on the west coast of Sakhalin Island allowed tighter constrains to be placed on the timing of its formation (8.9–16.2 Ma).

The language data for this study comes from a collection of traditional Ainu folklore elicited in 1903-1904 and published as Materials for the study of the Ainu language and folklore by Bronisław Piłsudski in 1912. The observations on phonetics, phonology, and morphosyntax will be discussed in light of more recent data coming from West Sakhalin Ainu dialects collected in the 1960s-1970s. This will allow for a brief consideration of the dialectal differences occurring between the two dialect subg
