Abstract:
This work deals with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as an application of the “win-win-win papakonstantinidis model”-the social wellbeing, bargaining (A-B-Community) Model which leads in a more justice more equality, more faith in the state and law. Starting from Ramzi Souleiman (2013) findings, on the “economic-harmony” equilibrium, this study goes one step more, in a synthesis between market(NE) and ethical economics(Economic Harmony equilibrium), so called the “equi-harmony” –the end of the sensitization process The suggested model’s theoretical background is analyzed as the main “interaction’s methodological tool” focusing on Utility Function

Abstract:

Abstract:
The article is dealing with two interconnected problems based on the conjectures: a) social welfare is a condition for rural development and not the prerequisite for it; b) shape a new landscape (the “win-win-win”) based on critique of the “Impossibility Theorem (Kenneth Arrow 1951) through the Nash Bargaining Solution (Nash, John 1950). Specifically, this article discusses and analyses social welfare and rural development objectives integrating elements from the impossibility theorem, the bargaining theory, and the theory of agency by (a) reviewing the literature on coordination “social welfare” and “rural development” (b) reversing the focus from “voting” to “bargaining” and (c) underlining that Social choice is the perquisite of social welfare, using the “win-win-win Papakonstantinidis model’s solution as the bridge between “voting”(Arrow) and “bargaining”(proposal). This solution highlights the Role of Rural Community as an “Aggregation” corresponding to its “sensitization process”.

This article is to provide a theoretical analysis of the problem faced by the central government, i.e., a want of some regions to choose the wider autonomy or independence. In the utilitarian approach, the concepts of choosing between autonomy and independence, or centralized are described as a trade off. Then the territory/the point of harmony between the central and regions will occur if only the central - the regions are combined making a synergy, and both are better off, compared with the separation between them. For an empirical analysis, this model describes a process of the bargaining between the central and the regions (bargain behavior model) that each of the party is to improve utility.

Dear Reader, Nobel Laureate Prof. Amartya Sen cites a story of three children, Anne, Bob and Carla. Prof. Sen quotes Aristotle and Bentham too while narrating the story, I heard from Prof (Dr.) James Nedumpara at his recent live lecture at Jindal Global Law School. This story fascinated me and it goes like this. Clara worked hard to successfully build a flute. Anne knows to play the flute, but Clara does not know to play the flute. Bob, the third child, does NOT have any toys to play with, so he wants the flute. All the children are claimants to the flute. Prof. Sen and many legal luminaries quote many legal theories such as Libertarianism, Utilitarianism, Egalitarian and also try to distinguish between “Niti and Nyaya” to resolve this problem, as to who merits (deserts and deserve) to keep the flute.

Abstract:
This paper reviews the availability and suitability of nonwood fibers for papermaking in Bangladesh and analyzes the economic, developmental and environmental implications of using jute for this purpose. It summarizes the literature on the availability and suitability of nonwood fibers for papermaking and then analyzes the economic viability of this process in Bangladesh by comparing the costs of jute pulp with those of imported paper pulp. It then summarizes broader economic and environmental aspects of using jute for papermaking in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is facing an acute shortage of fibrous raw materials for the production of pulp and paper while the demand for paper and paper products is increasing day by day. On the other hand, Bangladesh has a huge amount of unused jute fiber, which is highly suitable for papermaking in the country. It also finds that jute is economically viable for papermaking in Bangladesh and would contribute to Bangladesh’s urgently needed economic diversification. It finally shows that there are no intrinsically negative implications on the environment from using jute for papermaking in Bangladesh. In short, using jute for papermaking constitutes a win-win solution for the country.

Abstract:
Authors intention was to examine the possibility to investigate win-win-win papakonstantinidis model in order to develop an integrated bargaining solution analysis for vertical cooperative sales promotion campaigns. Based on previous theoretical extensions (Spais and Papakonstantinidis, 2011; Spais, Papakonstantinidis and Papakonstantinidis, 2009), this study presented an integrated bargaining solution analysis for cases of optimal allocation of a promotion budget in a cooperative sales promotion campaign in vertical marketing channels. This integrated bargaining solution analysis included: a) three (3) adjusted utility functions, considering the parameters of sales response budgeting method, the break-even sales analysis and the marketing channel members trade promotion goals; b) the referee solution, the optimal solution for the three players and the constraints; c) the definition of the third win in terms of a continuous sensitization process and perfect information; and d) the presentation of the potential outputs from a bargaining process regarding to the sharing of the cooperative sales promotion cost among A, B and C parties/players for different sales promotion offerings. Encouragingly, the review of the modern literature and the four (4) critical case studies of cooperative marketing programs confirmed the need for a win-win-win approach in cooperative sales promotion planning in vertical marketing channels.

Abstract:
Although clustering methods have shown promising performance in various applications, they cannot effectively handle incomplete data. Existing studies often impute missing values first before clustering analysis and conduct these two processes separately. However, inaccurate imputation does not necessarily contribute positively to the subsequent clustering. Intuitively, accurate imputation and clustering can serve and benefit from each other, where clustering-based imputation methods typically utilize cluster signals to impute incomplete data and accurate fillings are expected to bring more valuable data for clustering. Therefore, in this manuscript, rather than considering two tasks independently or conducting them respectively, we study simultaneous clustering and imputing over incomplete data. The immediate benefit is that such a strategy improves both clustering and imputation performance simultaneously, to get a win-win result. Our major technical highlights include (1) the problem formalization and NP-hardness analysis on computing simultaneous clustering and imputing results, (2) exact solutions by transforming the problem as the integer linear programming (ILP) formulation, and (3) efficient approximation algorithms based on the linear programming (LP) relaxation and local neighbors (LN) solution, with approximation guarantees. Experiments on various real-world datasets demonstrate the superiority of our work in clustering and imputing incomplete data.

Abstract:
AbstractHumans have mapped less than 5% of the ocean floor and studied less than 1% of the marine environment. Historically, the primary reason for so few exploration initiatives is a lack of adequate financing. This global lack of funding is in turn driven by a number of other potential factors that affect the three general groups involved in these types of activities: namely, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and for-profit companies. Since none of the three groups can achieve significant advances in ocean exploration on their own, the clear solution is collaboration, both within each group and also among the three groups. Even as ocean exploration projects move slowly toward a more collaborative approach, the question remains of how to best finance the efforts, and a new innovative source of capital may be justified. Looking at other fields and industries, we can leverage two emerging global trends and combine them into a unique financing model: high-end travel enthusiasts seeking “experience” trips who are also interested in “citizen science” expeditions. This commentary reviews three case studies on the potential viability of using this model as a strategy to finance ocean exploration.

Abstract:
In this study, we investigate the impact of Social Bargain on Welfare Problem adopting the win-win-win Papakonstantinidis model inserting the Overall Arbitrator Player into the local development game. This deals with (a) the failure of Public Choice in the production of social welfare, (b) the Bargaining Process as a proposal for generating social capital in the field of Welfare Economics. The purpose of this research is to indicate that Public Choice fails to lead to Economic Development. Instead, this can be achieved by implementing Social Bargaining Process into the game of social welfare. In particular, the gap between development and underdevelopment (regional problem) in the community is being investigated, while it is identified as being real and unresolved in the literature of Social Choice Theory and Regional Science. This gap can be corrected – cured through Social Bargaining Process as a solution to the Welfare Problem. The above is being interpreted as follows: the agents of the game or voters of the community can make such collective decisions that eliminate regional disparities by choosing strategies or politicians that will make the appropriate assessments/choices for the community. The key questions are: a) why Public Choice fails to solve the problem of regional disparities and to lead to social welfare, (b) what makes the Social Bargaining Process the appropriate solution to the social welfare problem (or regional problem) and above it should be dealt with. As a methodology is being proposed the Mediation Theory model among two other processes: (1) The “Principal-Agent” process, considering Principal’s position as strong, and (2) the Leadership of a community and a single Member of the same community (“Leader-Member Exchange” – LMX), considering the Leader’s position as strong. The research findings proposed the creation of a social player in the bargaining process, where introduces the generation of social capital, that leads to social welfare to which Public Choice fails to lead and this point is also the originality of the paper.

Abstract:
This paper builds an automated negotiation process model for integrative negotiations. The process model defines and automates the necessary phases and activities along with the integrative negotiation approach principles to create win-win outcomes that mutually satisfy negotiating parties. However, to realize this objective, the negotiation literature and theories are reviewed to determine the relevant theories for integrative negotiations that help to develop and form the basis of the process model. After investigation, it became evident that three main theories, which are Decision Theory, Rational Choice Theory and Mutual Gains Theory, contribute to building the integrative process model by setting its phases and components. The model is composed of five main phases with several sub-phases. Decision theory with mutual gains theory provides the robust process model through several phases, and rational choice theory with mutual gains theory ensures they are implemented in a fair, objective manner to come up with a satisfying win-win solution. Hence, automated negotiation processes when designed in a robust manner that is based on the theory that serves integrative approaches could lead to win-win negotiation outcomes. The foundation of the win-win negotiation process model contributes to designing win-win negotiation outcomes through structuring automated negotiation and setting its phases along with the integrative negotiation principles. It develops the negotiation field by integrating automation and the integrative approach principles in a process model.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The tendency of people to choose outside of the court to solve their disputes should basically be viewed as a legal phenomenon in people lives. Settlement of disputes outside the court has put parties in a position to win-win (win-win solution), different from the way of dispute settlement through the courts that put a party on the win position and the other on the lose position (win-lose solution). Legal dispute settlement through the courts rather than solve the problems it has created more problems between the disputants.

Abstract:
This research discusses the effectiveness of mediation in settling inheritance disputes outside of the court. The objectives of this study are, firstly, to determine the effectiveness of mediation in resolving inheritance disputes outside of court; secondly, to assess whether conducting mediation outside of court is a viable solution in settling inheritance disputes; thirdly, to identify the factors that contribute to the success of mediation in resolving inheritance disputes outside of court. The research method employed in this discussion is library research, supplemented with analytical descriptive data analysis. Based on the research findings, mediation has proven its effectiveness in settling inheritance disputes outside of court. By expediting the resolution process, reducing costs, and enhancing the satisfaction of the involved parties, mediation presents an attractive alternative worthy of consideration as a solution in settling inheritance disputes through non-litigious means. Another evidence demonstrating the effectiveness of mediation conducted outside of court is its greater impact in maintaining positive relationships, as the outcome is not a win-lose decision, but rather a win-win situation where both parties equally win and willingly accept the agreed-upon settlement, in line with the principles of win-win solutions.

Abstract:
International agreements, like the Paris Agreement, obligate developed countries to financially support developing countries (DCs) in mitigating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and adapting to climate change. However, these investments have fallen short, mainly to sustainable agricultural projects, requiring a smart solution. Countries with vast agricultural production and forest reserves, like Brazil and Indonesia, are major contributors to GHG emissions through deforestation. The objective of this study is to assess the role of climate finance in assisting DCs in mitigating GHG emissions and adapting to climate change, particularly in the agricultural sector. The methodology adopted includes a policy-oriented approach, proposing the establishment of the Sustain (Sustainable Financing in Specific Territories for Reforestation, Recovering and Nature) mechanism. We recommend strengthening the management of climate finance to ensure that DCs achieve ambitious goals for reducing GHG and adapting to climate change with a mechanism Sustain. As a first step, the Group of Twenty (G20) should establish the Sustain as a financing modality within the climate fund aimed at addressing issues related to agriculture and land use change. Sustain will serve as an international platform to attract foreign investment for ecosystem preservation and food supply in DCs. Key recommendations for project selection include: prioritizing DCs involved in international trade and committed to sustainable production; supporting projects that promote low-carbon agricultural practices; developing standardized monitoring and reporting procedures for GHG emissions reductions; encouraging the adoption of international agricultural sustainability standards; and ensuring social inclusion and gender equity in the project benefits. The G20 should co-finance these projects by combining its resources with other investments.

Abstract:
Recently, there has been an increasing effort to promote energy efficiency, using renewable energies and electric mobility to achieve a more sustainable future and even carbon neutrality by 2050. This paper aims to understand if combining these technologies leads to a win–win solution. For that, the system’s characteristics that will be used for the simulation were defined as a residential community consumption scenario with and without electric vehicles charging overnight. The simulation was completed in software, and eight scenarios were tested: high population density/low population density with/without electric mobility and hourly tariff/simple tariff. After these scenarios had been tested, the conclusion was that the low population density and hourly tariff without and with electric mobility were the best two cases economically (in terms of levelized cost of energy, net present costs, and savings) and environmentally, and the worst was high population density with hourly tariff and electric mobility. Other scenarios were then tested, including changes in the load curve, namely a commercial load curve, and changes in the load curve of electric vehicle chargers, mainly daytime charging. The conclusion was that even though the initial hypothesis did not lead to a win–win solution, with changes in the hypothesis, the integration of electric mobility in energy communities might lead to that.

Abstract:
AbstractThe current developments, there are many land disputes that are vertical or horizontal. Issues concerning land affairs are often caused by salim claims over land rights. The intended land dispute is a civil dispute concerning the land. Achieving a win-win solution in the settlement of civil disputes over land is relatively difficult to materialize, if the settlement is resolved through a trial (litigation). The choice of law that can be chosen to obtain and realize a win-win solution in solving civil disputes over land is of course through alternative dispute resolution. By way of negotiation, mediation and conciliation. In the course of the settlement of civil disputes over land settled through alternative dispute resolution, the settlement can not ignore the applicable legal principles of the treaty. Keywords: Land civil disputes, alternative dispute resolution and principles of contract. Abstract:
Banking is one of the sources of funds, including in the form of credit for the community. Banks in providing credit will be very careful and will go through a more in-depth analysis. However, in providing credit, often the credit given to the debtor cannot be returned on time. This condition is called bad credit. The purpose of this study is to determine what factors cause bad credit in the banking sector and how to solve it in non-litigation ways. The method used in this research is the juridical-normative method, in which the research is carried out by means of literature study of law books, statutory regulations, literature and other references. The results of this study indicate that the factors causing the occurrence of bad credit in the banking sector include failure to accept the debtor's business, bad faith from the debtor, the discovery of credit loans without the knowledge of the family which can lead to a lack of responsibility, credit abuse by debtors and the presence of debtors. debtors who work as laborers, farmers, fishermen so that their finances cannot be guaranteed at all times, but only at certain times. As for the way to settle bad credit through non-litigation channels, namely by negotiation which can be done in three ways including rescheduling, reconditioning, and restructuring.

Abstract:
AbstractThe Porter hypothesis and the pollution haven hypothesis seem to predict opposite reactions by firms facing environmental regulation, as the first invokes the arising of a win–win solution while the second envisages the possibility for firms to flee abroad. We illustrate the possibility of designing policies (taking the form of either emission taxation or environmental standards) able to eliminate firms’ incentives to relocate their plants abroad and create a parallel incentive for them to deliver a win–win solution by investing either in replacement technologies under emission taxation, or in abatement technologies under an environmental standard. This is worked out in a Cournot supergame in which firms may activate the highest level of collusion compatible with their intertemporal preferences.

Abstract:
Although withholding the names of homicide victims from the public is a relatively new police practice, it has proven to be controversial, with the media, legal scholars, and victim advocacy groups often opposing these policies. In order to better understand the issue of withholding names, we examined the prevalence of these practices in Canada’s largest municipal police services. These results were further explored in a series of semi-structured interviews with stakeholders from 20 victim services and advocacy organizations. Analysis of the interview and survey results reveal that the key priority of the police is maintaining the integrity of their investigations, and all other issues are secondary. Although the issue of withholding information has become contentious, many of the arguments become moot, as the friends and family members of these victims often post the information related to these deaths on social media, effectively bypassing both the press and the police. Implications for policy development are discussed in light of these findings.

Abstract:
Abstract The public health implications of Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias (ADRDs) are significant and have placed considerable pressure on the U.S. healthcare system. Training and mobilizing a critical mass of volunteers to address unmet dementia care needs may be a potent, scalable, and cost efficient approach to address gaps in dementia care and to support family caregivers. Further, by engaging older volunteers to do this work and remain in productive and impactful post-retirement roles, additive population health benefits may be possible. This session will focus on ways we might harness the power of senior volunteers to meet the public health challenges associated with ADRD. Presentations will draw from three innovative community-based projects that utilize senior volunteers to support and enhance health in aging and dementia care. Dr. Carlson will provide an update on the evaluation and scaling Experience Corps, an intergenerational program that engages senior volunteers to work in elementary schools. Dr. Gaugler will discuss the Porchlight Project, a new multicomponent training approach for senior volunteers in Minnesota to enhance dementia care capabilities and support to underserved older persons. Dr. Samus will introduce the MEMORI Corps program, a novel activity-based companion care program for home-residing persons with ADRD delivered by trained senior volunteers. Given the current and impending shortages in the geriatric work force and family caregivers, respectively, innovative and readily available long term service and support options are needed to offset potential care gaps. The current session proposes the novel incorporation of volunteers as one solution to do so.

Abstract:
Cooperation to access wireless networks is a key approach towards optimizing the use of finite radio spectrum resources in overcrowded unlicensed bands and to help satisfy the expectations of wireless users in terms of high data rates and low latency. Although solutions that advocate this approach have been widely proposed in the literature, they still do not consider a number of aspects that can improve the performance of the users’ connections, such as the inclusion of (1) cooperation among network operators and (2) users’ quality requirements based on their applications. To fill this gap, in this paper we propose a centralized framework that is aimed at providing a “win-win” cooperation among Wi-Fi and cellular networks, which takes into account 5G technologies and users’ requirements in terms of Quality of Service (QoS). Moreover, the framework is supported by smart Radio Access Technology (RAT) selection mechanisms that orchestrate the connection of the clients to the networks. In particular, we discuss details on the design of the proposed framework, the motivation behind its implementation, the main novelties, its feasibility, and the main components. In order to demonstrate the benefits of our solution, we illustrate efficiency results achieved through the simulation of a smart RAT selection algorithm in a realistic scenario, which mimics the proposed “win-win” cooperation between Wi-Fi and cellular 5G networks, and we also discuss potential benefits for wireless and mobile network operators.
