Abstract:
The convolution product is widely used in many fields, such as signal processing, numerical analysis and so on; however, the convolution theorem in the domain of the windowed metaplectic transformation (WFMT) has not been studied. The primary goal of this paper is to give the convolution theorem of WFMT. Firstly, we review the definitions of the FMT and WFMT and give the inversion formula of the WFMT and the relationship between the FMT and WFMT. Then, according to the form of the classical convolution theorem and the convolution operator of the FMT, the convolution theorem in the domain of the WFMT is given. Finally, we prove the existence theorems of the proposed convolution theorem.

Abstract:
Tg2576 transgenic mice for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) exhibited significant phenotypes for neuropathological constipation, but no research has been conducted on the association of the fecal microbiota with dysbiosis. The correlation between fecal microbiota composition and neuropathological constipation in Tg2576 mice was investigated by examining the profile of fecal microbiota and fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) in 9–10-month-old Tg2576 mice with the AD phenotypes and constipation. Several constipation phenotypes, including stool parameters, colon length, and histopathological structures, were observed prominently in Tg2576 mice compared to the wild-type (WT) mice. The fecal microbiota of Tg2576 mice showed decreases in Bacteroidetes and increases in the Firmicutes and Proteobacteria populations at the phylum level. The FMT study showed that stool parameters, including weight, water content, and morphology, decreased remarkably in the FMT group transplanted with a fecal suspension of Tg2576 mice (TgFMT) compared to the FMT group transplanted with a fecal suspension of WT mice (WFMT). The distribution of myenteric neurons and the interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC), as well as the enteric nervous system (ENS) function, remained lower in the TgFMT group. These results suggest that the neuropathological constipation phenotypes of Tg2576 mice may be tightly linked to the dysbiosis of the fecal microbiota.

Abstract:
Word-formation models of inhabitant nouns (nomina habitatorum) in contemporary Bulgarian and CzechThe article analyses the word-formation models (WFM) of the nomina habitatorum in Bulgarian and Czech. The term WFM is very similar to, but not conterminous with, the concept of word-formation type (WFT) as defined by Miloš Dokulil. WFT is understood here as superordinate in relation to WFM. WFT is defined by the same set of properties as WFM but differs from the latter according to the character of the formant; while in FM the character is physical (formal, based on sound), in WFT the character of the formant is functional and structural. The formant assigns the derivative to affixation, paradigmatic or composition word-formation pattern. As lexemes naming a person in accordance with a particular place, the nomina habitatorum constitute a subcategory within the word-formation category of nouns of belonging (nomina pertinentia). The word-formation meaning of nomina habitatorum can be represented by the paraphrase “X belongs to Y,” where X is a person and Y – a place in a broad sense. Modele słowotwórcze rzeczowników oznaczających nazwy mieszkańców (nomina habitatorum) we współczesnym języku bułgarskim i czeskimArtykuł analizuje modele słowotwórcze rzeczowników z klasy nomina habitatorum we współczesnym języku bułgarskim i czeskim. Znaczenie słowotwórcze rzeczowników z grupy nomina habitatorum można wyrazić parafrazą „X należy do Y”, gdzie X to osoba, a Y – szeroko pojęte miejsce.

Abstract. Methane total-vertical column retrievals from ground-based solar FTIR measurements at the Permanent Ground-Truthing Station Zugspitze (47.42° N, 10.98° E, 2964 m a.s.l.), Germany are used to validate column averaged methane retrieved from ENVISAT/SCIAMACHY spectra by WFM-DOAS (WFMD) version 0.4 and 0.41 for 153 days in 2003. Smoothing errors are estimated to be below 0.10% for FTIR and 0.14% for SCIAMACHY-WFMD retrievals and can be neglected for the assessment of observed bias and day-to-day-scatter. In order to minimize the altitude-difference effect, dry-air column averaged mixing ratios (XCH4) have been utilized. From the FTIR-time series of XCH4 an atmospheric day-to-day variability of 1% was found, and a sinusoidal annual cycle with a ≈1.6% amplitude. To obtain the WFMD bias, a polynomial fitted to the FTIR series was used as a reference. The result is WFMD v0.4/FTIR=1.008±0.019 and WFMD v0.41/FTIR=1.058±0.008. WFMD v0.41 was significantly improved by a time-dependent bias correction. It can still not capture the natural day-to-day variability, i.e., the standard deviation calculated from the daily-mean values is 2.4% using averages within a 2000-km radius, and 2.7% for a 1000-km radius. These numbers are dominated by a residual time-dependent bias in the order of 3%/month. The latter can be reduced, e.g., from 2.4% to 1.6% as shown by an empirical time-dependent bias correction. Standard deviations of the daily means, calculated from the individual measurements of each day, are excluding time-dependent biases, thus showing the potential precision of WFMD daily means, i.e., 0.3% for a 2000-km selection radius, and 0.6% for a 1000-km selection radius. Therefore, the natural variability could be captured under the prerequisite of further advanced time-dependent bias corrections, or the use of other channels, where the icing issue is less prominent.

Specially picked up web-chamber is used for visualization of domain structure in hematite. An analysis of domain configuration shows, that domain structure of hematite in a basal plane represents multilayered structure which contains domains both in paralleled thickness and in the parallel basal planes. The temperature features of magnetic permeability and domain structures in Fe2O3:Ga crystals near the Morin transition are investigated. Observable changes of magnetic permeability and changes in domain structure confirm that transition from АFM to WFM occurs in the hematite with Ga impurity as transition of the first sort. Results of research of antiferromagnetic and weakly ferromagnetic resonances (AFMR and WFMR) in these compounds are presented.

Finalmente, é implementado um protótipo para avaliar e validar as idéias apresentadas.<br>The workflow technology is in an initial phase, however, it has been growing in the last years.

Abstract:
[EN] In this thesis a real application related to the string correction process from an OCR classifier in a form digitizing task is presented. These strings come from a classifier with a given error ratio that implies that some characters in the string have been potentially misclassified, producing erroneous words. This raises the need to introduce some kind of postprocess to improve the strings. The implementation of such postprocess takes into account all the available evidence in a given moment. In the case proposed here, these evidences are the charactersrecognized by the classifier with their posterior probabilities, the confusion matrix between symbols and the language model finally accepted. Each evidence is modelled independently by means of a WFST and then combined by means of the composition operation into a single integrated automata. From this automata, the path that maximizes the probability is selected. This path is the string, that belongs to the language model, that is the nearest string to the OCR hypothesis according to the confusion matrix. The final system offers two different results: on the one hand the corrected string, on the other hand the transformation cost produced during the string correction. Additionally, it is proposed a general method of error estimation using the input string transformation cost that establishes a threshold in terms of the cost and the proposed end-user parameter: the acceptable final error. This thesis presents a method for estimating adaptive rejection threshold estimation that allows for a certain percentage of error in a lot of strings from one language (sample) that presents several advantages. On the one hand, it is independent from transformation cost postprocessing distribution of such samples. On the other hand, it allows the user to set the threshold for a familiar and advantageous manner, as is setting the desired rate of sampling error. For this, first, and for a given language, a model that estimates the probability of error associated with the acceptation of postprocessed strings with a given transformation cost is defined. Then, the procedure that performs the rejection threshold estimation adaptively in order to achieve predefined rate error for a test batch is presented. In addition, an approach to obtain the above model is proposed when there are no real and supervised OCR hypothesis in the learning stage. The chapter is accompanied by experiments whose results demonstrate the utility of the proposed method. Next, linking in somehow with the search for an increased productivity in a possible string validation task, of previously strings rejected by the system through the foregoing error estimation method, a method of multimodal and interactive human-computer interaction that composes the above information with the prefix introduced by the user, while the validation process occurs, making use, for this, of WFST and the automata composition operation. The search for the most likely string for each new interaction offered by the user, in the composed automata, presented here, shows a clear increase in productivity by requiring fewer keystrokes in obtaining the correct string. Finally, a tolerant fault multimodal and interactive interface, using also WFST, is shown by making the composition of different information sources together with an error model related with the possible confusion caused due to the arrangement of keys on a keyboard. The application shown in this case is related to the introduction of a destination into a GPS device where is considered both the information related to the next destinations to a specific place, such as the information related to the entered prefix and errors that may occur due to the arrangement of keys on the input device considered.<br>[ES] En esta tesis se presenta inicialmente una aplicación real de corrección de cadenas procedentes de un clasificador OCR en una tarea de digitalización de formularios. Abstract:
Thesis (MSc)--Stellenbosch University, 2012.<br>ENGLISH ABSTRACT: The Centre for Rehabilitation Studies, Faculty Health Sciences, University of ENGLISH ABSTRACT: Stellenbosch, South Africa, delivers a rehabilitation training programme to its MBChB students. The aim of this programme is to equip graduates with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to manage persons with disabilities in the community which aligns with both the faculty mission and the National Department of Health’s 2010 Plan. In line with rehabilitation philosophies a generic approach using the International Classification of Function, Disability and Health is used in this programme. Feedback has been received from the students at the end of each of the rehabilitation modules and the programme has been reviewed annually by the Module Chair Persons and Rehabilitation Programme Co-ordinator. It had however never been formally evaluated and hence the need for this study. In this study a cross-sectional description of the programme was made using the framework of the World Health Organisation approved World Federation for Medical Education’s Global Standards for basic medical education. Sixty five themes were arranged according to the original nine areas of the standards. Interviews and questionnaires were designed and documentation was reviewed to obtain quantitative and qualitative data from direct and indirect stakeholders from nine population samples. Participants included faculty staff, students as well as rehabilitation experts and persons with disabilities. The analysis of the results of the data collected between March and September 2011 showed that the programme was compliant against 40 of the 65 indicators. The programme was compliant regarding the area pertaining to the mission and objectives and largely compliant regarding the content and delivery of the programme. Where there was non compliance or room for improvement regarding the content, delivery and assessment of the students, recommendations were made, reviewed by the programme committee in November 2011 and implementation was planned for January 2012. Shortcomings identified in the training and support of teaching staff, availability of training resources and in the administrative support of the programme were referred to the Head of the Centre for Rehabilitation Studies. Non-compliance regarding electives and enrolment of medical students with disabilities was considered beyond the immediate control of the programme and were to be referred to the Faculty Health Sciences management. The results showed non-compliance of monitoring and evaluation of the programme, supporting the original need for this study. The indicators were deemed comprehensive and relevant for this evaluation of the rehabilitation programme. It was recommended that four indicators be refined according to the results of this study and that the lists of heath conditions and bio psychosocial problems that persons with disability experience be further validated. Three changes to the tools were recommended should they be used for repeat evaluations of the programme. It was recommended that the methods used to monitor the programme be reviewed allowing for more specific feedback against selected indicators, with wider stakeholder input including lecturers. A final recommendation was that the post of the Rehabilitation Programme Co-ordinator be evaluated in order to effect these recommendations.<br>AFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: Die Sentrum vir Rehabilitasie Studies, Fakulteit Gesondheidswetenskappe, Universiteit van Stellenbosch, Suid-Afrika, lewer 'n rehabilitasie-opleidingsprogram aan sy MBChB-studente.

Eminovic, Nejra, and Rana Tajik. "How to Improve a Planning System and Workflow in a Quality Control Laboratory : A Case Study at Fresenius Kabi in Sweden." Thesis, KTH, Industriell ekonomi och organisation (Inst.), 2021. http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:kth:diva-300149.

Full text
Abstract:
Laboratories within quality control are very complicated to schedule due to the high product mix and diversified products tested with many different analysts and instruments. Thus, it requires a flexible planning system to change and improve the overall lab performance and increase efficiency. This thesis is a case study in collaboration with Fresenius Kabi AB and the quality control (QC) department in Uppsala. The QC department has an inflow of batches from the production department as well as from internal customers. Internal customers usually send batches that are part of stability studies or projects. These stability batches arrive at the QC department within irregular intervals and sometimes tightly adjacent, making the QC planning more complex, creating backlogs. Hence, the question in the study is formulated: ● How to improve a planning system and workflow in a quality control department? The current condition of batch inflow and how the planning system is managed today have to be understood to answer the question. Hence, the following sub-questions will be answered: ○ How is the current planning system at the quality control structured? ○ How is the inflow of stability batches at the department made more even andpredictable? This study aims to accomplish a practical planning system to prevent WIP, bottlenecks, and backlogs. The thesis is based on a qualitative method involving an inductive approach. The data collected mainly includes data from incoming batches, interviews, and literature studiesto gain multiple perspectives on the covered area. The study results showed that the internal customers were not satisfied with the current delivery times of QC. The common patterns identified are that internal customers want more contact and cooperation with the QC department. Furthermore, the result shows that the QC can handle the batches that arrive, but the planning system is not good enough. The proposed improvements to the current planning  system are mainly to change it to a longer-term planning system and introduce a standard log or planning system between the internal departments. Also, QC should reorganize the lab and schedule based on common analysis to accomplish a higher efficiency of the scheduling. Further recommendations include more transparency and precise planning between departments to improve the inflow of the stability batches.<br>Quality Control (QC) laboratorium är svåra att planera detta på grund den höga mängden och variationen av produkter.

Abstract:
Abstract In 1989, Amoco Production Company initiated an internal inspection program to detect cracking in sour and amine service pressure vessels. Vessels inspected in oil and gas production facilities included inlet separation, amine sweetening, liquid recovery and dehydration units. The results of 562 inspections are discussed. Wet fluorescent magnetic particle testing (WFMT) of welds revealed environmental stress cracking in 13% of the vessels. This sensitive technique also detected manufacturing related cracking and/or defects in an additional 35% of the vessels. The effects of type of steel, age of vessel, heat treatment, fabrication practices, and service conditions on the incidence rate of cracking are presented. Changes in specifications to minimize the likelihood of cracking of newly constructed vessels are reviewed.

Abstract:
Abstract Based on recent laboratory data and field experiences, the use of HIC resistant steels as a viable solution to wet H2S cracking problems in refineries is being questioned. The use of HIC resistant steels, even with post weld heat treatment (PWHT), may not be a valid means to achieve the common end user goals of both reducing the risk of through wall vessel leaks and reducing inspection and maintenance costs associated with refinery wet H2S service vessels. Some currently available data does not support adjusting vessel inspection intervals based on type of steel, PWHT condition, or even prior cracking history, as even subtle changes in process conditions in higher risk services can promote cracking where none existed previously. Prior versions of some refinery wet H2S inspection programs allowed for significant adjustments of inspection intervals based upon these parameters. Some current wet H2S inspection programs call for frequent WFMT inspection (typically 5 years maximum) for all vessels in high risk wet H2S service and allow for extension of inspection intervals only when corrosion barriers (e.g. cladding or coating) are present. This paper provides some specifics on the data behind these recent philosophy changes.

Abstract:
Abstract The catastrophic rupture of several deaerator vessels in the pulp and paper industry in the early 80's prompted Exxon refineries worldwide to inspect all deaerators for evidence of cracking. To date, based upon inspection by wet fluorescent magnetic particle testing (WFMPT), cracks have been found in 42% of examined vessels. Metallurgical examination of the cracks suggest a mixed mode corrosion fatigue, stress-induced-corrosion crack mechanism caused by the interaction of residual weldment and localized tensile stress, corrosive feedwater, and fluctuating operating pressure or temperature levels. Remedial measures to minimize the potential for cracking and assure future deaerator operating reliability include full thermal stress relief of welds, improved deaerator design, tightened water quality control and maintenance of stable operating conditions, together with periodic reinspection by WFMPT.

Heinz, Kevin, Itamar Glazer, Moshe Coll, Amanda Chau, and Andrew Chow. Use of multiple biological control agents for control of western flower thrips. United States Department of Agriculture, 2004. http://dx.doi.org/10.32747/2004.7613875.bard.

Full text
Abstract:
The western flower thrips (WFT), Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande), is a serious widespread pest of vegetable and ornamental crops worldwide. Chemical control for Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) on floriculture or vegetable crops can be difficult because this pest has developed resistance to many insecticides and also tends to hide within flowers, buds, and apical meristems. Predatory bugs, predatory mites, and entomopathogenic nematodes are commercially available in both the US and Israel for control of WFT. Predatory bugs, such as Orius species, can suppress high WFT densities but have limited ability to attack thrips within confined plant parts. Predatory mites can reach more confined habitats than predatory bugs, but kill primarily first-instar larvae of thrips. Entomopathogenic nematodes can directly kill or sterilize most thrips stages, but have limited mobility and are vulnerable to desiccation in certain parts of the crop canopy. However, simultaneous use of two or more agents may provide both effective and cost efficient control of WFT through complimentary predation and/or parasitism. The general goal of our project was to evaluate whether suppression of WFT could be enhanced by inundative or inoculative releases of Orius predators with either predatory mites or entomopathogenic nematodes. Whether pest suppression is best when single or multiple biological control agents are used, is an issue of importance to the practice of biological control. For our investigations in Texas, we used Orius insidiosus(Say), the predatory mite, Amblyseius degeneransBerlese, and the predatory mite, Amblyseius swirskii(Athias-Henriot). In Israel, the research focused on Orius laevigatus (Fieber) and the entomopathogenic nematode, Steinernema felpiae. Our specific objectives were to: (1) quantify the spatial distribution and population growth of WFT and WFT natural enemies on greenhouse roses (Texas) and peppers (Israel), (2) assess interspecific interactions among WFT natural enemies, (3) measure WFT population suppression resulting from single or multiple species releases. Revisions to our project after the first year were: (1) use of A. swirskiiin place of A. degeneransfor the majority of our predatory mite and Orius studies, (2) use of S. felpiaein place of Thripinema nicklewoodi for all of the nematode and Orius studies. We utilized laboratory experiments, greenhouse studies, field trials and mathematical modeling to achieve our objectives. In greenhouse trials, we found that concurrent releases of A.degeneranswith O. insidiosusdid not improve control of F. occidentalis on cut roses over releases of only O. insidiosus. Suppression of WFT by augmentative releases A. swirskiialone was superior to augmentative releases of O. insidiosusalone and similar to concurrent releases of both predator species on cut roses. In laboratory studies, we discovered that O. insidiosusis a generalist predator that ‘switches’ to the most abundant prey and will kill significant numbers of A. swirskiior A. degeneransif WFTbecome relatively less abundant. Our findings indicate that intraguild interactions between Orius and Amblyseius species could hinder suppression of thrips populations and combinations of these natural enemies may not enhance biological control on certain crops. Intraguild interactions between S. felpiaeand O. laevigatus were found to be more complex than those between O. insidiosusand predatory mites. In laboratory studies, we found that S. felpiaecould infect and kill either adult or immature O. laevigatus. Although adult O. laevigatus tended to avoid areas infested by S. felpiaein Petri dish arenas, they did not show preference between healthy WFT and WFT infected with S. felpiaein choice tests. In field cage trials, suppression of WFT on sweet-pepper was similar in treatments with only O. laevigatus or both O. laevigatus and S. felpiae. Distribution and numbers of O. laevigatus on pepper plants also did not differ between cages with or without S. felpiae. Low survivorship of S. felpiaeafter foliar applications to sweet-pepper may explain, in part, the absence of effects in the field trials. Finally, we were interested in how differential predation on different developmental stages of WFT (Orius feeding on WFT nymphs inhabiting foliage and flowers, nematodes that attack prepupae and pupae in the soil) affects community dynamics. To better understand these interactions, we constructed a model based on Lotka-Volterra predator-prey theory and our simulations showed that differential predation, where predators tend to concentrate on one WFT stage contribute to system stability and permanence while predators that tend to mix different WFT stages reduce system stability and permanence.
