Abstract In the US and globally, Black men experience the highest prostate cancer burden among all racial and ethnic groups, underscoring the urgent need for research to guide the development and implementation of culturally tailored strategies aimed at reducing disparities and improving outcomes. In response, the Inclusive Cancer Care Research Equity (iCCaRE) Consortium was created to advance health equity and reduce disparities in prostate cancer. Importantly, a Survivorship Care Plan (SCP) is recommended to educate and empower patients, enabling them to be better informed about their cancer

By analyzing wills submitted for execution to Israeli tribunals in the years 2000–2004, this article offers insights into the process of the legalization of death and family relations. The length, aesthetics, phrasing, and contents of the wills examined are all evidence of a process in which the personal wishes of testators are transformed into a standardized legal document that tells very little about the individual testator. The rarity of cases in which testators do use their wills to disclose personal sentiments and thoughts highlights the neglected potential of wills to constitute a unique

Abstract The present study analyzes differences in parental stress in families of children with Down, Williams, Fragile X, and Prader-Willi syndromes, exploring factors that influence parental stress, such as child's characteristics, parental locus of control, and family cohesion and adaptability. Differences between mothers and fathers are also investigated. Parents were given self-report questionnaires to assess family stress, parental locus of control, and family cohesion and adaptability. Results showed that stress levels were lower in families of children with Down syndrome and higher in

It is a matter of common observation that in family courts, more often than not, the cases about inheritance involve disputes regarding wills and gifts. It is, therefore, necessary for lawyers and judges to have a sound understanding of the interplay of the principles of inheritance, wills and gifts. This paper explains some of these fundamental principles and the way they interact with each other.

Abstract Chromatin remodeling is mediated by ATP-dependent enzymes that play key roles regulating gene expression and genome replication/repair. Aberrant nucleosome organization from dysregulated chromatin remodeling can severely alter chromatin accessibility and disrupt these important processes, thereby driving various cancers. Remarkably, nearly 20% of all human cancers contain mutations in subunits from the SWI/SNF family of chromatin remodeling complexes, making them of great interest to basic research and therapeutic intervention. As a writing of leaving one’s own feelings and requests after a woman decides to put herself to death, a virtuous woman’s will does not originally describe her lifetime. However, this thesis paid attention to the aspect in which such virtuous women’s wills unintentionally reveal the life traces and relationship of the will writer. Thus, this thesis takes a perspective in which a will has meanings as language and self-lifetime record in the traces of her own existence and lifetime. Especially, it aimed to examine that such ‘self-descriptive elements’ were significantly revealed in virtuous wome

Abstract Ethical wills communicate a legacy of values through non-legal emotional and supportive instruction to others and are distinct from legal or living wills. Employed for centuries, little is known about how and why ethical wills are used. We conducted the first scoping review on ethical wills to survey the breadth of published information and identify how they are defined and utilized. We followed the Joanna Briggs Institute methodology for scoping reviews employing an a priori protocol and PRISMA-ScR reporting guidelines . Wills have a strong legal basis in Islamic law through the Koran, hadith and the views of ulama, including Imam Syafi'i. In his view, a will is a charity that takes effect after the death of the testator and must be fulfilled as long as it is in accordance with the Shari'a, such as not exceeding one third of the inherited assets without the consent of the heirs. Instead, real rights change rules specific to wills should be applied directly based on a systematic interpretation of the Civil Code. Wills can be implemented through two pr
