Abstract:
Channel bonding is a technique first defined in the IEEE 802.11n standard to increase the throughput in wireless networks by means of using wider channels. In IEEE 802.11n (nowadays also known as Wi-Fi 4), it is possible to use 40 MHz channels instead of the classical 20 MHz channels. Although using channel bonding can increase the throughput, the classic 802.11 setting only allows for two orthogonal channels in the 2.4 GHz frequency band, which is not enough for proper channel assignment in dense settings. For that reason, it is commonly accepted that channel bonding is not suitable for this

A compact circular structured monopole antenna for ultrawideband (UWB) and UWB dual-band notch applications is designed and fabricated on an FR4 substrate. The UWB antenna has a hybrid configuration of the circle and three ellipses as the radiating plane and less than a quarter-lowered ground plane. The overall dimensions of the projected antennas are 16 × 11 × 1.6 mm3, having a −10 dB impedance bandwidth of 113% (3.7–13.3 GHz). Further, two frequency band notches were created using two inverted U-shaped slots on the radiator. These slots notch the frequency band from 5–5.6 GHz and 7.3–8.3 GHz

Following a trend similar to Moore’s low which prevailed for decades for active circuits, RF integrated passive components have reinvented themselves over the years in order to sustain continuous performance and size requirements. Their roadmap is still unrolling, thanks to a wide variety of new materials integration: high-k dielectrics for capacitors[1] ,[2] , magnetic material for inductors [3], aluminium nitride[4] (now scandium doped) for RF filters, or more recently phase-change materials for RF switches[5]. The article examines the technical features of the new 802.11ax standard, which for convenience has been assigned the abbreviation Wi-Fi 6. These include: support for 2.4 and 5 GHz bands; OFDMA support; joint work of MU-MIMO and OFDMA; Target Wake Time function. OFDM technology divides data channels into multiple subcarriers, providing higher connection and network reliability. In 802.11ax, the number of subcarriers quadruples due to the long OFDM guard interval. This will help increase the network coverage, and, accordingly, the speed of Wi-Fi 6 by 11%. This paper presents a novel CPW fed patch antenna supporting a wide band from 2.7 GHz – 6.5 GHz. The antenna is compact with size 32 x 30 x 1.6mm3, built over FR4-epoxy substrate (εr=4.4). Bandwidth enhancement has been achieved by using the concept of modified ground structure (MGS). For this purpose structural design has been optimized by parametric simulations in CST MWS.
