Feminist geographic analysis has demonstrated that violence inflicted on women is embodied, experienced and personal and at the same time, linked to global socio-political and economic processes and patriarchal norms. Methods: DFC was measured using the Modified Index of Parenthood Motivation (MIPM), a 14-item self-reporting tool, and the Motives Toward Parenthood Scale (MTPS), a 30-item tool with four subscales.

Abstract:
Background: Cervical cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers in Honduran women. Lacking national or population-based registries, we rely on hospital registries to establish incidence: San Felipe General Hospital in 2012 diagnosed 38% of 998 women and The League against Cancer Hospital (LCC) in 2016 diagnosed 54.4% of 695 women with cervical cancer CC. According to PAHO's Honduras Profile 2013, screening coverage with Pap was 48.1%. Bruni in 2010 reported a prevalence of high risk HPV (hrHPV) infection for Central America of 13%, identifying genotypes 16, 18, 52, 31 and 58 as most frequent.

Abstract:
For approximately the last two-and-a-half decades it has been a stated goal of both Honduran and U.S. policy to improve the welfare of the Honduran people, both directly through the provision of services and indirectly through the promotion of economic development. The need is great; Honduras has the lowest per capita GNP in Central America ($660 in 1984) and the highest population growth rate (3.4%). It also has the second highest percentage of its population living in rural areas (61%). Consequently, rural development has been a primary concern of development programs.

Purpose In Honduras, the breast cancer burden is high, and access to women’s health services is low. This project tested the connection of community-based breast cancer detection with clinical diagnosis and treatment in a tightly linked and quickly facilitated format. Methods The Norris Cotton Cancer Center at Dartmouth College partnered with the Honduran cancer hospital La Liga Contra el Cancer to expand a cervical cancer screening program, which included self-breast exam (SBE) education and clinical breast exams (CBEs), to assess patient attitudes about and uptake of breast cancer education

Abstract:
This paper discusses the tension between ethics in theory and ethics in practice, along the continuum of overt and covert field research. I argue that complete overt research is not only unfeasible, but can even be dangerous or harmful to the people we research and the researcher. Within this discussion it can be stated that the formal standardized requirements of the ethics committees actually undermine our ability to act ethically. For this reason, I argue that there is a need to focus on a virtues based approach and reflective stance regarding ethics in the field. I use the case of Honduras

Abstract:
SummaryA significant increase occurred in the initiation and duration of breast-feeding among Honduran women between 1981 and 1987. Changes in population characteristics (e.g. level of education of women) would be expected to lead to a decrease in breast-feeding at each infant age, but these were offset by behavioural changes that led to an increase in the likelihood of initiation and continuation of breast-feeding. An exploration of relevant factors suggests that the PROALMA breast-feeding promotion programme has had a profound effect on the breast-feeding behaviour of Honduran mothers.

Honduras is a country that has a coastal zone with many marine resources, however, the lack of mechanisms for integrated coastal management (icm) programs have slowed down the conservation and development of the resources found there, the object of this study was to carry out an analysis and collect information about the different policies and instruments that provide the basis for formulating integrated coastal management in Honduras. Keywords: Integrated coastal management (icm), coastal policies, coastal conservation, development of the coastal zone.

As energy demand rises and fossil fuel reserves become scarcer, energy planning grows to be necessary to every country including Honduras. The mapping of electricity consumption in Honduras through data visualization tools as Tableau, proposed in this paper, is a significant step toward the goal of creating instruments that increase energy planning. This instrument provides relevant information of the electricity demand behaviour: it was discovered that only 18 municipalities from the total of 259 municipalities studied consumed 80% of the electrical resource. It was also found the close-fitti

During the last two decades, military rulers have been replaced by democratically elected civilian governments throughout Latin America. Nevertheless, scholars (Mainwaring et al., 1992:3,8) contend that nearly all contemporary Latin American polities remain unconsolidated democratic regimes principally because civilian control over the armed forces has not yet been established. Although the armed forces have returned to their barracks, they have retained considerable political and institutional autonomy. A number of scholars (Loveman, 1994; Agüero, 1992; and others) emphasize that most Latin A
