Abstract:
With the rapid growth of web services on the internet, web service discovery has become a hot topic in services computing. Faced with the heterogeneous and unstructured service descriptions, many service clustering approaches have been proposed to promote web service discovery, and many other approaches leveraged auxiliary features to enhance the classical LDA model to achieve better clustering performance. However, these extended LDA approaches still have limitations in processing data sparsity and noise words. This article proposes a novel web service clustering approach by incorporating LDA with word embedding, which leverages relevant words obtained based on word embedding to improve the performance of web service clustering. Especially, the semantically relevant words of service keywords by Word2vec were used to train the word embeddings and then incorporated into the LDA training process. Finally, experiments conducted on a real-world dataset published on ProgrammableWeb show that the authors' proposed approach can achieve better clustering performance than several classical approaches.

Abstract:
This paper addresses semantic search of Web services using natural language processing. First we survey various existing approaches, focusing on the fact that the expensive costs of current semantic annotation frameworks result in limited use of semantic search for large scale applications. We then propose a service search framework based on the vector space model to combine the traditional frequency weighted term-document matrix, the syntactical information extracted from a lexical database and a dependency grammar parser. In particular, instead of using terms as the rows in a term-document matrix, we propose using synsets from WordNet to distinguish different meanings of a word under different contexts as well as clustering different words with similar meanings. Also based on the characteristics of Web services descriptions, we propose an approach to identifying semantically important terms to adjust weightings. Our experiments show that our approach achieves its goal well.

Abstract:
We live today in a digital world a tremendous amount of data is generated by each digital service we use. This vast amount of data generated is called Big Data. According to Wikipedia, Big Data is a word for large data sets or compositions that the traditional data monitoring application software is pitiful to compress [5]. Extensive data cannot be used to receive data, store data, analyse data, search, share, transfer, view, consult, and update and maintain the confidentiality of information. Google's streaming services, YouTube, are one of the best examples of services that produce a massive amount of data in a brief period. Data extraction of a significant amount of data is done using Hadoop and MapReduce to measure performance. Hadoop is a system that offers consistent memory. Storage is provided by HDFS (Hadoop Distributed File System) and MapReduce analysis. MapReduce is a programming model and a corresponding implementation for processing large data sets. This article presents the analysis of Big Data on YouTube using the Hadoop and MapReduce techniques.

Abstract:
This paper describes a Continuous Speech Understanding System that allows information services to be accessed through the telephone line. It accepts queries within a restricted semantic domain, expressed in free but syntactically correct natural language, with a lexicon of the order of 800 words. In the implementation here described, a user can access an electronic mailbox or a train information service through a PABX telephone line. The architecture of the system is based on two main modules that represent and use different knowledge sources. A speaker independent recognition module generates, for each utterance, a lattice of word hypotheses which is the interface to an understanding module that performs the syntactic and semantic analysis. The recognition module is based on Hidden Markov Models of subword units, and performs the acoustic decoding process according to a beam search strategy. The understanding module finds the most likely sequence of words and represents its meaning in a format which facilitates the access to a database. It makes use of a modified caseframe analysis guided by the word hypotheses scores. Experiments were performed with 600 sentences from 10 speakers on the E-Mail application task. Using 15 Gaussian mixtures per state, a word accuracy of 75.7 was obtained with a test vocabulary of 787 words and no linguistic constraints. Linguistic processing of the corresponding lattices achieved a sentence understanding rate of 82%.

The relationship between visual discomfort (or asthenopia) and different types of work using display units for 10,626 videodisplay terminal operators of the Italian Telecommunication Company was studied. Visual discomfort was evaluated as related to data entry, data checking, word processing, dialogue, enquiry, and various services. Chi-squared indicated that visual discomfort was not significantly related to any particular type of work for subjects with similar amounts of weekly time using videodisplay units. These findings are consistent with earlier results indicating that the main factor determining visual fatigue in VDT operators is the amount of time spent on the display units.

Aims and methodThe level of reading ability required to understand written information about key mental health issues designed for service users is examined. Information was taken from four reputable internet sources and analysed for readability. The relevant literature in relation to psychiatric patients and literacy is reviewed and potential solutions are proposed.ResultsA considerable proportion of the available information has a reading age at or above 14 years. Some organisations appear better than others in providing information at a more appropriate level of reading ability.Clinical implicationsWritten information aimed at users of psychiatric services may not take into account that they are more likely to have impaired reading ability, even though they might not have an identified intellectual disability. Professionals who develop written materials can use tools in word processing software to assist with the appropriate development of these materials. Information technology could in the future provide information directed at users of psychiatric services that does not rely so heavily on written material.

Abstract:
Analyzing and gathering the people’s reactions on product trading, public services, etc. are crucial. Sentiment analysis (also termed as opinion mining) is a usual dialogue preparing act that plans on discovering the sentiments after opinions in texts on changing subjects. This research work adopts a novel sentiment analysis approach that comprises six phases like (i) Pre-processing, (ii) Keyword extraction and its sentiment categorization, (iii) Semantic word extraction, (iv) Semantic similarity checking, (v) Feature extraction, and (vi) Classification. Accordingly, the Mongodb documented tweets initially underwent pre-processing with stop word removal, stemming, and blank space removal. Regarding the extracted keywords, the existing semantic words are derived after categorizing the sentiment of keywords. Additionally, the semantic similarity score is evaluated along with their keywords. The subsequent step is feature extraction, where the Holoentropy features such as cross Holoentropy and joint Holoentropy are formulated. Along with this, the extraction of weighted holoentropy features is the major work, where weight is multiplied with the holoentropy features. Moreover, in order to enhance the performance of classification results, the constant term utilized in evaluating the weight function is optimized. For this optimal tuning, a new, improved algorithm termed as Self Adaptive Moth Flame Optimization (SA-MFO) is introduced, which is the adaptive version of MFO algorithm. For classification, this paper aims to use the Deep Convolutional Neural network (DCNN), where the batch size is fine-tuned using the same SA-MFO algorithm. Finally, the performance of the proposed work is compared over other conventional models with respect to different performance measures.

Olaison, Anna. "Negotiating needs : Processing older persons as home care recipients in gerontological social work practices." Doctoral thesis, Linköpings universitet, NISAL - Nationella institutet för forskning om äldre och åldrande, 2009. http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:liu:diva-15968.

Full text
Abstract:
The study concerns the needs assessment processes that older persons undergo to gain access to home care. The participation of older persons, their relatives and municipal care managers was studied from a communicative perspective. The assessment meetings functions as formal problem-solving events. The older persons´ accounts are negotiated discursively in interaction. Various storylines are used by the older persons and their relatives whether they view home care as an intrusion, as a complement or as a right. In case of divergent opinions the older person has the final say as prescribed by the Swedish social service act. One conclusion is that the role of relatives is not defined and a family perspective is not present. In the study the institutional structure of the assessment process was also analyzed. Older persons are processed into clients; their needs are fitted within the framework of documentation and institutional categories. In the transfer of talk to text all the particulars are not reflected and two types of documentation was identified; a fact-oriented objective language or an event-oriented personal language. Care management models and a managerialist thinking has influenced the assessment process by bureaucratisation of older people trough people processing, which is in contradiction to the individual-centric perspective prescribed by the law. The introduction of care management models in gerontological social work has lead to an embedded contradiction and constitutes a welfare political dilemma. Improved communicative methods are needed in order to achieve a holistic assessment situation.

This dissertation is an effort to highlight the link between the work of social workers and the ethical-political project of Social Work. In this task the work processing is presented as a category capable of contributing to the approximation of the more particular universe of the work of the assistants, the one relative to the elaboration of the professional answers considering the varied mediations that interfere in the work. Based on the main production of Marilda Vilella Iamamoto seeks to highlight the social significance of the profession and the construction of the ethical-political project of Social Service. The differentiation between process and work processing is done since its use is common as synonyms. The condition of wages of social workers and their relative autonomy are privileged as fundamental elements for the analysis of the work of social workers in view of the limitation imposed on the professionals by such constituents of the work of the social worker. This is a qualitative research whose data collection was done through an interview with the social workers in the exercise of the profession and students of the Specialization Course "Social Policy, Social Service and Supervision of Internship" of the Faculty of Social Service / UFJF. The analysis of the interviews revealed mainly the effort of the professionals to elaborate professional responses oriented by the critical professional project revealing that said project constitutes the main reference for the work. In addition, it was highlighted the need to deepen the theoretical-methodological references of the profession to favor the perception of the link between work and professional project.

Abstract:
Emotions are a part of social work, and how the employees manage and process them can affect the quality of the services that they provide. It is therefore of importance to explore how social workers can manage and process their emotions and which support and possibilities to do so their organizations provide. This study is based on Hochschild´s theory of emotional labour, using her concept deep acting and surface acting. The aim of this study has been to examine similarities and differences in managing emotions between two different social work practices, one social services unit and one treatment unit. In order to explore this we conducted two focus group interviews, one at each unit. The study showed that both units were affected emotionally by their work and the actions of their clients. The treatment unit appears to primarily use deep acting and the social services unit appears to primarily use surface acting. The need to process their emotions is fulfilled in both places, primarily through collegial support and because they themselves creates the time to process, but the organization does not create any specific space for this.

Abstract: To keep up with an increasing demand for computational resources, IT companies need to build facilities that host hundreds of thousands of computers, the data centers. This environment is highly dependent on electrical energy, a resource that is becoming expensive and limited. In this context, this thesis develops a global data center-level power and performance optimization approach for Web Server data centers. It presents a power measurement framework for commodity servers, develops empirical models for estimating the power consumed by Web servers, and implements one of the global power optimization heuristics on a state-of-the-art, high-density SeaMicro SM15k cluster by AMD. The power measuring framework is composed of a custom made board, which is able to capture the power consumption; a data acquisition device that samples the measured values; and a piece of software that manages the framework. We show a novel method for developing full system Web server power models that prunes model parameters and reduces non-linear relationships among performance measurements and system power. The Web server power models use as parameters performance indicators read from the machine internal performance counters. We evaluate our approach on an AMD Opteron-based Web server and on an Intel i7-based Web server. Our best model displays an average absolute error of 1.92% for the Intel i7 server and 1.46% for AMD Opteron as compared to actual measurements, and 90th percentile for the absolute percent error equals to 2.66% for Intel i7 and 2.08% for AMD Opteron. We deploy the global power management system in a state-of-the-art SeaMicro SM15k cluster. The implementation relies on the concept of Virtual Power States, a combination of CPU utilization rate to the P/C power states available in modern processors, and on our global optimization algorithm called Slack Recovery. We also propose and implement a novel mechanism to control utilization rates in each server, a key aspect of our power/performance optimization system. Experimental results show that our Slack Recovery-based system can reduce up to 16% of the power consumption when compared to the Linux performance governor and 6.7% when compared to the Linux ondemand governor

Abstract:
This thesis deals with the evaluation of health risks of chosen factors in the work environment and medical services in the recycling and secondary raw materials and waste processing field. The goal of the thesis is to chart companies which handle recycling and secondary raw materials and waste processing in the South Bohemian Region, to find out the risk factors that go in hand with this work and to determine in which work category these workers belong. I have determined three hypotheses within the research. Hypothesis 1: The nature of the work activities does not correspond with suggested risks. Hypothesis 2: The workers are not equipped with tools in accordance with detected risks. Hypothesis 3: The workers of companies dealing with recycling and secondary raw materials and waste processing do not attend the necessary medical check-ups. The thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part I have introduced the risk factors connected to recycling and secondary raw materials and waste processing. I have covered the problematics of medical services for the employees, occupational disease and the protection of health from unfavorable effects of the work environment. To reach my goal, I have utilized quantitative research methods. For data collecting I have used anonymous surveys in the area of the South Bohemian Region. In the survey, I have adressed scrapyards, composting plants, collection yards and waste dumps. The collected data were processed by the Microsoft Excel program. The obtained data may be used as an information source for students as well as for employers and employees in companies handling secondary raw materials and waste processing.

California: International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence Organization, 2017. http://dx.doi.org/10.24963/ijcai.2017/260.

Abstract:
In this study, we investigated the problem of recommending usernames when people attempt to use the ``@'' sign to mention other people in twitter-like social media. With the extremely rapid development of social networking services, this problem has received considerable attention in recent years. Previous methods have studied the problem from different aspects. Because most of Twitter-like microblogging services limit the length of posts, statistical learning methods may be affected by the problems of word sparseness and synonyms. Although recent progress in neural word embedding methods have advanced the state-of-the-art in many natural language processing tasks, the benefits of word embedding have not been taken into consideration for this problem. In this work, we proposed a novel end-to-end memory network architecture to perform this task. We incorporated the interests of users with external memory. A hierarchical attention mechanism was also applied to better consider the interests of users. The experimental results on a dataset we collected from Twitter demonstrated that the proposed method could outperform state-of-the-art approaches.

Abstract:
An economic system within competition is secured has fatal role for countries. Because, government has many important duties two of which are providing economic and social welfare. Protection of competition paves the way for using resources efficiently, producing cheap and quality commodities and services, providing of innovation in technology. Competition which is the basis of market economy provides suppliers and demanders come together freely in market conditions. In this way, competition means that distributing limited sources of society effectively and using these sources efficiently, providing quality and affordable commodities and services to consumers. Especially, providing global, local or national market economies processing compatible with competition law is possible by determining, accepting and implementing the universal rules which are related to competition law. It is certain that the agreements, verdicts and applications which are blocking or impairing competition in market of commodity and service should be prohibited. Also, the institutions which abuse their sovereignty of market should be prevented from doing this. Judicial control path is available for providing the implementation of rules related to competition law in other word providing sanction of preventions.

Salvaging Wood from Fallen Trees after Hurricanes Irma and Maria. USDA Caribbean Climate Hub, December 2017. http://dx.doi.org/10.32747/2018.6943414.ch.

Full text
Abstract:
The USDA Caribbean Climate Hub and the State and Private Forestry Program of the International Institute of Tropical Forestry of the US Forest Service, held a workshop on November 21, 2017 where more than 80 people gathered to identify the opportunities and resources necessary to take advantage of the wood from fallen trees in Puerto Rico after hurricanes Irma and Maria. Due to the economic and cultural value of tropical timber species, economic activities can be created from the available posthurricane plant waste. Millions of fallen trees and branches can be processed to produce compost, mulch, coal and biofuels, or raw material for artisans and construction. There is also economic value in the handling of wood materials, the sale of tools and equipment for transporting and processing, and the sale of valuable wood products. In addition, many wood products store carbon indefinitely, mitigating the increase of CO² in the atmosphere. The main need identified during the discussion was the need to act quickly to avoid the burning and disposal of wood materials in landfills across the country.
