This research aims to assess the household and individual-level factors, specifically education, that affect the probability of women being engaged in decent work activities in the labor market. The study utilized the most recent labor force survey data from Pakistan with a sample size of 64,009 women. The research exploits the multinomial logit model (MNL) for data analysis. Several studies exist on the causes of female labor force participation nationally—in Pakistan—and internationally. However, there is a lack of research exploring the link between women’s access to decent work and various

In her stimulating book The Animal Estate, Harriet Ritvo notes the frequent interchange of terms for describing domestic servants and domestic animals in nineteenth-century discourse, and she emphasizes the especially distinguished role played by horses in the establishment of this rhetoric (18–19). Abstract Existing coal mining health literature has not adequately addressed the health of women and girls who reside (and perform reproductive labor) within the households of male coal miners exposed to coal dust and other coal toxins. This study compares archival data on the health at the time of death for coal miners’ wives and non-coal miners’ wives to determine if there are statistical differences between these groups of women. Findings indicate that there is a statistical difference between these groups of women in age at death, with wives of miners dying 7 years earlier, on average. It

The logistics sector is considered non-traditional for women as the industry employs mostly men as the required tasks are considered masculine. Logistics operation runs 24/7, which leads to long working hours and overlaps with women’s household responsibilities. The situation is linked to turnover intention among women in this industry. Numerous studies have acknowledged women to be as good as men. Therefore, turnover among women in this industry is a significant loss for the industry as gender imbalance remains a major issue. Some of these challenges arise from misunderstandings, unwarranted preconceptions, conscious and unconscious biases, but sometimes from an insensitive blending of racist and misogynist attitudes.
