Abstract:
Word processing has become increasingly important in today's world of information technology. The capabilities of new word processing packages have far reaching impact on information processing. Can accounting educators who are concerned over accounting packages afford to overlook the importance of basic word processing? What is the relevance of word processing to accounting students? This article will explore the far-reaching possibilities of word processing in accounting education in the context of its demand in the accounting world. It will also attempt to determine the overall value of word processing in communication for accounting professionals. A survey was also conducted on 103 first-year accountancy students from the Nanyang Technological University to determine their awareness of word processing. This information should help provide accounting educators with information on the entry behavior of accounting students. It was found that the students are not only aware of word processing but are enthusiastic about the editing features. It is encouraging to know that students have a positive attitude toward word processing. This is important especially in the Singapore context where high tech information processing is gaining importance. What remains to be discussed is how best educators can maximize accounting students' learning of word processing to meet the demands of the year 2020 and beyond.

Abstract:
A brief review of the UK agricultural industry and the organisations which support it is given. The increasing use of computers, large and small, to assist in all aspects of scientific and technical information (STI) and library work in organiza tions of all kinds and sizes is discussed, with examples. The move beyond on-line bibliographic literature searches to those involving specialist factual databanks and the link with word processing to provide indexes to in-house reports is included. The differing needs of small and large organizations, and those with several office locations are considered. The problem of software packages' (lack of) robustness and comprehensiveness together with their specificity which prevents easy data transfer between computers or over networks is highlighted. The possi bilities of videotex as a bridging device for end-users to bypass computing type problems' are discussed, along with the need to keep data secure from unauthorised users. It is argued that the opportunity for total integration of information services in an organization, beyond traditional STI and library areas, with the help of computers, should now be taken.

Abstract:
Context. Nowadays, information technologies are widely used in digital image processing. The task of joint processing of satellite image obtained by different space systems that have different spatial differences is important. The already known pansharpening methods to improve the quality of the resulting image, there are new scientific problems associated with increasing the requirements for high-resolution image processing and the development of automated technology for processing the satellite data for further thematic analysis. Most spatial resolution techniques result in artifacts. Our work explores the major remote sensing data fusion techniques at pixel level and reviews the concept, principals, limitations and advantages for each technique with the program implementation of research. Objective. The goal of the work is analyze the effectiveness of the traditional pan-sharpening methods like the Brovey, the wavelet-transform, the GIHS, the HCT and the combined pansharpening method for satellite images of high-spatial resolution. Method. In this paper we propose the information technology for pansharpening high spatial resolution images with automation of choosing the best method based on the analysis of quantitative and qualitative evolutions. The method involves the scaling multispectral image to the size of the panchromatic image; using histogram equalization to adjust the primary images by aligning the integral areas of the sections with different brightness; conversion of primary images after the spectral correction on traditional pansharpening methods; analyze the effectiveness of the results obtained for conducts their detailed comparative visual and quantitative evaluation. The technology allows determining the best method of pansharpening by analyzing quantitative metrics: the NDVI index, the RMSE and the ERGAS. The NDVI index for the methods Brovey and HPF indicate color distortion in comparison with the reference data. This is due to the fact that the Brovey and HPF methods are based on the fusion of three channel images and do not include the information contained in the near infrared range. The RMSE and the ERGAS show the superiority of the combined HSVHCT-Wavelet method over the conventional and state-of-art image resolution enhancement techniques of high resolution satellite images. This is achieved, in particular, by preliminary processing of primary images, data processing localized spectral bases, optimized performance information, and the information contained in the infrared image. Results. The software implementing proposed method is developed. The experiments to study the properties of the proposed algorithm are conducted. Experimental evaluation performed on eight-primary satellite images of high spatial resolution obtained WorldView-2 satellite. The experimental results show that a synthesized high spatial resolution image with high information content is achieved with the complex use of fusion methods, which makes it possible to increase the spatial resolution of the original multichannel image without color distortions. Conclusions. The experiments confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed automated information technology for pansharpening high-resolution satellite images with the development of a graphical interface to obtain a new synthesized image. In addition, the proposed technology will effectively carry out further recognition and real-time monitoring infrastructure.

Abstract:
Many life activities and key functions in organisms are maintained by different types of protein–protein interactions (PPIs). In order to accelerate the discovery of PPIs for different species, many computational methods have been developed. Unfortunately, even though computational methods are constantly evolving, efficient methods for predicting PPIs from protein sequence information have not been found for many years due to limiting factors including both methodology and technology. Inspired by the similarity of biological sequences and languages, developing a biological language processing technology may provide a brand new theoretical perspective and feasible method for the study of biological sequences. In this paper, a pure biological language processing model is proposed for predicting protein–protein interactions only using a protein sequence. The model was constructed based on a feature representation method for biological sequences called bio-to-vector (Bio2Vec) and a convolution neural network (CNN). The Bio2Vec obtains protein sequence features by using a “bio-word” segmentation system and a word representation model used for learning the distributed representation for each “bio-word”. The Bio2Vec supplies a frame that allows researchers to consider the context information and implicit semantic information of a bio sequence. A remarkable improvement in PPIs prediction performance has been observed by using the proposed model compared with state-of-the-art methods. The presentation of this approach marks the start of “bio language processing technology,” which could cause a technological revolution and could be applied to improve the quality of predictions in other problems.

Abstract:
The Porter stemmer algorithm is a broadly used, however, an essential tool for natural language processing in the area of information access. Stemming is used to remove words that add the final morphological and diacritical endings of words in English words to their root form to extract the word root, i.e. called stem/root in the primary text processing stage. In other words, it is a linguistic process that simply extracts the main part that may be close to the relative and related root. Text classification is a major task in extracting relevant information from a large volume of data. In this paper, we suggest ways to improve a version of the Porter algorithm with the aim of processing and overcome its limitations and to save time and memory by reducing the size of the words. The system uses the improved Porter derivation technique for word pruning. Whereas performs cognitive-inspired computing to discover morphologically related words from the corpus without any human intervention or language-specific knowledge. The improved Porter algorithm is compared to the original stemmer. The improved Porter algorithm has better performance and enables more accurate information retrieval (IR).

The wireless sensor network is essentially a data-centric network that processes the continuous stream of data, which is collected by different sensors. Therefore, the existing data management technologies regard the wireless sensor network, which is named WSN as a distributed database, and it is composed of continuous data streams from the physical world. Wireless sensor networks are emerging next-generation sensor networks, but their transmission of information is highly dependent. The wireless sensor network processes the continuous stream of data collected by the sensor. Based on the features of wireless sensor networks, this paper presents a topology-dependent model of cluster evolution with fault tolerance. Through the limited data management, resources have reasonably configured, while also saving energy. The model is based on the energy-aware routing protocol in its network layer protocols. The key point is the energy routing principle. According to its own local view, the cluster head node builds the inter-cluster topology to achieve fault-tolerant and energy-saving goals. Simulation results show that the model has good fault tolerance and energy efficiency.

Abstract:
Optical storage of digital information has reached the consumer market in the form of the compact audio disk. In this technology, information is stored in the form of shallow pits embossed in a polymer surface. The surface is coated with a reflective thin metallic film, and the digital information, represented by the position and length of the pits, is read out optically with a focused, low-power (5 mW) laser beam. When used for information storage for a computer this device is called a CD-ROM, a Compact Digital-Read Only Memory. The user can only extract information (digital data) from the disk without changing or adding any data. That is, it is possible to “read” but not to “write” or “erase” information. While it is an advantage to have permanently stored information in some cases — for example when listening to Beethoven's Ninth Symphony—in other situations the read-only feature is not appropriate. For most computer applications, it is essential that the user be able to store information on the disk and read it back at will. For example, in a word processing task—such as typing this article — it is often necessary to store the document on a disk. Optical data storage for this purpose is available in the form of a Write Once Read Many times (WORM) optical disk drive. The operating principle in a WORM drive is to use a focused laser beam (20 – 40 mW) to make a permanent mark on a thin film on a disk. The information is then read out as a change in the optical properties of the disk, e.g., reflectivity or absorbance. These changes can take various forms: “hole burning” is the removal of material (typically a thin film of tellurium) by evaporation, melting or spalling — sometime s referred to as laser ablation; bubble or pit formation involves deformation of the surface, usually of a polymer overcoat on a metal reflector.

Abstract:
This article focuses on Word Sense Disambiguation (WSD), which is a Natural Language Processing task that is thought to be important for many Language Technology applications, such as Information Retrieval, Information Extraction, or Machine Translation. One of the main issues preventing the deployment of WSD technology is the lack of training examples for Machine Learning systems, also known as the Knowledge Acquisition Bottleneck. A method which has been shown to work for small samples of words is the automatic acquisition of examples. We have previously shown that one of the most promising example acquisition methods scales up and produces a freely available database of 150 million examples from Web snippets for all polysemous nouns in WordNet. This paper focuses on the issues that arise when using those examples, all alone or in addition to manually tagged examples, to train a supervised WSD system for all nouns. The extensive evaluation on both lexical-sample and all-words Senseval benchmarks shows that we are able to improve over commonly used baselines and to achieve top-rank performance. The good use of the prior distributions from the senses proved to be a crucial factor.

Abstract:
There are at least three areas in which technology can impact education: teaching, learning, and assessment. Teaching, when viewed as communication of information, has been transformed by the technology revolution. Word processing, multimedia, distance learning, and access to the World Wide Web are some prominent examples. The impact of technology on learning, defined as knowledge or skill acquired by instruction or study, has been less dramatic, in part because of our limited understanding of cognitive processes. Some forms of assessment, the collection of evidence of learning, have benefited from technology, such as item analysis of multiple-choice questions. To be effective, the focus on instruction must start with the learner and, from there, consider what should be done to enhance learning. An emphasis on what is technologically appropriate, rather than what is technologically possible, will improve the quality of both teaching and learning.

Abstract:
The present study aimed to investigate the employment of computer-aided translation (CAT) tools among Iranian freelance translators. Fulford and Granell-Zafra (2005) proposed a model encompassing both information and communications technology (ICT) and CAT tools to support a large number of activities, including document production, information search and retrieval, communications, business management, marketing and work procurement, and translation creation. CAT tools are employed to support document production, business management, and translation creation; and ICT tools are used to support the rest. A questionnaire was used for data collection from Iranian freelancers. As the results indicated, Iranian freelance translators were more interested to employ general-purpose software applications, such as word processing programs and presentation software, whereas they showed less interest in the employment of special-purpose software, such as accounting packages and database software. Moreover, most participants approved the effectiveness of CAT tools in their work.

Abstract:
This article shows the analysis of remote sensing methods for needs of glaciology and trends of modern research. Remote sensing not only accelerates the process of investigation of natural resources, but also provides fundamentally new information about the nature of the Earth, its components, phenomena and processes, which cannot be obtained by conventional methods. For most of glacial regions of the world scientists continue collecting information about the current condition of glaciers and changes that occur to them. However, often it is difficult to organize direct observation of some glaciers because of their apartness. Therefore, the main method of such research is using remote sensing data. Here is an instance of remote sensing data processing technology on an example of the glacier Columbia (Alaska, USA) ice cover using modern GIS-package ArcGIS. For our research we used four Landsat satellite images during different years (1975, 1986, 2001, 2015) obtained through Earth Explorer Service of United States Geological Survey (USGS). Images have been synthesizing in various combinations of channels to improve displaying the object and its visual perception. We were able to estimate changes of the ice cover of the area for 40 years. We used a method of automated classification for determining glacier borders, which is based on snow index NDSI using. The result of work is a map of Columbia glacier ice cover changes for forty years, which has allowed exploring the dynamics of glacier retreat and demonstrates its border changes. Today remote sensing completely allows solving crucial problems of understanding the evolution of natural processes, such as glaciology research. Long-term monitoring of glaciers is currently one of the few ways to track global climate changing on the planet.

Abstract:
Automatic summarization is a field of Natural Language Processing that is increasingly used in industry today. The goal of the summarization process is to create a summary of one document or a multiplicity of documents that will retain the sense and the most important aspects while reducing the length considerably, to a size that may be user-defined. One differentiates between extraction-based and abstraction-based summarization. In an extraction-based system, the words and sentences are copied out of the original source without any modification. An abstraction-based summary can compress, fuse or paraphrase sections of the source document. As of today, most summarization systems are extractive. Automatic document summarization technology presents interesting challenges for Natural Language Processing. It works on the basis of coreference resolution, discourse analysis, named entity recognition (NER), information extraction (IE), natural language understanding, topic segmentation and recognition, word segmentation and part-of-speech tagging. This study will overview some current approaches to the implementation of auto summarization technology and discuss the state of the art of the most important NLP tasks involved in them. We will pay particular attention to current methods of sentence extraction and compression for single and multi-document summarization, as these applications are based on theories of syntax and discourse and their implementation therefore requires a solid background in linguistics. Summarization technologies are also used for image collection summarization and video summarization, but the scope of this paper will be limited to document summarization.

Abstract:
Recently, more personalized travel methods have emerged in the tourism industry, such as individual travel and self-guided travel. The service models of traditional tourism limit the diversity of service options and cannot fully meet the individual needs of tourists anymore. The aim is to integrate sparse tourism information on the Internet, thereby providing more convenient, faster, and more personalized tourism services. Based on the shortcomings of the traditional tourism recommendation system, a deep learning-based classification processing method of tourism product information is proposed. This method uses word embedding in the data preprocessing stage. The Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is used to process review information of users and tourism service items. The Deep Neural Network (DNN) is used to process the necessary information of users and tourism service items. Also, factorization machine technology is used to learn the interaction between the extracted features to improve the prediction model. The results show that the proposed model can maintain an excellent precision of 64.2% when generating personalized recommendation lists for users. The sensitivity and accuracy of the recommendation list are better than other algorithms. By adding DNN, the word embedding method, and the factorization machine model, the precision is improved by 30%, 33.3%, and 40%, respectively. The model accuracy is the highest with 40 hidden factors, 100 convolutions, and a 100+50 combination hidden layer. Compared with traditional methods, the proposed algorithm can provide users with personalized travel products more accurately in personalized travel recommendations. The results have enriched and developed the theory of tourism service supply chain, providing a reference for constructing a personalized tourism service system.

Abstract:
Advances in information technology (IT) present important new organizational risks, and the assessment and management of these risks may involve a variety of groups, including internal auditors, external auditors, in-house IT experts, and outside consultants. To begin to understand how organizations are addressing their IT risks, this exploratory study examines the IT-related activities of one group—internal auditors. Information gathered from over 100 internal audit directors indicates that internal auditors focus primarily on traditional IT risks and controls, such as IT asset safeguarding, application processing, and data integrity, privacy, and security. Much less work is done on system development and acquisition issues. Several factors are associated with internal auditors' performance of IT evaluations, including the nature of the audit objective, the prevalence of computer audit specialists on the internal audit staff, and the existence of new computerized systems. To supplement these results, we encourage further research on the efforts of other groups in addressing IT risks.

Abstract:
In a changing digital world, organisations need to be effective information processing entities, in which people, processes, and technology together gather, process, and deliver the information that the organisation needs. However, like other information processing entities, organisations are subject to the limitations of information evolution. These limitations are caused by the combinatorial challenges associated with information processing, and by the trade-offs and shortcuts driven by selection pressures. This paper applies the principles of information evolution to organisations and uses them to derive principles about organisation design and organisation change. This analysis shows that information evolution can illuminate some of the seemingly intractable difficulties of organisations, including the effects of organisational silos and the difficulty of organisational change. The derived principles align with and connect different strands of current organisational thinking. In addition, they provide a framework for creating analytical tools to create more detailed organisational insights.

Abstract:
We show how the DOP model can be used for fast and robust context-sensitive processing of spoken input in a practical spoken dialogue system called OVIS. OVIS (Openbaar Vervoer Informatie Systeem) – ‘Public Transport Information System’, is a Dutch spoken language information system which operates over ordinary telephone lines. The prototype system is the immediate goal of the NWO Priority Programme ‘Language and Speech Technology’. In this paper, we extend the original Data-Oriented Parsing (DOP) model to context-sensitive interpretation of spoken input. The system we describe uses the OVIS corpus (which consists of 10,000 trees enriched with compositional semantics) to compute from an input word-graph the best utterance together with its meaning. Dialogue context is taken into account by dividing up the OVIS corpus into context-dependent subcorpora. Each system question triggers a subcorpus by which the user answer is analysed and interpreted. Our experiments indicate that the context-sensitive DOP model obtains better accuracy than the original model, allowing for fast and robust processing of spoken input.

Abstract:
Text representation is one of the key tasks in the field of natural language processing (NLP). Traditional feature extraction and weighting methods often use the bag-of-words (BoW) model, which may lead to a lack of semantic information as well as the problems of high dimensionality and high sparsity. At present, to solve these problems, a popular idea is to utilize deep learning methods. In this paper, feature weighting, word embedding, and topic models are combined to propose an unsupervised text representation method named the feature, probability, and word embedding method. The main idea is to use the word embedding technology Word2Vec to obtain the word vector, and then combine this with the feature weighted TF-IDF and the topic model LDA. Compared with traditional feature engineering, the proposed method not only increases the expressive ability of the vector space model, but also reduces the dimensions of the document vector. Besides this, it can be used to solve the problems of the insufficient information, high dimensions, and high sparsity of BoW. We use the proposed method for the task of text categorization and verify the validity of the method.
