Abstract:
A 53-year-old male underwent more than 10 surgical treatments over 14 years, including a simple excision and local flap transfer, after recurrences of dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans of the head. Clinical results indicated that simple excision of dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans should not be performed as initial treatment. Instead, free flap transplantation, which permits a wide excision and complete reconstruction, should be the first treatment option.

Abstract MALIGNANT PRIMARY SPINAL tumors are rare tumors that are locally invasive and can metastasize. The majority of these tumors have a poor response rate to chemotherapy and conventional radiotherapy. Studies have shown that long-term survival and the potential for cure is best achieved with en bloc surgical excision of these tumors with negative surgical margins. Total en bloc spondylectomy involves removal of vertebral segment(s) in whole to achieve wide tumor excision. Total en bloc spondylectomy can be performed through staged or combined anterior and posterior approaches, or from a p

Surgical management included a wide local excision of the mass and chest wall with immediate reconstruction. Histopathology showed malignant transformation with negative margins. Phyllodes tumors are rare fibro-epithelial tumors that are known to grow very rapidly in a short period. The tumor is known for its propensity to recur locally despite adequate wide excisions and even mastectomies. This case report is of a woman who had a recurrent Phyllodes tumor in a peculiar location. Phyllodes tumours are generally confined to arising from the breast; however, in this case, we found it arising from the anterior abdominal wall. The tumour was removed with a 2 cm margin of excision. The large defect that remained after excision was reconstructed using a latissimus dorsi flap
