Wineinformatics is among the new fields in data science that use wine as domain knowledge. The goal of this research is to explore the development and application of the computational wine wheel to reviews from a different reviewer, Robert Parker. This study aims to determine the determinants of prices in top-quality wine market. The authors also seek to estimate the role for country of origin, grape, producing region and winery in prices. And, finally, the authors try to show how countries, regions and wineries can help increase their position in international rankings. Design/methodology/approach The authors tr

Klątwapremiered in Teatr Powszechny in Warsaw on 18 February 2017 and created the biggest theatre scandal in the early theatre history in Poland as both the right-wing government and the right-wing movement in Poland regarded it as blasphemous and – unsuccessfully – tried to prevent further performances. In KlątwaOliver Frljić questions the understanding of historiography promoted by the Polish government that prefers to focus only on stories abou

The interactive paper, or pop-up, book engages the reader in physical interaction, allowing them to construct their reading experience. Over the past thirty years, it has gained popularity not only among children, their parents, and teachers, but also among museum curators and collectors. This reflects a broader trend of returning to tangible, physical experiences both in everyday life and in art. In the contemporary intermedial environment, artists turn to mass-produced interactive books in search of new formats for engaging with a wide audience. However, art theory does not consider this for

Abstract At the turn of the 20th century, exotic shows as a form of displaying otherness gained wide popularity among various kinds of mass entertainment in Europe and the United States. Promoted professionally, the shows attracted public interest, combining the acquisition of knowledge with leisure. The freaks and people of non-European descent exhibited in different public spaces – zoos, parks, circus – not only demonstrated ‘nature’s errors’ and the diversity of human beings, but also the development of the human body and society within the framework of racial and evolutionary theories. This paper focuses on language politics as it is currently unfolding in Brazil. Thanks to a legislative bid by a member of the House of Representatives to curb the wide-spread use of English in the country, large segments of the country's population have suddenly become interested in language-related issues. Professional linguists were taken by surprise and have, by and large, been reduced to the status of mere spectators. In an attempt to address the issue, I argue that there is an urgent need to attend to the wider public and engage them in a fruitful dialogue.

Platinum-group free Fe-N-C catalysts have been shown to be a promising class of electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in acidic media. However, typical synthesis methods can result in a variety of FeN4 sites embedded in graphene, including bulk-hosted and edge-hosted FeN4. The planar structure of the FeN4 active site allows two additional ligands to adsorb to Fe on either side of the graphene, which can be present from ORR reaction intermediates and other solution phase species. Here, we studied the impact of axially adsorbed ligands on bulk-hosted and edge-hosted FeN4 sites

One of the final scenes of Farinelli, Il Castrato, dir. Restless spectators squint through pieces of tinted glass prepared in the smoke of a small fire. It is a precious visual detail, a jot of history in this sumptuously though often inaccurately detailed film that offsets the melodrama to follow. Eduardo Chillida’s The Comb of the Wind XV, embedded in natural rocks rising from the Cantabrian Ocean in 1977, expresses the artistic potential of air as a material, a metaphor, and as an art-maker. With this sculpture, Chillida opened up the possibility for air itself to show indefinite imageries. Although much has been written about this sculptural group from different perspectives, no study has been systematically undertaken to analyze it regarding the theme of the matter of air, which should be considered the core of the work of art.
