Abstract:
The purpose of this behavioural strategy study is to investigate how seasoned executives enact their personal values in real-life organizational decision-making. The significance of this article is linking the personal values of executives with actual leadership decisions they made. In focus groups, strategic leaders with an Outer Directed (OD) or Inner Directed (ID) values orientation were prompted to reflect on their decisions at work. Analysis of the coded transcripts revealed the four independent raters, reliably categorized coding events, according to a Maslovian coding framework, r = 0.8

In response to a column by Joshua Starr about how superintendents act as buffers between the school district and the community, Rachel S. White and Mark Lineburg suggest that school board members must also serve a buffering function. They encourage school board members and superintendents to work in concert when making decisions and communicating those decisions to the community. Specifically, they stress the importance of centering students in their decision making and of creating a shared language about the decisions they have made.

There has been little research about how ergonomics on different work surfaces impacts the way mix-engineers base their decisions in a mix - like choosing a specific parameter setting on a control, ex. While some engineers prefer working hands on with knobs, filter and sliders etc. and others with a mouse, ‘point and click’, there are no distinct evidence in how gestures typically impact the decisions and results of a mix. Through practices of assessment and consultation, information gathering and analysis, social workers, in the field of child protection, build understandings about children and families. Social workers actively construct knowledge as they engage in assessments of children referred to them as potentially 'at risk'. Their work is always informed by explicit or implicit theories about risk and protection. The active engagement with risk by social workers is the central focus for this inquiry. Essentially it develops a systematic proposal in order to understand the concept on the intui-tive basis that quality is tantamount to how well something works for a given purpose.
