Part II explains how this segment of immigrant workers challenges the productivity/affinity binary that dominates immigration law’s formal migration rules. Part III shows how this binary sets up dual migration streams, both of which could account for future flows of care workers. As Part III shows, the example of the eldercare industry nicely illustrates how the employment based and family-based migration systems simply represent two different ways of filling labor needs. Factors that affect worker producktivity is the intake level of nutrient of worker who can be seen from their nutritional status. The need for workers nutrition must be in accordance with the job. A worker with a good nutritional state will have a better working capacity and endurance, on the other hand a worker with a poor nutritional state will accelerate exhaustion and this can disrupt productivity. This study aims to know the correlation of nutritional status that consists of body mass index, energi intake, protein intake, and intake of iron to the productivity of female workers in PT. Ide

This paper describes use of a perceptual response survey instrument to assess the degree to which rankings by office workers of different key attributes of occupancy quality predict worker perceptions of their on-the-job productivity. Data were collected from a total of 434 workers employed in 10 different office sites. Results show that perceived levels of productivity are significantly correlated with rankings of perceived overall physical work environment and job quality. The correlation between perceived levels of productivity and perceived overall organization quality is marginally signif

Economists have become increasingly interested in studying the nature of production functions in social policy applications, with the goal of improving productivity. Traditionally models have assumed workers are homogenous inputs. However, in practice, substantial variability in productivity means the marginal productivity of labor depends substantially on which new workers are hired--which requires not an estimate of a causal effect, but rather a prediction. We demonstrate that there can be large social welfare gains from using machine learning tools to predict worker productivity, using data

This paper analyzes a labor market, where: workers can acquire an observable skill at no cost, firms differ in unobserved productivity, workers' skill and firms' productivity are substitutes, and firms' search is directed. The main result is that, if the entry cost of firms is small, no worker acquires the skill in the unique equilibrium. For intermediate entry costs, a positive measure of workers obtain the skill, and the number of skilled workers goes to one as entry costs become large. Welfare is highest when the entry cost is high. (JEL D21, D24, D82, D83, J24)

Technological advances and the big-data revolution have facilitated fine-grained, high-frequency, low-cost measurement of individuals’ work. Yet we understand little about the influences of such quantification of work on workers’ behavior and performance. This article investigates how and when quantification of work affects worker productivity. We argue that quantification affects worker productivity via auto-gamification, or workers’ inadvertent transformation of work into an independent, individual-level game. We further argue that quantification is likely to raise productivity in a context
