This position statement was inspired by the “Position Statement on Graduate Students in Writing Center Administration” (endorsed by the International Writing Center Association on November 17, 2001). A purpose of the document, to borrow language from the graduate student position statement, is to “[suggest] an ideal set of conditions,” and it is written with the “intention of improving working conditions” within the two-year college writing center. Ultimately, though, its main purpose is to help community college writing centers establish a collective argument in defense of what we do.

As the Journal of Plasma Physics so fittingly dedicates this current volume to honor Professor Padma Kant Shukla, for his extraordinary and prolific contributions to the field, over a period spanning four decades, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, it gives me great pleasure to contribute this personal tribute. Padma is without doubt one of the preeminent plasma theorists of his generation with a productivity that is phenomenal and perhaps unmatched (well in excess of 1000). What is truly impressive is not only his extraordinary productivity but also the depth and breadth of his contributio

Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) and specialist care made a late beginning in developing countries and has progressed quite slowly, compared to the developed world. Historically, medical graduates in developing countries desiring to pursue PGME had to travel to Western centers to acquire specialist qualifications; and after having spent a significant time period it became difficult for them to return from those settings, resulting in “brain drain” from the developing nations and a loss of national resources. Abstract The Research on Adverse Drug Events and Reports project (RADAR) is one of only a few independent pharmacovigilance programs funded entirely by peer-reviewed grants. It is the only such program that focuses on serious adverse drug reactions (sADRs) related to hematology and oncology. RADAR leverages the resources of a comprehensive cancer center, an academic hematology/oncology program, and a global network of physicians. Since its inception in 1998, RADAR has identified 33 unique sADRs. Information about these sADRs are traditionally disseminated in peer-reviewed manuscripts (21 sADRs

Because of its differences from traditional manufacturing technologies, small businesses, in particular, face high costs in adopting AM methods. How can governments assist small firms and their innovation ecosystems to make significant leaps in enabling technologies?
