Abstract:
This work describes the implementation of an RF based wireless charging system using RF transmitting and receiving modules. The objective of this work is to implement a system that has the ability to interact and communicate wirelessly within short range. This mobile wireless charging switching system consists of two sections, the transmitting and the receiving section. Each section was interfaced to 433MHz transmitting and receiving modules. The transmitter section of the wireless mobile charging system sends bursts of 433MHz signal through push button switch which is used in the initiation of the charging process to the receiver; when this signal is received by the receiver, it activates a relay which in turn switches on the internal power that comprises the backup battery, DC-to DC converter via a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port to the mobile device to begin charging. This work was able to achieve a wireless transfer of power for distance of about one metre between the transmitter and the receiver. Keywords: wireless charging, radio frequency radiation, electromagnetic induction, inductive coupling, microcontroller,

In robotic science, the wireless system unit is the main part of the mobile robot. Whereas, only wireless communication module responsible for transmitting commands from the transmitter (e.g. mobile or PC) to the receiver (i.e. robot brain) and vice versa. With the increase in population growth and the construction of the urban, fires have become widely spread. It is worth mentioning here that the lives of firefighters are in permanent danger where they may be exposed to the combustion or inhalation of toxic gasses associated with the combustion process. Therefore, become necessary to find effective ways to reduce these risks. In this paper, a rover tank robot is implemented for fire extinguishing in closed areas based on the Arduino microcontroller, flame sensor, and motion sensor. The robot has a small water pump installed on a servo motor to pump water, the first flame sensor placed on the right of the robot's front and the second to the left of the robot's front. When a fire is explored through a flame sensor, the water pump sprays water to the location of the fire. The robot is driven wirelessly utilising the Bluetooth HC-06 module and the Wi-Fi camera utilised for driving purposes. Besides, a passive infrared (PIR) sensor is used to detect the presence of any living organism inside the fire site to alert the robot driver that an organism requires a rescue.</span>

Abstract. In this paper, a fourth-order Kalman filter (KF) algorithm is implemented in the wireless sensor node to estimate the temperatures of the stator winding, the rotor cage and the stator core in the induction machine. Three separate wireless sensor nodes are used as the data acquisition systems for different input signals. Six Hall sensors are used to acquire the three-phase stator currents and voltages of the induction machine. All of them are processed to root mean square (rms) in ampere and volt. A rotary encoder is mounted for the rotor speed and Pt-1000 is used for the temperature of the coolant air. The processed signals in the physical unit are transmitted wirelessly to the host wireless sensor node, where the KF is implemented with fixed-point arithmetic in Contiki OS. Time-division multiple access (TDMA) is used to make the wireless transmission more stable. Compared to the floating-point implementation, the fixed-point implementation has the same estimation accuracy at only about one-fifth of the computation time. The temperature estimation system can work under any work condition as long as there are currents through the machine. It can also be rebooted for estimation even when wireless transmission has collapsed or packages are missing.

Abstract:
Thermographic inspection is a very safe and non-invasive monitoring technique, widely used in electrical substations and other power plants. A thermal image can be obtained to help in identifying abnormal heating regions in power equipment. Under high voltage circumstances, it is a hazard for personals to capture the image at a close distance from the power equipment. This paper described the development of a remote control monitoring system for a thermal camera. XBEE is a new and popular protocol for wireless communication because of its low power assumption, large network capability and the ability to organize a network automatically. 10 samples data are collected within the 30m and the successful transfer rate reached 98.89%. Remote control of thermal camera helps human keep distance from the high electric field and at the same time convenient for a user to conduct online condition monitoring in order to prevent any accident in power station.

Abstract:
The increase of two-wheeled vehicles in Indonesia can be identified as a primary need for the community, which is directly proportional to the number of population of vehicles in Indonesia which has increased every year, and the crime rate in two-wheeled vehicles has increased from year to year. This phenomenon involves many parties creating and developing various types of technology and systems to reduce the impact of crime on two-wheeled vehicles. In designing and developing this system, the researchers integrates several modules including Arduino Mega 2560, Arduino Uno, RFID implants, and Wireless Xbee which perform wireless communication tool between the two microcontrollers. The modules are integrated into a digital module to replace the conventional system for turning on and off the motorcycle’s engine. By using the prototyping process model the development of this system can be enhance or developed more in future to improve the security system on motorcycle vehicles.

Abstract:
IEEE 802.15.4 is an important standard for Low Rate Wireless Personal Area Network (LRWPAN). The IEEE 802.15.4 presents a flexible MAC protocol that provides good efficiency for data transmission by adapting its parameters according to characteristics of different applications. In this research work, some restrictions of this standard are explained and an improvement of traffic efficiency by optimizing MAC layer is proposed. Implementation details for several blocks of communication system are carefully modeled. The protocol implementation is done using VHDL language. The analysis gives a full understanding of the behavior of the MAC protocol with regard to backoff delay, data loss probability, congestion probability, slot effectiveness, and traffic distribution for terminals. Two ideas are proposed and tested to improve efficiency of CSMA/CA mechanism for IEEE 802.15.4 MAC Layer. Primarily, we dynamically adjust the backoff exponent (BE) according to queue level of each node. Secondly, we vary the number of consecutive clear channel assessment (CCA) for packet transmission. We demonstrate also that slot compensation provided by the enhanced MAC protocol can greatly avoid unused slots. The results show the significant improvements expected by our approach among the IEEE 802.15.4 MAC standards. Synthesis results show also hardware performances of our proposed architecture.
