Electrocardiographic monitoring for dysrhythmias is a major responsibility of critical care nurses, and patients with wide QRS complex tachycardias present a challenge. Criteria for differentiating the impulse origin as ventricular or supraventricular are well documented: QRS duration, QRS morphology, QRS axis, and presence of atrioventricular dissociation. However, definitive diagnosis can only be made by invasive electrophysiologic studies. Knowledge of treatment protocols is important to prevent hemodynamic deterioration. Procainamide is effective for treating ventricular and supraventricul

To prevent a power grid from having disturbances that may, in a worst case scenario, blackout entire countries, Transmission System Operators (TSO) want to be able to see what happens in different parts of the network faster, to have time to do the necessary changes and regulate the power grid. For this reason, a new technology called PMU-based Wide Area Monitoring System (WAMS) has been introduced to allow the real-time monitoring of the power grid. Due to having real-time information from many points in a large geographical area, the PMU technology allows the development of advanced applicat

In this work, we have addressed the complex problem associated with classical reverse path forwarding and have proposed an algorithm to reduce the duplicate packets generated when broadcasting in wide area networks. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are increasingly recognised as important signalling molecules that act through the oxidation of protein cysteine residues. Comprehensive identification of redox-regulated proteins and pathways is crucial to understand ROS-mediated events. Identifying cysteine oxidation on a wholeproteome scale remains a technical challenge due to the low abundance of oxidised thiols. Redox proteomics techniques therefore use multistep enrichment protocols, but these have inherent limitations and inform only on the enriched proteome. Carrier capture in quantum wells (QWs) has been intensively studied in the past years, especially concerning the dependence of the capture time on QW and barrier dimensions [1]. In particular, in structures such as crescent-shaped QWRs grown on V-groove substrates, in which the carriers are transferred via both 3D barrier and 2D QW regions surrounding the wires, the carrier capture into the QWRs can be quite complex.
